Nillawarre Farm Stay

We stayed as a big group and it was the perfect setting for a group camping trip. There was plenty of space for everyone to set up comfortably, relax, play games, cook together and enjoy the outdoors without feeling crowded. The property had such a lovely, welcoming atmosphere, and being surrounded by nature made the whole weekend feel like a proper escape. We spent our day enjoying the outdoors and our evenings around the campfire, sharing food, music, plenty of laughs and making memories together. Ginnie was incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful, and made the whole experience easy from arrival to departure. You could tell a lot of thought had gone into creating a space where people can genuinely switch off and enjoy themselves. For a large group looking for a peaceful and memorable camping experience, we couldn’t recommend Ginnie & Garry’s place enough. We had such a fantastic weekend and would absolutely love to come back again.

Such a beautiful place to stay, felts like we were miles away but really it’s only a 30 min drive to Benalla if you needed anything. Amenities were clean and well maintained, hot water in showers was the perfect temperature. The small honesty shop with camping essentials at the amenities block is a great touch, had all the essentials you might need at a reasonable price too. Big flat areas to camp, with plenty of space for kids to play. We will be coming back and staying again in the future.

Views were good, however I was disappointed with Nillawarre Camp site for two nights over the long weekend . The were around 8 or 9 spots with cow poop between tent and firepit. even though the cows themselves were kept inside fenced areas. I'm not sure how it ended up there which it difficult specially in the dark to walk around without stepping in cow poop. Unfortunately, this significantly affected my experience and made the trip much less enjoyable than I had expected. I have taken some photos and videos to support my claim.

The camp grounds overall were very beautiful and well kept. The amenities provided were very useful and well maintained. The corner camp however was a bit out of the way and tucked in a corner, with most of the scenic view blocked and surrounded by trees, because of which the morning sun only hit the site at 9:30 am. That might be exactly what some people might want and enjoy, but based on the photos of the site, we were expecting those views. The site was also quite muddy compared to the other sites.

We were recommended this hip camp by a friend of ours and it is an absolutely amazing place! We loved it! Our daughter loved feeding the animals each afternoon and still talks about it! Ginnie and Garry are so lovely and accomodating even when we had to change our booking! Awesome facilities and the little camp shop is such a beautiful way to help support the local community. We grabbed some delicious chestnuts and eggs! I will 100% recommend this beautiful farm to anyone I hear travelling in that direction! We appreciate the hospitality so much

Loved the site, was secluded yet not to far from the amenities. Ginnie and Garry were very lovely and such kind hearted and warm people. Everyone enjoyed the animal feeding as well.

Slice of Animal Heaven

What a beautiful slice of heaven Ginnie and Garry have! I had a wonderful time staying at the lovely and quiet hillview camp! Facilities were so good, lovely to have hot water showers! Be aware it is a bit of a walk down to the amenities from the hillview camp, so if you have bikes or a car that would be a better idea!! Ginnie was so lovely, and I really enjoyed feeding her 1-day old lambs and calves!! Special mention to her beautiful dog Beau, which I am sure you will get to meet 🐶 Great locationed positioned almost exactly halfway between Benalla and Mansfield [Benalla a bit closer] Be aware in wet weather it is an unsealed road for about 3km to entrance, so if you have a 2WD best to check! Thank you both for such a wonderful long weekend away! I will be back with my family soon Xx 🐷🐑🐄

Corner Camp

Very friendly welcome from Ginnie who showed us the shared facilities (toilets, camp kitchen, produce store and the farm nursery) before escorting is to the most idyllic and secluded camp site tucked up on the edge of Mt Samaria State Park. Corner camp was a wonderful and private location for us to chill out and catch-up. You couldn't have asked for me in a campsite or a host. 5 Stars out of 5.

Nillawarre Crockett's Creek Cnr

We had the most incredible experience camping at Nillawarre! The campsites are all spread out so you have secluded privacy with amazing views. The natural beauty of this location is so relaxing and peaceful but it is the amenities that take this camping experience to another level! There is a kitchen, flushable toilets and showers that are clean and a short walk from the campsites. There is also a little tuck shop for anything you forgot, it can be purchased there. We roasted some chestnuts that were from the farm and it was such a wholesome experience. There is seriously everything you need at this campsite! Ginny was so kind and let us feed some of the animals, as well as hold some of the lambs that were only weeks old. All in all an amazing weekend away and exceeded all of our expectations! We can’t wait to come back. Thanks so much!!

