This land was inhabited by the Ancient Anasazi and Pueblo people. The Anasazi Heritage Museum and archeological ruins are two miles away. There are ruins and sites on this land that have yet to be excavated. Many different ancient people came through this land, left and sites were inhabited by other people. One group of people would come and build upon the sites of another group, and taking part of their culture with them.

Circle C Tent Camping
The location of this site was close to many of our sight seeing to-do’s around Mesa Verde. A few things to be cognizant of: the tent sites are not well marked at the actual sites, but there is a map on the door of the clubhouse that will direct you; ask for the code to the clubhouse before you arrive - the toilet near the tent sites is broken so you’ll need to walk to the clubhouse; the road noise is pretty noticeable - we did not bring a fan and that would’ve helped.

Rustic Sheep Herder Cabin
Our experience was interesting at the Rustic Sheep Herder Cabin, but ultimately we ended up really enjoying it.
We really loved the privacy the site us and the views were phenomenal. Plus the club house really had all the amenities we needed.
We were a little surprised to arrive at the site to find trash and left camping equipment around the site, unable to open the windows in the cabin and only a tiny battery powered fan to ventilate.
Once we were able to cook the cabin down, it was everything we needed and a nice and enjoyable style. I would note, this is not an ideal place if you intend to travel with a pet and leave them in the cabin for the day.

Close to National Park Service Site
I enjoyed my time at Circle C RV Park. It was very close to all the National Park Sites (Hovenweep NM, Yucca House NM, Mesa Verda NP, and Canyon of the Ancients NM) I wanted to visit. I was the only one in my area of the campgrounds. I had my dog with me and she enjoyed all the new smells.

Quiet and Secluded
Secluded camp site near many local attractions. Mesa Verde is 20min away as well as many local rafting opportunities when the rivers are running.

I loved staying at the tent location here!! It was pretty, the location was small and separate from other camp sites! Only thing is the bathroom was broken so we had to walk a little further to use a different one!
