The Thowgla Hall is a community-run hall in the heart of the beautiful Thowgla Valley. We are only 10 minutes from Lake Jindabyne – turn left to head up to the mountains (a further 30 minutes to Thredbo or Perisher) or right to explore Jindabyne township and its boutiques, breweries, cafes and cinema. Stop in at The Station Resort on the way back from the mountains, just five minutes away for a nice feed and game of pool (during winter).
Our property is on a hill with a dam midway up if you’re looking for a nice walk. Do a loop for spectacular views! Come and enjoy the beautiful outlook and natural wildlife. Rest in peace and privacy or get out to enjoy all the Snowy Mountains has to offer. Whether you come for snow sports, water sports, biking, hiking, yoga or reading – adventure and relaxation awaits.
Access to all sites is via a tree-lined driveway. To get to the western paddock and Sunset, Pine View and Hilltop sites, the turn off the drive to get through the fence means that small to medium setups are suitable. To get to the eastern paddock and Sunrise and Birch Grove sites, the turn off the driveway is a bit wider to allow for larger setups. Please check the details for size recommendations – the maximum sizes listed are for your total setup, including your car and anything towed.
The sites at the bottom of the property closest to the road have easy access and more protection in windy weather, but if you have a 4WD and are wanting to sit and enjoy the 360 degree rural views then head up the hill to our Hilltop site.
We can supply firewood, kindling and fire starters for a small fee, just message us in advance, or you can BYO. Strictly no foraging for wood from the property please. There’s also no power hookups, taps or toilets so it's fully self-sufficient camping. For the peace of other campers, we don't allow generators or pets, sorry.

Bimbimbi is located at the free flowing, clear beginning of the Murray River, at Tintaldra. We have 5 separate sites. Each site is for a single group, so you know you will only have yourselves in close proximity. Each site has access to the river, although The Fishing Hole, River Red Gums and The Big Bend have better access than The Willows and The Old Pump Hole. Swimming, fishing for Murray Cod, hiking along the river bank (we have 3km of frontage), bird watching, relaxing are typical things to do here. Or, if you are more adventurous, borrow our canoes and do a down river trip, or go for a longer hike up Pine Mountain in the Pine Mountain National Park. Or, bring your mountain or road bikes and do some cycling on the picturesque roads and trails.
The campsites are well spaced out, with a minimum of 200 metres between the nearest two locations. In fact, it either impossible or very difficult to see anyone else at the other camp sites from your own camp site.
Each camp site is accessible via its own track, so you won't have other vehicles driving past your camp site. We have a Leave No Trace policy, please take all rubbish with you. (This also means not throwing bottles, cans, bottle tops, aluminium foil and other non-biodegradable items into the camp fire.) Dogs are allowed, but please keep them under control, particularly if near cattle. Campfires are allowed only in braziers provided, when fire bans are not in place. You can gather your own firewood or purchase firewood from us (see "Extras"). Please arrive before dark if you haven't been here before. It is difficult to understand a new camp site in the dark. We provide a toilet at each location, for your convenience and the cleanliness of the camp site in general. Nothing but your human deposit and toilet paper in the toilet please. No disposable wipes, nappies etc. Please put these in your trash. Also, bring your drone but use it only over locations that are not occupied.
We have canoes to borrow, seasonal produce is available from the garden and our own beef and local lamb is also now available. And, again, wood for purchase if you don't want to gather your own. Please see "Extras"

Samsons Gully is a working cattle farm nestled in a stunning private valley. If you are after peace and tranquillity this is where you will find it.
We have a national park on one side of us, and the Cudgewa Creek flowing along our front boundary. The property is perfect for mountain biking, bushwalking, fishing or just plain relaxing.
The favourite camp site is on the banks of the Cudgewa Creek. However, there are plenty of places to camp in the bush for those wanting more seclusion.
Samsons Gully is a perfect base to explore the Upper Murray. 20 minutes away is Corryong where there is an IGA, service stations, dump point, Dr and hospital, pubs and cafes. 10 minutes away is the Cudgewa pub who do dinner Wednesday through to Sunday evenings.
Our property suits fully self contained campers only as there is not toilet or shower. Dogs and horses are welcome but must be well behaved and kept close to your camp site as this is a working cattle property.
Due to council regulations we can only open one site up at a time. This ensures that your time here will be exclusive, peaceful and private.

