Our 25 acre Hipcamp area is located safely within our 300 acre property which enjoys approximately 5 kilometres of pristine and private Murray River frontage in the beautiful rural city of Albury. Willowbank is a fourth generation cattle farm and when you arrive at Willowbank you will feel like you are a million miles away from anywhere but you are only 2.8km from the centre of Albury and 2.9km to Wodonga from our sites . We are less than 5 minutes away from the beautiful South Albury cafe and boutique shopping precinct; Ebden and Olive, Nannina's, Meraki, Platform 9, South Albury Take Away, Di Billet, Almar Organics, Sukor Wellness and Recovery, The Red Devil Brewery, Tucker on Townsend, Chic to Chic and more. We are also only 3.5km from Harris Farm Markets. Albury's public Dump Point at Albury Railway Station is less than 5 minutes away. Each of our camping sites is well away from each of the others and there is plenty of room at each site for children to play. The three best sites for swimming are The Crossing, The River Bend and The Willows . We encourage the use of life jackets for children in the water at all time. We have no toilet or shower facilities at any of our sites so you are required to bring your own toilet with you. All waste must be removed at the end of your visit. With notice, we can arrange portaloo hire should you need, please enquire with us prior to booking. We have no access to drinking water and if you decide to use river water for drinking we do recommend that you boil the water. Swimming, floating, paddling in the Murray River is a sublime pastime. Please be aware though, that the Murray River has a very fast and strong current. Looking to hire a canoe, we recommend you contact Dave/ Murray River Canoe Hire [xxxxxxxx]) for a canoe to paddle around your campsite or to do a beautiful canoe trip on the Murray River from Doctor's Point to Noreuil Park. It will take a few hours and yes you will go past your camp site! We do have an area to launch your motor or paddle boat or jet ski We are on the banks of the magnificent Murray River and all our four sites are absolute river frontage with uninterrupted views up, down and across the Murray River. This campsite is a gently sloping grass area down onto river frontage with beautiful views upstream, down stream and across the magnificent Murray River onto a 800 acre island. This site is shaded by a beautiful red river gum tree, box willows and a weeping willow. There is a shaded and secluded swimming spot here with minimal river current. It is perfect for swimming, canoeing, paddling and putting a small tinnie onto the water. Great for fishing too. Guests will enjoy 1 acre to themselves however there may be another group visible 500 metres up river. There are no amenities on site. Guests will need to be self contained, take their waste with them and leave no trace. There is a suitable site nearby to launch a boat into the river. Our property is located within the city of Albury on the Murray River. The Red River Gums campsite is a flat grassy area on a high river bank, which is home to two majestic red river gums. You will enjoy stunning views up stream and down stream of the Murray River and across the river to Victoria and a 800 acre island. It is a great spot for fishing and paddling. Guests will enjoy 1 acre to themselves however there may be another group visible 500 metres down river. There are no amenities on site. Guests will need to be self contained, take their waste with them and leave no trace. There is a suitable site nearby to launch a boat into the river. This camp site is again gently sloping to the edge of the magnificent Murray River. It is shaded by some small gum trees and a beautiful copse of weeping willows. This site is adjacent to a beautiful sandy swimming spot into open river. The Murray River is always moving and the current can be very strong and the water very cold. Guests need to be competent swimmers and be used to swimming in moving water. There is often large sand mounds in this area which are great fun for children to play and climb on. The Crossing

The Crossing is where we have historically swum our heifers, cows and calves across the Murray River from Willowbank onto an island to give them space, quiet and lots of feed to fatten those calves and keep their mothers in prime condition. We no longer use The Crossing or the island for this purpose but it is a beautifully secluded and private space with absolute Murray River frontage. The Crossing will give you perfect access for your boat (river height permitting), whether it is a small tinny or something a little larger. You can certainly swim here too but remember the river current is fast and strong. The Crossing is located in “Browny’s” paddock (this name is a nod to long gone respected neighbours across the river). Browny’s is a cattle paddock and as such you will always share the space with these animals. Our cattle are quiet, sometimes inquisitive but used to human interaction and while we are happy for you to have your dogs on site, we must insist that they are tethered (long leads are absolutely fine) at all times while camping at this site. A stunning vista, a quiet space and the never ending sky above. Guests will enjoy 30 acres to themselves however there may be another group visible 400 metres down river. There are no amenities on site. Guests MUST be self-contained and take their waste with them and leave no trace. Awesome spot just minutes from Albury. Camped on the banks of the Murray for 2 nights sharing the area with some nice looking Rib-eye Steak 🙂 Fire pit was well utilised on the cool nights. Sites are well spread out and only had one other caravan for one of the nights. Thankyou Vicki and Byron for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise with us.

