Indian Canyon Ranch is a rugged, isolated, off grid property which focuses on enjoying the outdoor beauty of our little corner of the spectacular American Southwest.
Please be advised, that during heavy rain four-wheel drive may be necessary but in all cases low clearance vehicles are not ideal on the last section of road but if you go slow any vehicle can make it. The good news is that we have done a major upgrade on the road and it's much less intimidating now but If you arrive after dark the last bit of road still looks more challenging than it actually is due to shadows on the surface caused by the head lights. Please plan to show up before dark for the best experience and ease of finding the location. Units are not heated, please bring drinking water but water is available in the bathroom and kitchen.
Indian Canyon Ranch is proud to be an independent, off grid property with limited solar power and water available. There are no RV hook ups available but there is limited solar power in the rental units and in the communal area but not in the primitive campsites. Campsites are primitive camping only. Showers in the main communal area are solar powered and only hot with the sun and for an hour or so after sunset. Please conserve water at all times.
Joe purchased this property in 2008. At that time, it was 8 acres, and it is now at 20 acres continuous property. The ranch is situated 2 miles off the highway down a bumpy dirt road on the edge of the national forest, this gives you a feeling of being in the wilderness. The south and east sides are boarded by canyons and ruins. All other private properties in the area are 10 acres or more so are well spread out and sparsely populated.
All the structures on site were brought here piece by piece and were salvaged from construction projects in Yosemite and Grand Canyon national parks. Water is manually hauled in and the power in the kitchen area is solar generated so please be conscious of water and power use.

The Moab Field Office, administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), takes up 1.8 million acres of gorgeous canyon-riddled lands. Spend your days hunting for natural arches and bridges, exploring mesas, and contemplating how the heck rocks can look so crazy. We just stayed at James and Linda’s Adventure Haven for 5 nights and could not have asked for a better setup. Our entire stay there were only 3 sites being used at one time and it felt super private as the sites have ample space between them so you’re not right on top of each other like some of the other more populated RV camps. We had unobstructed views of the La Sal mountains every morning and the sunsets at night were unreal! The long term site renters Cat and Heather were the best neighbors ever. Astro (our Boston Terrier) loved exploring the camp site as well as all the nearby hiking options. Just a short 30 min drive from Moab you can hit all the cool hikes/swimming holes/creeks/national parks while also beating the over 100 degree weather at the end of the day as this site is higher elevation making it much cooler than the fault. Do not pass up the opportunity to stay here if you’re planning a visit to the Moab area.

James & Linda are wonderful hosts. Very helpful, accommodating & knowledgeable about the area. We stayed 5 days, as our base camp, while exploring. Went to see Arches & Canyonlands National Parks, also, Dead Horse Point & Looking Glass Rock. Visited Moab too.
Adventure Haven RV park is a little out of the way, yet close to all we wanted to see & more. And due to the location, it was very quiet & very dark (ideal for star gazing). We enjoyed our stay!

The Lavender farm was just the medicine I needed on my cross country trip. From the moment I arrived I was greeted and felt like i was the most special guest they had. The photos on their website do not do justice to the beautiful environment they created. The stagecoach that I stayed in was super cool and had everything I needed. Breakfast was fantastic too. I had the opportunity to work the farm for several hours and had a great time. Travis, Katie, Annie and Clay are amazing hosts. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. Looking forward to bringing my wife back next year.

A most magical, beautiful farm with lovely humans and Chaco the sweetest boy dog. The wagon was well appointed- we could live there happily as it is roomy, practical and peaceful. And the breakfasts- every day was another wonderful meal made with care and consideration, better than any restaurant for sure, thanks to Annie and Clay. The Sunset camp is at a great location: close to an ancestral Puebloan site and a natural bridge. The Sunset camp is also very close to town and highway 191 - very convenient location. I suggest the owners should let their guests know that the camp is close to working ranches.

This is a magical place. We stayed in the Chasing Moon Tipi with two adults and a 10-year-old and it was more than perfect! Excellent amenities. Cool hosts, kid friendly, super clean. Warm showers. Artsy vibes. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need from an air fryer, to a stove, to a French press, to a kettle, to a toaster oven, to a microwave, to a coffee maker, filtered water and an ice machine for drinking. Honestly, if there's a complaint about this place, it's not the place that's the problem. We also met some super interesting and kind people. I would recommend this place to all of my friends.

Bright Star campground is an AMAZING place! It's situated close to Mesa Verde, has amazing views (sunsets/sunrises are incredible), and is clean and extremely well-kept and managed. The common area is a fantastic oasis with many fun things to explore, fun games, a wonderful art-making station, and a great large shaded area for the summer sun. If you're into meeting interesting people this is a both a great hub for interaction or solo relaxation. The kitchen is very well-stocked, clean, with plenty of room to accommodate several cooking campers without feeling cramped. Best of all are all the wonderful personal touches that Kent and his partner have put into the whole campground. I don't want to call out too much but there are many fun surprises here. The love, care, and creativity put in to Bright Star is more than evident. Kent was a responsive, kind, knowledgeable host, and fun to talk with. I felt fully restored and creatively inspired after my stay at Bright Star—its magic worked wonders for me!

I absolutely loved staying here at Ramble! The hosts were extremely friendly, approachable, and hospitable. The grounds had everything we needed and more—flushable toilets, hot showers, movie nights, fire pits, grills, etc! Truly a beautiful piece of land with super cool critters! Can’t recommend enough!