Our story starts in Far North Queensland, when a german backpacker, me :), met an Aussie fisherman, Craig.
To cut the long story short, after living together in Germany we decided to move back to Australia. We had a vision, trying to find our perfect place to live.
Starting out with a car, a camper trailer and two bags we travelled from North Queensland down to Tasmania. Looking for a place to live.
On our way through Tumbarumba everything started to unfold and we fell in love with our property. The feel, the experience and the climate. This was it! We've found our perfect place and finally named it "Creal's Rest" which has two meanings for us. Obviously from our name, but also from "creel" which
is a wicker basket usually used for carrying fish.
Escape the hustle bustle of life on our 10 acres alpaca life style farm which is nestled between beautiful hills and grazing properties on Walteela Road in Mannus (20 min drive to Tumbarumba). Walteela means "Place of Peace" and that is what you might be looking for. No traffic waking you. Listen to the sounds of nature instead...
Enjoy the peacefulness, local wildlife (kookaburras, echidnas, wombats, kangaroos, etc.), small creek, stunning mountain views and dark skies for star gazing. Birdwatchers... you'll love it!
Love fishing? Enjoy a chat with Craig, who has been a pro line fisherman for 18 years in the GBR! He loves to explore, show off the local fishing spots and a chat about all things fishing! Mannus Creek is only a couple of min drive away and Mannus Lake 15-20 min drive.
Hand feed our friendly alpacas, greet our pet chickens and find some eggs.

We have 3 remote sites and 3 dispersed sites and the property is six kilometers from Dalgety township which is situated on the “Snowy River” NSW. We are located 30 minutes drive south east of Jindabyne and 40 minutes drive south west of Cooma.
There is a flush toilet and fresh drinking water is available at our dispersed sites. Caravans can easily be filled up via garden hose and if you are staying on one of the remote sites this can be done easily prior to settling in.
We have a mowed loop track giving easy access from each site to stroll to the top of the hill, walk the dog or enjoy the 360 degree views. Take a picnic in the evening or just a glass of wine and watch the sunset from the top of the hill. After dark, relax and toast some marshmallows over the fire pit and discuss what you are going to do the next day.
The land was originally once a part of "Marranumbla Homestead". I have called it home since 1995 and now share it with my partner Phillip, our son, Danish the Whippet, Murphy the Malshi, Myonie the Moodle and Finley the cat. The house yard only had 2 trees when I bought it and the house built originally in 1980 still needed completing on the inside. I have worked hard to create an extensive garden in a sometimes harsh environment.
It's our peaceful part of the "Snowy Monaro", the property being 155 acres in total. A great place to wander and breath in the fresh air.
In Dalgety township you can have a meal and catch up with a local at the "Buckley's Crossing Hotel" or take a walk around the show ground, town and along the river reserve where you can have a swim and relax on the riverbank and view the historic Dalgety Bridge circa 1888 across the Snowy River. Then come back in the evening to look for platypus when they come out to play.
Visit the local 'Snowy Vineyard and Microbrewery' incorporating the 'Dalgety Brewing Company' situated approximately 10km north of the town on the Snowy River or have lunch at 'Tuscany in Dalgety' 2km to the west of town.
Take a trip to Jindabyne which is half an hours drive to the west, walk round the lake, visit the 'Jindabyne Brewery', great food, beer, cider and wine or the many other restaurants and cafes in town. Spend some time at the 'Snowy Region Visitor Centre' and the 'Gaden Trout Hatchery' or catch your own trout in the lake or at the 'Eucumbene Trout Farm'.
Travel beyond into the mountains and Kosciusko National Park to Thredbo, Perisher Valley and Charlottes Pass. Explore the many walks in the national park including the walk to the top of Mt Kosciusko.
Visit the 'Wild Brumby Distillery' enjoy some European fare and locally crafted Schnapps, Gin, Vodka or Gluhwein.
Take a day trip through Adaminaby to 'Yarrangobilly Caves and Thermal Pool' in the northern end of Kosciusko National Park, picnic, swim and tour the caves.
Visit the "Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre and Café in Cooma and learn the history of the scheme. The Centre houses a comprehensive exhibition hall including an extensive photographic collection, models, hands-on exhibits and a one of a kind immersive theatre. You will find information about the Scheme such as engineering, the environment, the National Electricity Market, history, water management and power generation.
Make it your base camp while enjoying all that the winter season has to offer and lets not forget the skiing and snow boarding of course.
Well that's just a sample of some of the things you can do but if all that sounds like too much, just put your feet up and have a rest at your campsite!!
P.S. The annual Dalgety Show is held on the first Sunday in March every year and did you know that Dalgety was one of the sites considered for our country's capital.

"The Orchard" is a beautiful peaceful 5 minute walk down a gravel road with big trees to our Cidery where you can taste and take back to camp some of our cider or sit and have a drink while watching the animals being fed. Maybe book a tour where Tony will show you how we make our cider from the orchard to the bottle and Lorene will show you the amazing animals. You can always jump on your bike and head out on one of the many tracks in the area.
You will need to be self sufficient and have your own toilet, water etc. There is no power in The Orchard. Due to people using the orchard as a toilet we are now no longer taking people tenting. You MUST be self sufficient.
Head in Batlow to check out the bakery, RSL and Pub and admire the beauty of this small town. Or head upto Tumbarumba where you can visit the Winerys and Ginnery, have lunch at Coroubya wines,The Nest or one of the many cafes. Maybe take the challange of the Tumbarumba rail trail. Check out the water falls, the blowering dam and take in those beautiful mountain views.