★★★★★ Willow Bank on the Murray – Where the cows are your neighbours and the city is only 3 minutes away! What a beautiful little slice of heaven! It’s only about a 3-minute drive from Albury, yet once you arrive, it feels like you’ve driven straight into the middle of the countryside and left civilisation behind. You’ve got cows, kangaroos and even your very own goose — who clearly considers himself the local security guard and may or may not approve of your stay! 🪿😂 The property is right on the Murray, and with the private coded entry, you really feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Total peace and privacy… apart from the occasional jet skier or kayaker cruising past to remind you that, technically, you are still part of society! 😂 It’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind and pretend you’ve escaped to the country without actually having to drive for three hours to get there. The host was fantastic — great communication, easy to deal with and made everything nice and straightforward. We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% book again. Just hoping the goose hasn’t put us on the banned list! 🪿🤣 Beautiful location, peaceful, private and ridiculously close to Albury. Highly recommend!

The Willows
Great grassy spot on the river. Very private and not far from town. Easy to find. We loved our 3 night stay, despite having rain, hail and sunshine. Our dogs absolutely loved being able to run around and swim in the river. The resident cows are very friendly. Hosts were very responsive and very friendly. Good value bundle of firewood which comes with a friendly chat from host Byron.

Beautiful spot over looking the river, nice flat site to setup the van. Views up and down the river are excellent. Hosts are super friendly and accommodating, great communication about the location. We stayed Sat-Tuesday, the only down side was the traffic noise from the highway. Don’t notice it over the weekend, but Monday morning and later on Monday afternoon it was very obvious.

Loved the location - a scenic and serenity infused bend in the Murray on a cattle property so close to town but far enough away to not know civilisation was mere minutes down the road. Loved having our own private campsite - no one to be concerned about but us and the flow of the Murray and a few cows and calves as our daily welcoming committee. (The secret password is Moooooooove 🤭) Ample firewood and firepit with our chosen add on to the booking. Julie was also incredibly welcoming and friendly. We would definitely recommend a visit here and would stay again! Thank you ☺️

Thank you Vicki & Byron for a lovely stay at your beautiful property. We stayed 5 nights and didn’t want to leave! Visits from the cows / Kangaroo’s & Ducks were a treat too :) Listening to the river by the Willow trees was so relaxing at River Bend. Even the doggies seemed relaxed and settled. Vicki and Byron are fabulous hosts on their beautiful property fronting the Murray River. The property is only 3km from Albury, but feels much more private and remote. There are no facilities, so you need to be fully self contained. I loved my time camped at Willowbank. Highly recommended.

Wow, what a camp site. Right on the Murray River, private camp spot with animals all around. Byron was a great host and we really enjoyed our time here. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we’ll definitely be back.

We had a fantastic stay. Vicki and Byron were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make everything easy and comfortable. Communication was excellent from start to finish, which made the whole experience smooth. The location right next to the river was perfect — peaceful, scenic, and a great spot to unwind. Being so close to Albury was also a huge bonus, making it simple to duck into town whenever needed. Although we could hear some noise from the road we did not find this interrupted the tranquility of the camp. Overall, a wonderful place with outstanding hosts. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful spot right on the Murray River surrounded by gorgeous, gentle cattle. Private location with some highway noise but it did not bother us at all. Vicki & Byron were both incredibly helpful and responsive in messaging us. Great designated fire pit areas too.

We loved our stay at the willows on Vicky's beautiful property. She met us at the gate and showed us to our campsite and it was perfect and with the way the land rolls we couldn't even see the other campers, who are well Spaced out. For 10 minutes out of Albury, we felt like we're in a different part of the country. Vicki was wonderfully communicative and accommodating, and we just adored out time here. We will be back. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! What a spectacular location and gorgeous surrounds Vicki’s property is. We had an incredibly relaxing time, didn’t want to leave, and cannot wait to return for at least a week. Three nights just wasn’t long enough to enjoy the space, the views of the Murray River, the dark sky, and the broader location of Albury (which was conveniently close but yet we felt like 100s of kms away from civilisation!). Thank you Vicki for having us stay.
