Site 1 - Canyon Trails Ranch Tent sites
My husband and I, plus our two dogs, loved tent camping at Canyon Trails Ranch! We were able to meet and talk with Rodney and Joe, who were both so kind and welcoming. It was great having a place to shower on site, and the chuck wagon cooking area was a fun place to whip up some meals. Would highly recommend!

Conestoga Wagon
We stayed in the Conestoga wagon during a heavy rain and wind storm and enjoyed the sound of the storm. The wagon is warm, and welcoming and very roomy. The views from the front door are lovely and we were able to take a long walk on the private road. Rodney and family were so very kind and friendly. I would highly recommend staying in this quiet haven.

This was a beautiful location. Rodney and Family were great. It was early season and we were the only ones here and it was super special to have the place to ourselves.

Site 3 - Canyon Trails Ranch RV no Stall
So much thought, and love went into the design of this awesome place! The views of Sleeping Ute Mountain are superb! The amenities are great, a bit of a walk to the bath house but can enjoy the night sky on the way. We especially loved the chuck wagon dining area, with fire pits, propane grill, and nostalgic throwback to an earlier era. Super nice hosts - the antithesis to KOA franchise experience. You won’t be disappointed!

The Rancher Wagon
Wonderful winter stay! Amazing surroundings, was only one there when my dog and I stayed. The wood burning stove was warm and the space was very well put together. Lots of great potential for group trip with friends / family.

Canyon Trails Ranch ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This site is .25 miles from the Sand Canyon Trailhead at Canyon of the Ancients, and sits at the base of Sleeping Ute Mountain. Because of the cold weather we were dry camping, and didn’t have access to water at the site because of freezing temps, but still had electric hookups for our camper. The views at Rodney’s property are stunning, and he very graciously gave us a tour of his ranch and shop which are located just down the road from the campsite. He also recommended lunch at the Lounging Lizard in Cortez, which we hit on our way to the Canyons of the Ancient’s Visitor Center and Museum after hiking in the Monument the previous day, and the food there was excellent! This is a beautiful place to camp, with unparalleled access to hiking in the Monument….would definitely camp here again!
