ABOUT OUR CAMPGROUND: The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park visitors center is only 1.5 miles away. We are approximately 1.5 hours from Arches and approximately 2 hours from Island in the Sky. You do not need 4wd to get to our place. Set up your own tent in one of the sites YOU CHOOSE YOUR OWN SITE UPON CHECK-IN with a beautiful wide open view of the Needles "hoodoo" rocks with the park only a stone's throw away. BATHHOUSE : There is a Bathhouse with Showers and Flush Toilets. Showers are with a token and must be purchased during store hours. The bathhouse is shared with other campers and gets dirty. We are surrounded by red dirt. Toilets get clogged, it sometimes happens in public bathrooms. It is cleaned everyday. The bathhouse is under renovation but still fully operational. ABOUT THE AREA : There are several hiking trails in the area as well as bicycling & 4 wheel drive trails on BLM (public land).
This IS the Wild, Rustic, Dirty Desert, not for Everyone. This is Camping & keep in mind this is a rugged camping experience not for the faint at heart. The desert is Hot in the summer and cold in the winter, the weather is Unpredictable and you May experience our Wild storms...Monsoon season runs from July-August which is amazing if you are into photography. Be sure to bring proper gear for the rain (if we get any).
You may hear coyotes, see spiders, experience the annoying desert gnats at certain times of the day during the hotter summer season. You will want to bring bug spray, but if you forgot we do sell it in our camp store. If you stay with us you will get the experience of desert camping, wild, raw and rugged. It is an amazing experience to be had, with beautiful views and the feeling of freedom that is hard to find in more civilized and populated locations.
The rocks nearby are kid friendly, great for climbing and taking amazing photos of our fantastic views and gorgeous sunsets.
Hipcamp messages, email, and texts are the best way to reach us. We are off the grid with poor cell phone reception. The WRITTEN DIRECTIONS will be at the bottom of your screen

Great views, decent places with quite a bit of shade. Restrooms are simple but great to have in what is basically the middle of nowhere in a desert.
Friendly staff!
Great spot to camp practically in the Needles area with great views. Having the shower and the store to grab anything you forgot or a beverage was a plus.
Lots of options for campsites when we got there around 1! Alicia in the outpost was nice and everything was good. Bathrooms were clean, though I wouldn't worry about paying $3 for a 5 min shower. They have lots of rules about the 5 pm check-in and quiet hours after 9, but no one really enforced it, so it was quite loud with lots of music, teenagers running around after 9:30, and a good bunch of people coming in after 5 pm. Other than that though, absolutely loved the place! Definitely will be trying to come again!

We would come back here in a heartbeat. Staff were lovely and kind and the location was otherworldly.
Great site in a great location. I wish they had a place to hang a hammock, but everything else was good!
The campsites up against the slickrock are absolutely outstanding, A+ sites. The shop is cute, the staff is friendly, and they have everything you could need, from aspirin to chips to dehydrated eggs. My main focus was on the ice cream! There are board games to rent, and a community library shelf. I don’t know if people fully appreciate how great it is to be able to take a shower this close to the Needles. It’s five minutes; more than enough time. (They truck all their water in). The tipi was a very cool experience for one night also. Amber and Caleb are usually very easy to find and are more than eager to help with any requests, though I did not have any. The Needles Outpost is a fabulous place to make as your basecamp for trips to the Needles District. I will be definitely be back!
We loved camping beneath the red rock with sweeping uninterrupted views of the Needles.
Great campsites, and the cashier helping me out in the store was great! Also, it’s worth climbing the boulders behind campsites 1, 2, and 3, trust me
