Bimbimbi is located at the free flowing, clear beginning of the Murray River, at Tintaldra. We have 5 separate sites. Each site is for a single group, so you know you will only have yourselves in close proximity. Each site has access to the river, although The Fishing Hole, River Red Gums and The Big Bend have better access than The Willows and The Old Pump Hole. Swimming, fishing for Murray Cod, hiking along the river bank (we have 3km of frontage), bird watching, relaxing are typical things to do here. Or, if you are more adventurous, borrow our canoes and do a down river trip, or go for a longer hike up Pine Mountain in the Pine Mountain National Park. Or, bring your mountain or road bikes and do some cycling on the picturesque roads and trails. The campsites are well spaced out, with a minimum of 200 metres between the nearest two locations. In fact, it either impossible or very difficult to see anyone else at the other camp sites from your own camp site. Each camp site is accessible via its own track, so you won't have other vehicles driving past your camp site. We have a Leave No Trace policy, please take all rubbish with you. (This also means not throwing bottles, cans, bottle tops, aluminium foil and other non-biodegradable items into the camp fire.) Dogs are allowed, but please keep them under control, particularly if near cattle. Campfires are allowed only in braziers provided, when fire bans are not in place. You can gather your own firewood or purchase firewood from us (see "Extras"). Please arrive before dark if you haven't been here before. It is difficult to understand a new camp site in the dark. We provide a toilet at each location, for your convenience and the cleanliness of the camp site in general. Nothing but your human deposit and toilet paper in the toilet please. No disposable wipes, nappies etc. Please put these in your trash. Also, bring your drone but use it only over locations that are not occupied. We have canoes to borrow, seasonal produce is available from the garden and our own beef and local lamb is also now available. And, again, wood for purchase if you don't want to gather your own. Please see "Extras" We are open from October to April.

Accessible to the Murray River at its clear, free-flowing beginning, with views of Snowy Mountains. This is our piece of paradise that we love and we are happy to share it with others.  This site sits on a flat spot on the river flats, secluded behind some big River Red Gums and a few willow trees. Access to the river is easy and there is a great swimming spot, with a gravel beach gently sloping down into the river. There is a view of Pine Mountain National Park from the site. There is a short walk to some billabongs that are home to countless pelicans, cormorants, ducks, coots, swamp hens. Wombats are active in this area. This site is clothing optional. It is secluded and remote. Feel free to wear as much or as little as you like. This site is accessible only to high clearance vehicles, such as SUVs.  4WD is not necessary, but the track is bumpy.   Caravans can get there but are not recommended. We provide a drop toilet and a brazier for fires. Wood is readily available for you to collect yourself, or you can purchase wood from us (see Extras). The site is fenced off from the cattle when there are no campers and it is mowed regularly.

The Fishing Hole

This is our most remote site and accessed by 4WD only, except in the middle of summer when it is possible to get there in high clearance 2WD. It's peaceful, private, and offered for one group at a time. The site is flat, with easy access to the river for swimming - a big gravel beach gently sloping into the water. It is fenced off from cattle when there are no campers and is mowed regularly. The fishing here is very good (as it is across all the property), for Murray Cod and the protected Trout Cod. Caravans are not recommended as the track is tight in places. We provide a drop toilet and a brazier for fires. Firewood is plentiful. You can collect it yourself or you can purchase some from us. This site is clothing optional. It is unlikely that you will even see anyone else (except us occasionally), so feel free to wear as much or as little as you like.

The Big Bend

The Murray River at its clear, free-flowing beginning, with views of Snowy Mountains. This is our piece of paradise that we love and we are happy to share it with others.  The Big Bend is on a big sweeping bend in the river. It is flat and wide. The panoramic picture of our farm shows this site beside the river in the distance, if you would like a visual of the site and the open space surrounding it. We set up the Big Bend for our own use. It has great shade from the fast growing trees we planted 10 years ago and easy access to the river - for fishing, swimming, launching boats. It is our preferred swimming spot for our children who are 8 and 6. The site is fenced off from the cattle with a temporary electric fence, to ensure you have a clean camp site. The grass is mowed regularly. There is a built in BBQ. This site is one of the easiest to get to with caravans or RVs. After several naturist campers with very positive experiences, we also now recommend this site for your clothing optional camping trip.