Attungatharah (Bigyard Hipcamp)is a property located on the Mowamba river at an elevation of 1100 meters. It is situated south of Jindabyne 13 km along the Barry Way and 7km up the Mowamba valley on the Bigyard Road and is on the fringe of Kosciuszko National Park.
The Mowamba River catchment starts high in the Cascades on the eastern side
of the Snowy Mountains. Mowamba Magic (water) flows from this pristine
environment through an undisturbed catchment flowing past the property
A number of day Mountain Cycle Rides into Kosciusko National Park and 1/2 day rides directly out of the property plus shorter ones to historic old timber mills. Bushwalking and nature trails up onto the Moonbah Ridge at the back of the property. See the Yellow Belly Glider Habitat tree, you may be lucky to see them feed. Catch trout and swim in the Mowamba River. Canoe the exciting Lower Snowy Gorge just 45 minutes drive. Ride horses on the many local trails by arrangement.
Station Resort in winter renowned in providing a first class char grill and restaurant. Snowy River Winery Dalgety Brewing wine tasting and restaurant alongside the Snowy River is approx 30 minutes drive. Thredbo and Perisher approx 45 minutes drive. Skitube 35 minutes drive .
A ctivities include Mountain Cycling Bush Walking ,Fly Fishing, Swimming Canoeing, Stargazing looking up at the stars and objects in space as a hobby, as part of scientific study, or as part of astrology (= the belief that the position of the stars influences people's lives): Bigyard Hipcamp is far from any city lights and perfect for stargazing.

Very peaceful and relaxing. Nice clean well kept site. Plenty bird life, and friendly camels in an adjacent paddock. Great spot for exploring the area, including Batlow, Tumut and Tumbarumba. Highly recommended.

Just wow - Sinikka and Justin’s beautiful property exceeded our expectations. Picturesque views, abundant wildlife and power/water/wifi/slab with a loop around road (easy access). We saw an echidna, multiple platypus, a wombat, possums, heaps of kangaroos and so many bird varieties including a hawk/eagle every day. All of these on the property and lots from our site. There’s 5 sites in total and it feels very private, spacious and relaxing. My children adored the chickens and gave them names! Sinikka met us on arrival and messages were always responded to promptly. We’re sad to have left after the best trip we’ve done in our caravan so far. Can’t wait to come back to see how the landscape changes in different seasons. There’s new cabins that look lovely too. Town is super close but we only went in for essentials because we were so content at the property.

This campsite is by far the most amazing spot I’ve found using Hipcamp. The setup is incredible, very spacious with endless room for the dogs to run around, very private with closest neighbours hundreds of metres away, and even a toilet setup in a tent to save you bringing your own. Camp is quite literally ON the Murray River, which you get all to yourself, all while enjoying the picturesque view of the mountains across from you. We spent the entire time swimming in the river, it’s just an incredible spot. Can’t recommend enough, will definitely be back next time I make it Victoria.

Such a great experience camping here! The bathroom and shower facilities are great - very clean with reliable hot water. The camping grounds were well-kept, quiet and scenic and a great location if you want to head into Mount Kosciusko national park. James is a very friendly host with a very cute dog. Would definitely recommend :)

We stayed at the riverside camp over a long weekend. Beautiful spot, very secluded, flat and grassy, directly on the river. Jim was a fantastic host, directions were spot on, and the property was easy to find. Note the entrance to the campsite is steep, and it’s dry weather only.

We stayed here for a little over a week. It was great being the only camper on the property and having elevated views of Jindabyne. It was extremely quiet and nice to have our dog off leash as well. There is a tap not too far from the van in case a top up of water is needed.

This spot is by far one of my favourite Hipcamps I’ve stayed at. It is so secluded, and you can setup camp anywhere on the property! Lots of wildlife around to spot, including many Kangaroos. The stars at night was one of my favourite things about this camp - no light pollution whatsoever, making it the most amazing place for stargazing. Great for taking photos too. Will definitely be back next time I’m road tripping!

Soooo beautiful! I couldn't believe it was real! And there's unlimited camping spots that can be anywhere in the huge block of land! Your only limit is the fence line which we weren't able to even see.

Loved how quiet and peaceful it was. It felt like we were all alone but there were about 5 others on the property that we didn’t see until the morning. Property is massive with plenty of room, we had a car no 4wd but had no problem driving around and finding a spot. A bonus was the flushable toilet not very often you get that when camping so bravo!

A level and private camp site which had water, bins, a fireplace and a picnic table. The site is exposed to the elements, but that's to be expected in this area. We were fine in our caravan even though the weather was windy and rainy. Sheep in the next paddock and big boulders for the kids to climb on.

When to go
The ideal time to visit The Granites is during autumn, with pleasant daytime temperatures and cool evenings. Spring also beckons with the potential bloom of the iconic red Sturt Desert Pea, painting the park in brilliant hues. Summer visits can be challenging with extreme heat, so plan accordingly for a safe and enjoyable experience.
