The camp itself was fantastic — beautiful location, peaceful surroundings, and great amenities. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Unfortunately, our stay was disrupted by a neighbouring group, particularly one person who became extremely drunk and aggressive. They were yelling and arguing loudly through the night, kicking and throwing things around, and even vomited near our tent. It made us feel very unsafe and really unsettled our dog. It’s a real shame, as the campsite itself is wonderful — hopefully some measures can be put in place to prevent this kind of behaviour in the future.

Very easy to book, easy navigate to with Googke maps. The guys were extremely friendly and even brought fire wood straight to my camp-site. Slight technical issue with the front gate opening in the morning, but nothing to to get upset about. All round it was a beautiful spot to camp with fantastic facilities to utilise, easily worth the price and will definitely be staying again on my travels.

Absolute beautiful and friendly place to visit. Definitely be going back. The site is in progress to be bigger and better, so looking forward to seeing how it progresses!

Facilities were great. Host was accommodating and welcoming. Great location, scenic and rural with chickens, ducks and kookaburras adding to the relaxing atmosphere. This place has the comfy feel without the chaos of the bigger commercial set ups.

The place was not so spectaculair as we thought.
The owner wasnt there and we did as requeted in the mail, find a spot which you like and come back later to the office. So we did and lwent several times to the office but no owner. Because of that we couldnt buy any wood to make our place comfy and warm. Because there little shop wasnt open either. We never met the owner.

Nice camping ground, very friendly staff, good toilets/showers. Good firewood too. Lots of space with sun and shade. So we're happy :-)
Only thing to be noted there's some background noise at night from traffic and some machine that operates at night. Not all that heavy but noticeable.

Phonse is very welcoming in arrival. I needed an overnight stay with my RTT and a bit shower. There was ample coffee of spots to park. Overall a good place for me.

Large area to camp and a great camp kitchen. Amenities are a little rudimentary but great hot water and clean enough. They look like a work in progress. Secure and you can have fires. Generator was a little noisey during the night.

Beautiful place for camping, lots of things for kids to do. Amenities were great, we love hot showers during winter camping 😍 definitely recommend for big group settings too lots of cool places to park your trucks/tents. Definitely going back soon!

As a single mum, I needed a camp spot that was safe for the kids and I, but still felt like we were out bush. Mooneys was perfect for this. We had good facilities in the camp kitchen, our own fire pit, and staff were very friendly. It was great that we could also have our pet poodle with us. Our stay was pleasant.

Location by the Rail Trail was perfect to ride into Hervey Bay, fire pit provided, fire wood, clean amenities. Incredible hot showers. Beautiful private sites. Loved our stay at Moonys.

I had the best time at moony camp, very quiet and toilet and showers are very clean, grass is beautiful and flat for the tents and the stars are amazing to look at while enjoying a fire and some dinner. Will definitely be back ☺️

We went for a quiet weekend. We liked being able to take produce for a small fee for fresh eggs, and greens from the garden to add to our dinner.
Toured into Hervey Bay for a wonder and toured around the local area.
Toilets and showers were clean as is the large camp kitchen.

We had a fantastic stay at Moonys Camp! The sites were spacious and well laid out, offering plenty of room. The kitchen area was impressively complete, equipped with BBQs, microwave, and fridge. We stayed only one night as a strategic base for our K'gari day tour, but would definitely recommend staying longer to fully enjoy the place. Highly recommended!

Stu at Mooney's was a great guy. The camp is well maintained, and facilities are clean and organized. We had gone out for the day and when the wind really picked up Stu contacted us to advise this and had secured our van awning from being damaged with extra tiedowns and pegs which he owned. We were extremely grateful as it could have cost us. The grounds are very flat and level and grassy. Would highly recommend staying here if in the area.

We loved the peace and quiet of this place. The caretaker Stewy, was the friendliest person ever and showed us around everywhere. Basic ammenities that were well maintained, camp kitchen area was fabulous and even a little sand pit and playground for the little ones.