The Old Pump Hole

A levelled off site sitting above the river, with great views over the river and the river flats and to the Australian Alps to the East. The river here is a great spot for fishing for Murray Cod and Trout Cod. You might also see a platypus. Because of its location, this is also our "winter camp" site. It will be open all year round, while all our other sites are closed from May to September. It is a lovely spot to sit by the fire, watch the river go past, enjoy the scenery and just relax. For swimming it is a short walk to our favorite swimming spot at the Big Bend. Or, for the more adventurous, jump in here and float down to the next bend, or beyond. . . . At present there is no shade here. We have planted shade trees throughout the site to be able to provide shade all day. We provide a brazier for fires and a drop toilet. You can collect your own firewood for free, or you can purchase firewood from us - see Extras. The site has the capacity for 3-4 caravans, or 6 tents, so there is no problem with cars or extra people.

The Willows

Close to the river bank under the shade of some massive willow trees. Pitch you tent on the grassy area on either Eastern (for afternoon shade) or Western (for morning shade) side of these willows. The bank here is high and access to the river for swimming is not very good. For swimming we recommend walking back upstream to The Big Bend or downstream to River Red Gums, where there are gravel beaches and easy access to the river. Fishing from the bank here is good. You have several hundred metres of accessible river that is proven to hold Murray and Trout Cod, as well as the ubiquitous carp. This site is also clothing optional. You might see a passing car in the distance - campers going to some of the other spots - but you will rarely see anyone walking along the river and you won't see any of the other camp sites.

We had such a beautiful serene time staying at Ian and Olga’s River Red Gum camp. A very special spot on the Murray. And an excellent trip kayaking down the river. They obviously care for their land and look after their hipcampers. Will stay again if we’re ever in the area!

The Big Bend
Great spot. We camped at the Big Bend ground in a group of 12. Ample space. Great fishing and kayaking. We caught 17 cod upto 60cm. All released. It was too cool to swim but would be a great spot to cool off. Will return. Thanks again to Ian.

The Willows
One of my favourite Hipcamp spots to date! Can't say how much we enjoyed this spot - grassy, green, right on a beautiful section of river, fishing ... helped that we had perfect weather. Loved it, will be back

The Old Pump Hole
Incredibly peaceful and private - loved the river flowing just beside us! The option of meal packs was fabulous, so we preordered those for on arrival for both nights - so easy!! Ps. If you want a little fur-company at camp, just ask if the gorgeous Zoe can join you - totally adorable!!

The Big Bend
Our second stay here and it was as good as the first. Ian meet us and guided us to our camp and pointed out where sunrise and sunset was so we could set up. The meat packs where delicious and good value. The peace and quiet and beauty is unmatched. Caught some beautiful Murray Cod. The dogs loved swimming in the river. It was raining when we left and he came down to camp and guided us to the safest way out. All together a peace of paradise and we just loved it

A lovely campsite right on the banks of the Murray River. A nice flat and spacious site, super private which is a must for us. You wont be seeing any other campers on the other sites because they are very spaced out. Ian keeps all of his campaites mowed and tidy which im sure many will appreciate. We stayed 2 nights just after some recent rainfall so the river was flowing. Given a few more days and the water would clear up and be pristine to have a dip in- which is what we have always experienced in this region of VIC. An ensuite toilet was provided and we tried some of their local meat produce, including getting some more on our way out! Ian and his family are lovely, definatley come visit his amazing property and enjoy the bush.

