There are separate campsites available. Rodborough Vale is 600 acres with a combination of creek flats, native bushland and rocky volcanic outcrops. A working sheep property with some cropping, It is home to the well known Rodvale Border Leicester Stud. Farming in harmony with the native fauna and flora, guests may be able to spot many native species including platypus, wedge tail eagles, kookaburra and many more. Fronting Deep Creek, guests have access to fishing or just sit and listen to the crystal clear water meandering past the campsites. The farm borders Tullaroop Reservoir which is only a ten minute walk from most campsites, there you can find public toilets and picnic areas it is well known for its fly fishing for trout. The boat ramp is around 400m from the front gate and guests are welcome to leave vehicles and trailers on the property for convenience. Note : The reservoir is currently only open to electric powered boats and canoes. Dogs are welcome but must be very well behaved around sheep. Flushing toilet available at the shearing shed. Good access for caravans and large RV's. Amplified music is not allowed. Local attractions are the historic towns of Maldon, Clunes, Avoca and Dunolly all part of the Central Goldfields. Pyrenees Wine region is a short drive away.

Riverside King Valley is set on 16 acres on the banks of the King river featuring 10 spacious campsite spread along the property. Just a half an hour drive from Wangaratta, 45 minutes from Benalla and an hour from Mansfield. Each site offers something a little different whether it is a spacious site for a large group or party or a smaller site for a family weekend away. Our site is accessible for all vehicle types and is dog-friendly as long as pets are well-controlled. Campfires are allowed when restrictions aren’t in place, and firewood and kindling is available for purchase (see Extras). Please keep in mind that the property is a working farm and there will be cars and machinery onsite nearby to some of the sites. Each powered site has only 1 power supply. The property is bordered by he Murrundini River on one side, 1km, with hill side views on the other. All campsites have easy access the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Site One is a large flat area close to the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. All sites and river swimming are clothing optional, but please respect other campers in public area's if on site. In response to a recent review, I will point out that the driveway is a gravel farm track. Normal 2Wd cars have not had any recent issues. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). I am hoping to increase the nesting and habitat for as many local birds as possible, which has improved, but can get better with Your help. Not destroying large logs and tree's is first and foremost. But if you are inclined , funds for creating nesting spots are greatly appreciated. You can directly ask for donations to go towards specific prospects/ projects. Tawney frog mouths, king parrots, and many, many other birds call this place home. For donations specific to conservation, please contact me direct. With recent changes, Temporarily, removing site 2. please contact me for regulars. With no light pollution this is the ideal spot for star gazing.

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property and our family.

Fire restrictions in place during your stay must be observed. Firewood is available for purchase from a neighbour, located opposite the entrance to Summerhill Road. 4wd accessible during the wetter months and 2wd during the drier months. Restaurants, cafes, and wineries are all a short drive from here. Yarra Ranges National Park is also on our door step. We are a 1hr 15mins drive from Melbourne, though Summerhill Vineyard will have you feeling a world away. The Yarra Valley offers quality local food and wine, breathtaking scenery, walks, cycling tracks, and tourist destinations like Healesville Sanctuary, Lotus Water Gardens, Warburton Rail Trail and much more. Or.....you can chill out and just enjoy the serenity and views from your campsite. My family live on the property, close to 1/2km from the campsite, far enough away for your complete privacy, or close enough if you need us! There are a variety of campsites suitable for self-contained guests who have their own toilet/shower facilities and drinking water. The farm is completely surrounded by the Wellsford state forest which offers bush walking and many tracks for bike riding. - Powered Sites - Unpowered Sites - Firepits at some sites (bring your own wood) - Table/chair setting at some sites - Toilet waste strictly to be taken off the property - Pets welcome (on leash) The property is very quiet and restful with the sounds of abundant native bird life and provides great subjects and scenery for the photographic enthusiast. Loud, party groups with music at high volume are not permitted. Chainsaws and motorbikes are also not permitted.

Across the road we have little fresh creek, fire pit and seats, with State park you will be in touch with nature surrounded by Wallabies, Deer and Native birds, and at night Little Sugar Gliders and much more. We had a great time camping at Jemillia’s property. There was plenty of space between camps and its all maintained very well. Toilets and Showers were very clean and set up well. Lots of wildlife getting around. We will be back.

