We have a beautiful hobby farm on 2 and a half acres. Camping is at the front of the property where you will find vegie gardens and fruit trees. There is also a fire pit (plenty of firewood available), a trampoline and a games shed with toilet, shower and kitchenette facilities. Yes we live on the property and the campsite is in the front yard, however we do not infringe on your space at your campsite or the amenities area - these are yours and yours only whilst camping here. We do not double book our sites, it is strictly 1 group at a time.
Pets are welcome for a small fee of $5 per pet per booking. If you are bringing a fur baby or 2 with you please add the Pet Fee into your booking via the EXTRAS tab.
You can purchase free range eggs in half dozen and full dozen when available. Please ask on check-in.
200m to boat ramp with river perfect for water skiing, jet skiing, tubing and freshwater fishing (licence required as this is a stocked impoundment). On opposite side of river is Sandy Hook Boat Club where major water skiing and power boat races are held throughout the year.

Bundaberg has attractions such as the Bundy Rum Distillery, Ginger Beer Factory, a free zoo, Mon Repos Turtle Centre, lower Great Barrier Reef cruises to Lady Musgrave Island for snorkelling, great beaches some with 4WD access. Gin Gin is on the main highway to head north or south. Easy access from here to National Parks for walks and 4WDing.
Being a hobby farm we have livestock in a paddock in the backyard. If you would like to join us for feeding in the afternoons please ask on arrival. Feeding happens between 4 and 6pm depending on time of year. We also have chickens that free range around the campsite at the front of the property who will happily take any of your scraps.

Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 7 kilometers (6 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton.
The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash).
The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland.
There are eight(8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit. An initial supply of firewood will be provided.
There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans.
Apart from humans, dogs and cats, the property is inhabited by kangaroos and a variety of birdlife.
The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing.

Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉
Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience.

The Avondale Pub is 1km away with great meals and drinks, and the Bucca Pub is 10 minutes away with weekend entertainment. Jo's road house is just up the road and has all the essentials food wise with great pizzas, and fuel. Next to Jo's is an RACQ centre and mechanics. All this at your fingertips or just kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet in amongst the large gum trees and native lemon scented gums.

We offer numerous camping sites on cleared land lined by trees, near to our gully and seasonal creek. Each site is private and offers plenty of space. Campers must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, but there is a 24/7 dump station just 2km away.
A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore.
Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient.
Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure.
Campfires are permitted, but please BYO firepit, and there is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect and split yourself. Pets are welcome too!
Kids under 5 stay free and don't need to be included in the booking group count. Check-in is welcome after 9 am and you can depart anytime.

Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe.
Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience.

We neighbor the Mary2 Bay Rail Trail, which starts at the Urangan Pier and goes to Maryborough. Next door to us is the Vernon Conservation Park with 1,600 acres to explore by walking, cycling or horse riding, so bring your ebikes and ride all the way into town if you are keen.
Dogs allowed but must remain on a leash.

Enjoy a convenient and relaxing base to discover the best of Hervey Bay at our 150-acre cattle grazing farm located just 3km outside of town, with plenty of space for campers. To access the farm, turn right off the Maryborough Highway into Chapel Rd, then turn right at the picnic table beside the bikeway, and do not drive over the cattle grid. The entrance is right beside the grid with reflectors on each post. If you're having trouble finding the entrance, please call Ray at 0459247041 or Judy at 0459247042.
We offer numerous camping sites on cleared land lined by trees, near to our gully and seasonal creek. Each site is private and offers plenty of space. Campers must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, but there is a 24/7 dump station just 2km away.
A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore.
Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient.
Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure.
Campfires are permitted, but please BYO firepit, and there is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect and split yourself. Pets are welcome too!
Kids under 5 stay free and don't need to be included in the booking group count. Check-in is welcome after 9 am and you can depart anytime.