Our third time, but we stayed at The Fishing Hole this time to try it out and boy it did not dissappoint. The site was very big. The rass was pristine fenced off from the cattle with a composting toilet in a small tent provided. The fishing was good with only 30 mins each evening at sunset needed to catch a fish and then relaxing by the campfire with a glass of wine to watch the starry skies which are second to none. Swimming was great as the access to the river was easy from the site and some lovely deep spots and some sandy bottom. We ordered some extras of the meat produce which were so good we bought more to take home. You wont be dissappointed if you purchase some. The privacy on this site is unbelievable. We saw no one in 11 days except Ian the host on the first day. Birds and wildlife were great Firewood was in abundance and free to pick up for your campfire. We did as we always do and ordered a small bundle for the 1st night. This was our third stay at Ian and Olga's property and we were so glad that it and the surrounding area were untouched by the recent fires of the Northeast. As I said in previous posts, Corryong is a 20 min drive away with shops, supermarket, cafes takeaways etc. And the town is RV friendly with potable water easily accessable. (Also a dump point for you toilet if applicable) Yes we are going back again next year for a full two weeks 😀😀. I hope this review helps future campers in their decision. Ian thanks again and hope to see you soon.

What a lovely piece of the world. Ian really provides a lovely spot to relax and take in the beauty. River was lovely to swim in, trees gave lovely shade. The added convenience of a composting toilet was a great touch. We ordered a meat pack and it was lovely. All in all a fantastic place to just sit back and enjoy. Thanks Ian for sharing your lovely place with us. We WILL be back!

Such a great secluded place to relax right next to the river - so easy to dip in and enjoy a swim. During our four days we saw birds, deer, platypus and of course the friendly cows wandering past. I even caught and released two Murray Cod. This was our second visit and we will be back again for sure. Thanks Ian and Olga for another great stay.

Glamping for three days on the banks of the Murray River at Bimbimbi Experiences is my idea of heaven. Unbelievable views, stunning and peaceful, with every detail taken care of. The set up of this glamping experience is just something you dream of. Beautiful tents perfectly arranged, a home away from home. Every detail was well thought out and the quality of linen and furniture was incredible. A truly unforgettable and memorable experience.

The Big Bend
Perfect directions. Met on arrival and shown to our stunning location, taped off from the quiet cows to keep the ground pristine. Didn't see a soul the whole 5 days, seclusion promised, seclusion delivered. A steady flow of much needed rain over several days meant the ants were looking for somewhere dry to hide so keep a can of fly spray on hand just in case. All in all a fabulous spot away from the hustle and bustle, perfect for R&R

The Willows
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Willows campsite in Bimbimbi. We arrived in a downpour of rain and Ian guided us through his cattle farm to our campsite. The track was firm despite the rain, so we weren’t concerned about being bogged. The Willows campsite was beautiful. We camped next to the Murray River. I swam several times. The campsite had a small portable composting toilet in a toilet tent. It was super clean and tidy. The campsite was very private. We saw platypus, turtles, many birds and of course lots of very friendly cows. Our neighbouring camper told us he had landed some very large Murray Cod, before returning them to the river. Ian was very friendly, and obviously took great pride in his property. We were very grateful for our opportunity to share it briefly.

This campsite is by far the most amazing spot I’ve found using Hipcamp. The setup is incredible, very spacious with endless room for the dogs to run around, very private with closest neighbours hundreds of metres away, and even a toilet setup in a tent to save you bringing your own. Camp is quite literally ON the Murray River, which you get all to yourself, all while enjoying the picturesque view of the mountains across from you. We spent the entire time swimming in the river, it’s just an incredible spot. Can’t recommend enough, will definitely be back next time I make it Victoria.

A stunning part of the Murray river and great for paddle boarding , kayaking, swimming , inflatables and fishing . Felt like we had the Murray to ourselves as the groups are well separated from each other. Stars at night incredible. Thoroughly enjoyed This location, the best hip camp experience so far . A pub 10 mins down the road and iga at Corryong not too far either . Great hosts .