We had a wonderful camping experience at Riverside King Valley. The hosts were very friendly, and the natural surroundings were beautiful. The campsites are well spaced, so it feels peaceful and private. Our dogs loved running around, while the kids had a great time exploring insects and lizards. Something for everyone!

Weekend Trip to Nillawarre Farm Stay

We stayed as a big group and it was the perfect setting for a group camping trip. There was plenty of space for everyone to set up comfortably, relax, play games, cook together and enjoy the outdoors without feeling crowded. The property had such a lovely, welcoming atmosphere, and being surrounded by nature made the whole weekend feel like a proper escape. We spent our day enjoying the outdoors and our evenings around the campfire, sharing food, music, plenty of laughs and making memories together. Ginnie was incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful, and made the whole experience easy from arrival to departure. You could tell a lot of thought had gone into creating a space where people can genuinely switch off and enjoy themselves. For a large group looking for a peaceful and memorable camping experience, we couldn’t recommend Ginnie & Garry’s place enough. We had such a fantastic weekend and would absolutely love to come back again.

Weekend Trip to Glenmaye Farm – Creekside Camping

My corgi and I had the absolute best overnight stay here in August The scenery is breathtaking lush green hills, dramatic rock formations, and wide-open blue skies. It was unbelievably peaceful and quiet, giving us plenty of space to unwind. My corgi was in absolute heaven exploring the wide-open space, and I couldn't get enough of the panoramic views. We'll definitely be back!

Would highly recommend Mark’s place at Rodborough Vale. The farm is beautiful and Mark was very welcoming. It’s a peaceful private spot with plenty of room between all the campsites. This does mean there are some camps which require a good walk to get to the washroom and loo but it’s worth it for the sense of privacy. We enjoyed meeting the sheep, watching the birds and star gazing. Dogs should be extremely well behaved as you are very close to stock in some areas. There is lots to do in the small towns and state parks surrounding Majorca.

A great private spot within a stones throw of Myrtleford. Along with a spectacular host, this hipcamp is ideal for beginner and experienced campers. Our third stay here. Every time has been great. Jagged some great mid winter weather and with the lake almost full and lots of green around this location is even more stunning. Great camping tent site within a working sheep farm. Mark was hospitable and delivered a bag of firewood when it appeared we were going to run out. The boys loved getting around on the hillside of the creek and exploring the area. Highly recommend.

Where to go

Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road west of Melbourne is one of the world's great scenic road trips, but there’s much more to see and do than snapping a selfie at the Twelve Apostles rock stacks. Zipline above the rainforest in Great Otway National Park, climb lighthouses, watch whales, surf iconic Bells Beach, and pitch a tent on any one of several beachside camping areas. Road tripping doesn't get much better than this.

Gippsland and the Bays

Gippsland stretches east of Melbourne to the sea and north to the border with NSW. Most of the coastline is protected by a string of national parks with fantastic seaside camping spots and holiday parks—and camping at Wilsons Promontory (locals just call it the Prom) on the mainland’s southernmost tip is a must-do at least once. This is also where you’ll find Phillip Island, home to the famous nightly penguin parade.

The Victorian Alps

The High Country is the place to go for winter snow sports and summer mountain bike trails, plus bushwalking. If that sounds too energetic, it’s also home to the Great Alpine Road, one of Australia's best food and wine touring routes (and yes, the scenery is pretty good too).

The Grampians

In the state's west, the Grampians are another mountain playground with a network of bushwalking trails, from quick 2-hour walking tracks to 3-day hikes in the Grampians National Park. This is also where campers can find the highest concentration of Indigenous art in the state. Opt for bush camping sites in the national park or more luxurious campsites at Halls Gap or Dunkeld caravan parks.

Murray Riverlands

Australia's longest river, the mighty Murray forms most of the border with NSW to the north, and all along its length are great beachfront campsites from where you can go for a swim or paddle a kayak, catch a fish, or sit back and watch the world glide by. Elsewhere in the riverlands, ride a restored paddle steamer at Echuca, take a cruise through the largest river red gum forest in the world at Barmah, and dine out in the foodie hot spot of Mildura.
