We had a great 3-night Easter/Anniversary getaway at Bright Star Farm in our little camper, Bonnie Sue. We enjoyed the country atmosphere, including being around the animals - horses, peacocks, chickens, etc. The location is easy to get to. Steve met us there as we arrived, showed us where to park, gave us info on the restroom location and supplied an electrical extension. The restroom was a nice sink and toilet, but no shower. Bonnie Sue has a shower, so no issue for us. Water pressure was great and everything worked well. We were going to go into New Bern, but ended up just enjoying the sunshine and peacefulness at the farm. We did visit Kinston one night to eat at Vivian Howard's restaurant, Chef & The Farmer, which was very good and unique. There is a Dollar General 5 miles away if you need anything, so that's good. Steve & Connie were great hosts. We will definitely go back to this location again in the future!

Bright star Farm is a wonderful place for a quiet retreat if you love a country setting. My friends and I spent the weekend relaxing and enjoying all the country and farm animal sounds. We built a fire, made great meals and had lots of laughs. The hosts were fabulous. It's definitely not a place for rambunctious children, but definitely a place for a quiet getaway. A 10 out of 10 for simply relaxing!

My friends and I had a lovely, relaxing stay here! The farm is gorgeous and rustic and being right next to the horse pasture was such a treat. Watching the sun set with the horses running in the field was beautiful. The bathroom was very clean and we appreciated the very short walk to it because we got to see the little horse on the way! Our host was welcoming and helpful. We definitely plan to come back:)

We enjoyed our stay at Bright Star Farm. It was nice and quiet. The directions were clear and the spot was very nice. They have a nice bathroom. We enjoyed seeing the peacocks and the miniature horses were adorable. It was nice getting a bit of history from the owners and the were super friendly! Would definitely recommend.

Great place to camp! The hosts were friendly and accommodating on the initial greet. They live there on the property but felt private as it's the only tent site. Would absolutely stay again.

This was our first Hipcamp stay & it could not have gone any better! Steven & Connie we're the perfect hosts. They were extremely personable, maintained great communication before the trip, & welcomed us when we first arrived, fresh eggs in hand. Their pull-through RV spot provides close access to water & electricity hookups, if you need them. We took day trips from their farm to historic New Bern, & Kinston for events along the Neuse River. Their location was quite, with wonderful animals, to include beautiful peacocks. We plan to keep in touch & look forward to staying with them again!

What a beautiful spot and wonderful hosts! We arrived on the later side and our hosts were there to help get us settled - yay for power and water - and introduce us to their animals and the history of their property. The bathroom was a welcome bonus - very clean and spacious. We loved the peace and quiet of Bright Star Farm! We’d highly recommend stopping here.

Absolutely loved staying on this cute little farm. The bathroom was a great perk considering we had kids. There was so much room to play and relax. The hosts were so kind and welcoming. They gave us farm fresh eggs and the kids loved it. Will definitely come back when we can stay a little longer.

This place is absolutely beautiful and just what I needed. Connie and Steve's land and home/ranch are beautiful and they were very helpful and accommodating. I felt very safe yet very private. They are wonderful people and are so willing and eager to help in any way they can. I definitely will be going back. This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was the best!!

Great stopover for the night. Steve met us for a quick tour including lots of fun animals and an offer of farm fresh eggs. Luxurious restroom with plumbing after a few days of composting toilets and port-a-johns. Highly recommend.

This was a great camp site with a really nice bathroom. We were given eggs upon arrival and they were delicious. We were able to use the hiking trails. There was a fire pit with 3 chairs and plenty of room for tents. The kids enjoyed looking at the animals. Especially the peacock.

This place was awesome! We really enjoy the peacefulness!! Connie and Steve were very nice, they greeted us, brought fresh eggs, explained everything and then gave us privacy! The kids enjoyed petting the animals and running the field!! We had fresh pecans as well!! Very nice place to get your mind off life!! We are coming back for sure!!

My family of five had such a nice stay at Bright Star Farm! We were welcomed upon arrival with fresh eggs and an explanation about everything we needed to know about the property. The hosts were very friendly and they made sure they gave us privacy! Our kids loved all the animals, especially Rocket! We will definitely be going back.

Some say where the blacktop ends. Not quite the case but it’s where my cell service ended. This was a great place to get away from the distractions of the world. Set up your chairs beside the barn and watch the sunset over the trees. It’s worth it. No light pollution so the stars really shine. Definitely a great place to stay.

It lives up to its name! There were so many beautiful stars out at night and it was a gorgeous view for sunrise and sunset. My little ones loved all the animals and the hosts were very gracious! They do have a rather vocal rooster who wakes up early if you need to sleep in haha, it was no big deal for us! We loved the farm!

Chairs are provided to savor the lovely sunset view over a quiet pasture on this family farm. Connie and Steve have interesting pets such as Eeyore the Donkey, pea cocks and hens, a yellow rooster, a super friendly cat and green tree frogs. Young children will especially enjoy meeting horses just their size. Since there are no trees by the camp site, bring a shade canopy if you plan to stay during high summer. The rest room has hot and cold running water. Firewood is stacked near the fire pit.