Nillawarre Crockett's Creek Cnr

This was our third year staying at Nillewarre as a large group with lots of kids, and we’ll certainly be returning! Ginnie & Garry are wonderful hosts, the campsite and bathroom/kitchen facilities are always clean and well maintained. The kids love feeding the animals and having lots of room to play free-range at the campsite. Would highly recommend.

Staying at Nillawarre Farm was one of the best camping experiences we’ve had as a family. Located right next to Mount Samaria State Park, the place was secluded, green and quiet. Camping sites are large and spaced out, and so even with other guests around the farm it was quiet and peaceful. Amenities are wonderful - hot showers, flush toilets, basic kitchen appliances, even a small kiosk where you are able to purchase goods such as homemade jam and honey and relishes - set up right next to the sheep paddock. Ginnie and Garry were lovely hosts - we fed animals with them and they took us on a farm tour. The only downside was that we couldn’t stay there long enough! We’ll definitely be back.

I don’t even know how to begin to describe how amazing the whole experience was. From the moment I arrived, Ginnie has been nothing but kind and hospitable - from the flexible checkin/checkout times, to showing me how to start a fire, and she always greeted guests with a smile and a wave. The free firewood and animal feeding/petting was also very appreciated :’) The land itself is absolutely stunning, and the sites are all tucked away in their little corners so it’s quiet and peaceful while still being close enough to the amenities (the amenities were always tidy and stocked). The Hillview site also had decent mobile network coverage which was a lovely bonus, and overall as a solo camper I felt very safe. Such a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to come back again. Thanks Ginnie and Garry!

THE BEST FARM STAY

This is was a highlight of our lap of Australia and I will encourage everyone that loves camping to take some time to stay here. What a dream it was! The land itself is absolutely breathtaking and the hosts Ginnie and Garry are legends! Firewood placed out ready to go on arrival, immaculate amenities and an all round pristine farm experience. We seen newborn lambs and calves, got to feed sheep, goats and cows and just sit back and take it all in! Could have stayed here forever! Thanks a million!!!

Happy Campers.

Our group loved staying over Easter 2026 at Nillawarre farmstay. Hosts are extremely accommodating. We all enjoyed tours on the farm to feed the cattle and lambs. Our group loves to do fire cooking and sit around a fire, which we did. The amenities are rustic and good, as was the kiosk, we bought their produce too. Would highly recommend this farmstay, this was our 4th Easter there, thanks Ginnie and Garry.

Slice of paradise

This was our 2nd stay at Ginnie & Gary's - and it just keeps getting better. Ginnie's absolutely lovely, welcoming & warm. The kids LOVED the animal feeding (and seeing new lambs & calves) and the facilities are wonderful for a weekend camping. We happily ordered our firewood, ice and eggs and there was plenty more available should we have needed it. We'll definitely be back yet again, it's hard to stay away.

We had a great stay at the farm and would definitely recommend it. The directions getting in were clear and easy to follow. We came via Williams Road which was a bit rough, but manageable. The host was fantastic and took us around to feed the animals, which was a real highlight. The facilities were well kept, with clean showers and plenty of hot water. The kitchen area was well set up, and having a small on-site store for a few extra essentials was really convenient. Only thing to note is the access around the creek crossing can be a bit tight, so a capable vehicle or something with a bit of clearance is definitely recommended. Overall, a really enjoyable stay and we’d happily come back.

We are back to the farm and chose another site to stay . It is again a great camping holiday with so much fun. Kids play soccer, badminton , younger kids play mud to plant trees with shovels from Ginnie. I highly recommend this farm for camping, especially if it is a trip with several families.

Family Easter Gathering

We were spoilt with beautiful mountainous views, glorious sunsets, star filled skies, crackling fires & even bulls visiting in the paddock next door. We loved our stay. Amazing property and very well organized. Amenities were a bonus and the best I have seen in such a rural place. Ginnie was lovely, welcoming and had us all setup at the corner camp. We loved camping at Nillawarre Woodland camp site, Ginnie and Gary were very welcoming hosts. Our site was a very peaceful flat area beside the dam with trees providing shade in the afternoon, the views all around were stunning.The ammenities comprising of showers, flushing toilets and camp kitchen were a short 3-4 minute walk from the site. The property backs onto the Mt Samaria State park so the location is perfect for exploring this park and lake Nillahcootie is only about 20 minutes away. With plenty of room to stretch the legs and explore we would definately like to come back in the future.
