We loved camping on Sam's property. I host a large camping themed birthday each year, with 20+ adults playing lawn games, and having good, clean fun. Sam's property is conveniently located, making set up super smooth, though you feel completely private and isolated when you're there. Sam was very flexible and accommodating. He worked with my partner and me to really make this space our own for the weekend. We couldn't have asked for a better space and host. The kitchen and tiny home were great as well.

Eileen is a great host. The spot is easy access, perfectly level, and nice to have power and water which is not always on offer. The location is very convenient to town and very peaceful. We returned each evening to a beautiful sunset looking over the neighbors vineyard and barn. The sound of sheep and migrating geese completed the bucolic setting.

We had a wonderful stay! The campsite is located right on top of the mountain, and the views are absolutely beautiful. It was peaceful and the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The campsite also has a fire pit and a shared BBQ area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Waking up to the mountain views was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We had a great experience overall and would definitely recommend this place. We’d love to come back again!

Our group really enjoyed our time at Sam's Olive Farm. We especially appreciated the new misting system during the hottest part of the day, and the string lights provided a lovely ambiance to the evening. While most cars were able to get up the small hill to the campsite, one older car could not make it up—luckily, there was a 72 hour free parking lot just down the street. It was great having so much privacy, and not having to worry about close neighbors, which is often the case with car camping. We saw many birds, deer, and squirrels, and even a fish jumped in the pond. Thank you Sam for providing the venue for a great weekend!

Not that this place needs any more glowing reviews, but Alan’s ranch is our favorite hipcamp we’ve stayed at. We loved all the animals, the lake/pond, and wandering around the ranch. Llamas, cows, horses, chickens, pheasants, the friendly dog pack, donkeys, etc etc etc were a treat. We would go grab hay and feed the animals at our leisure. The lake is more like a large pond but it’s great for canoeing, no fish though. Alan only books two sites in the camping area but it’s huge and could honestly fit like 20 sites. He built a big common area with like 20 picnic tables and a large sitting area around a fire pit (he has wood that you can purchase). It’s an ideal place for a large group, and an absolute steal for what he charges. Alan built this ranch and I feel like he just gets joy out of other people enjoying the ranch and basically lets people stay for free. Bathrooms available with a (cold) shower. Pottable water. Sinks for washing dishes. And close enough to town if you need to grab anything. This is a perfect place for families that want to get their kids into camping. Alan is super friendly and make sure to chat with him when you visit. He’s 86 and works the ranch daily and loves to talk about it. We’ll be visiting again.

We loved taking our camper van out to Matt's land. He was a communicative host and gave clear instructions for arrival. The camping spots are spacious, and the nights in the valley are gorgeous. There are quite a few mudcracks and gopher holes in the ground on the area in particular where we camped, so just be cautious of young ones or dogs running around, it's easy to trip if you're not watching where you are walking

Great place, Ferry isn't always running, one is completely down, the other has "occasional" staffing issues, the one that got us to Rio Vista was open, so good their. Rabbits everywhere!....little cute ones. The are in the process of "updating", so good job there, lots of nooks and crannies to fish from, can't wait to get back!

The site was beautiful and private. The kids and dogs enjoyed swimming in the pond. The outdoor shower was refreshing at the end of a hot day. We towed an 18' camper with our Volvo XC90 suv. There is one steep spot on the road to the site that took us a couple tries to climb, but we're novice at towing.