We are offering the top corner of our 5 acre property as a safe and quiet short stay (3 day max. unless prior arrangement) place to base yourself while you explore Hervey Bay, K'Gari/Fraser Island and surrounding areas. The whale watching season in Hervey Bay runs from July - November. Hervey Bay is a short 8 minute drive to some of the most beautiful and safe swimming beaches in Australia. There is several shopping areas including large shopping centres where you can pick up supplies etc. Wander around the weekly markets and enjoy the holiday vibe Hervey Bay brings you. Not forgetting our beautiful K'Gari/Fraser Island. When exploring the area it is a must see and do. There are daily tours to K'gari that leave from River Heads which is less than a 20 minute drive from here. Maryborough is only a 25 minute drive from here and boasts some of the most beautiful heritage buildings and museums. They hold their street markets every Thursday. After all that exploring you can then come back and enjoy the serenity and reflect on the wonderful day you have had. Enjoy the adventure.

Best hip camp I’ve stayed at! The views were beautiful, directions clear and lots of activities available to keep you entertained. The sites were spread out so you had a sense of privacy with areas to socialise with other campers still available if interested. Jess was welcoming and available to support as needed but didn’t hover the way some hosts do. Overall a fantastic host and spot to stay.

We recently stayed here for a few nights while catching up with friends from another town and had a great time. The campsite is set at the back of the property and felt private, with a friendly and relaxed check-in.
The facilities were excellent—fire pit, flushing toilet, hot shower, and a sheltered area with electricity, plus tables and spare chairs which made things really convenient. It was also great that we could bring our dogs along, and the country pub up the road was a nice bonus.
Overall, a relaxing spot for a catch-up with friends. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back.

What a brilliant hipcamp that's recently opened. Jess was super friendly, the grounds are amazing and the dam is gorgeous. This place will get super busy as more people find out about it. Get in while it's still only $22! I would stay here again and maybe for a few nights next time. Unfortunately I was only passing through for a night!

We had an amazing time at Jess’s farm! It was my daughter’s birthday, so some of us camped overnight while others joined us for the day to celebrate.
The kids absolutely loved being able to interact freely with the beautiful guinea pigs, ducks, goats, pigs, and chickens. There was also a playground to keep them entertained, along with plenty of activities set up for us to enjoy-tug of war was definitely a favourite!
When they weren’t with the animals, the kids were off kayaking, fishing (hoping to catch a barra for the chance to win three free nights!), or exploring the dam. In the evenings, we gathered around the fire to enjoy a delicious roast dinner and toasted marshmallows, which made it even more special.
Jess was a wonderful host-she generously took the time to show us around her nursery, explaining the plants and their uses in Vietnam. We all found it fascinating and learned so much.
We truly didn’t want to leave and could have stayed much longer! We’ll definitely be back, even if it’s just for day trips before our next extended stay.
Thank you so much, Jess, Andrew, and family-this was an unforgettable birthday celebration and camping trip. We can’t wait to return!

We loved camping at Gumtree Dam Highlands. Easy directions in a fantastic location. Very well set out with good clean amenities. Yes there were other sites near by but we had plenty of room and it was quiet. We loved the farm animals and getting to feed and brush the Highland Coos. There are other farm animals there as well.
Chrissy and Duane are super friendly, welcoming and helpful.
We can't wait to go back and would 100% recommend them and their amazing place.

1 night at Buxton Bush Retreat
Great property, each spot is very large and spots aren't on top of each other. The complimentary firewood was appreciated although with the recent rains took a couple of does to get it started to be expected. Bring plenty of aeroguard for the mozzies but again it could be just because it has been raining. Look forward to stopping in again and recommend to all looking to book. Not to be confused with the Buxton bush camp up the road where everyone is on top of each other, drinking and partying through the night. This camp couldnt be more different... Two thumbs up.

What a beautiful peaceful spot. We were camped by the creek rather than the river in a gorgeous spot that was really quiet and private. It was a wet weekend, but we just enjoyed the serenity. Lots of life to watch in the creek with fish, turtles and I spotted one of the platypus. Even with all the rain, access was no problem. Lachlan was delightful when leading us to our site, and Jennifer was really friendly when she dropped by for a chat. We’ll definitely be going back in the future.

Annette was so warm and welcoming as well as her little yorkie Ozzie. Couldn't recommend this stay enough. It was peaceful and much needed. We enjoyed the amenities and the fire pit the night we stayed. Wosh we could've stayed longer and the one night!
Annette even does Bowen Therapy so I would definitely enquire as my mum is also a bowen therapist and I would highly recommend giving it a go after a long drive for some relaxation!
