Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 7 kilometers (6 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton. The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash). The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland. There are eight(8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit. An initial supply of firewood will be provided. There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans. Apart from humans, dogs and cats, the property is inhabited by kangaroos and a variety of birdlife. The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing. So, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable QUIET and relaxing campsite with not too many people around then Buxton Bush Retreat many be just the place for you. No 'midges' or sand flies or dirt/sand camping sites .... all sites are flat and fully grassed and maintained.

This place is such a hidden gem, beautiful well maintained grassy sites , generously spaced apart, abundance of birds and wildlife, we even had a resident kookaburra right at our van. So quiet and peaceful, thank you Brian.

Was such a lovely and quiet camping spot, incredible flat and grassy area with our own firepit. The stars were sensational and Brian is a lovely host who even welcomed us with some firewood to start off with. Definitely a beautiful spot to say the night

Site 8 - Buxton Bush Retreat
If you’re looking for a perfect getaway with no interruptions this is the perfect place for you. We were very fortunate to be the sole campers during our time there. It is without a doubt the most pleasurable atmosphere that has nothing but nature to offer. Brian was there to greet us and there when we left. The camp grounds are pristine and each site is very private with its own fire pit or bring your own. There is an area where you may have a group but either way it is just so tranquil. Being totally with nature, self contained and no internet service was just what these batteries needed.

Site 8 - Buxton Bush Retreat
Brian's camp sites are very secluded, well looked after and very peaceful. They are conveniently located close to the township of Childers, only an hour to Bundaberg or Hervey Bay and serves as a good base to.explore Woodgate Beach, Burrum Heads and beyond. If you are self sufficient, this is a great place to stay.

Gary and the dogs were so lovely on arrival. The sites were mowed and had a little fire place each. It was so quiet and peaceful and perfect for a little night away. Will definitely be back

Brian is lovely, as are his campsites. We were the only ones there on our Mon night stay, so completely quiet. Will choose a different site next time so we don't see any lights from nearby homesteads at all, but otherwise, a totally isolated experience & one we hope we can enjoy again eoth friends. Thanks Brian, you have this set up really well! x

Awesome quiet spot. Privacy at every site and perfectly flat. Free firewood and plenty of birds and roos. Buxton is only 5min away by car or their is a bike path the whole way if you're that way inclined. Great hosts, highly recommend

Nice grassy area. Supplies a good bit of firewood. Abundance of wildlife including kangaroos rabbits/hares butterflies and bird life. Very quiet and relaxing

Buxton Bush Retreat
Brians spot is beyond beauitful, i was surprised we had the whole place to ourselves. Manicured private camp sites with designated firepits and a haul of wood supplied on arrival. Kangaroos jumping around the field and feeding while the sun set, do yourself a favor and spend 2 nights to enjoy nearby Woodgate and Burrum beach, which you can drive on. Cant wait to stay there again.
