Better than your typical RV Park (unless you like that sorta thing). We visited in very early Spring, so the ground was quite soft and wet, but that's to be expected. The site was flat, and having access to water, electricity, and sewer right there was very nice.
The mountain views were beautiful. However, the site is right next to the garage of a large log home. This was not depicted in the pictures or description, so we were pretty surprised when we pulled in.
We were able to bring all three of our dogs, which was great. But be aware, the neighbor lets his dogs roam. They kept coming to our campsite, barking and becoming aggressive toward our dogs.

This spot is great — Full hook-ups. Views are gorgeous. Grounds are well-kept. Area feels safe. There’s even a “hidden little gem” if you hike up the short trek on back of the property to find the gorgeous view overlooking the small lake behind the property. It’s amazing. My favorite little surprise!! The only negative was that it was a holiday weekend, and there was some sort of motorcycle convention or event going on in Durango, and this made the road noise from the campsite seem excessive. (Though it may not be that way at other times…). ??? This was really the only unenjoyable aspect. Everything else was positive, and I’m happy we found this beautiful little spot to get away.

The site is flat and has all the services needed for a RV camper. Easy access and located within sight of the Hosts home so there is good security. Beautiful forest area around the property.

Had a nice quiet peaceful weekend. No other campers but us. Beautiful surroundings grass trees open area . We would stay there again. A huge difference from campers lined up like apartments.

This is a better alternative to crowded RV parks for sure, we were however less than thrilled with the proximity to the house (50 feet) and the busy highway (100 feet). You are basically parked on an RV pad behind the main house. Not sure the price is worth it for these reasons. Morris, the host, responded quickly
To texts and had there not been a lot of bugs we would have taken advantage of the games he had available.

Beautiful view from the RV pad. The site is very close to the owner’s garage, but it wasn’t an issue at all. Owners were very nice and accommodating. A small stream running right behind the camper that my kids had a blast playing in. Will definitely stay here again.

This place is pretty cool. It's a beautiful space. It's an individual home, not large a RV site (be advised). There's 2 or 3 slips for RV's and they're very close to the main house. But it's certainly more remote than the other RV places near Durango. Good hookups, though the wifi is pretty weak. The one thing that stood out to us was the confederate flags hanging off the balcony – that made us pretty uncomfortable.

Perfectly quiet and beautiful! Great overnight on our way up Hwy 550.
Host was wonderful and brought us wood for a fire. Hookups worked perfectly and the site was level. Easy to get into and out of with our 25’ C. Great stay!

Very quiet and beautiful. The RV pad is closer to the Ranch house than pictures show however this was no big deal.

This was a lovely place to camp. Perfect location close to Purgatory and the Nordic Center. So much snow, but no problems getting in or out. Perfect spot.

Absolutely loved this Hipcamp for camping in our Motorhome. Full hookups in a beautiful setting. Why would anyone choose a campground if this spot is available?
50amp power with water and sewer. Nice fire pit and picnic tables on site.

Beautiful place to stay. Very well maintained. Super close the many attractions, less than an hour to Mesa Verde, right along the million dollar highway, close to town, great local market, the narrow gauge train. Can’t say enough. Fit our 45 foot rig very well. Just FYI if you drive a big rig would make sure to get fuel ahead of time as there aren’t many places that can take a big rig in town and would unhook your tow prior to turning in, there’s a few places along the road right before the entrance to the ranch.

Like pulling into a private resort. Absolutely gorgeous spot, great communication (even offered early check in since the site had not had a guest the night before we arrived, which was incredibly helpful to us!) and we loved the recommendations for the area. Full hookups, spacious RV pad, with unique touches like a great tractor seat high top table, quiet nights and fantastic location for a hike at Haviland Lake or a day at Purgatory Resort. Would love to return!

Almostaranch was great. Nicely situated right next to the San Juan National Forest. There is an amazing (and large) horse ranch next door with horses to ride (for a fee, of course). Morris was very nice. He greeted us upon arrival. There is only 1 site, which is great. It has 50/30/20 amp connections and fresh water (with a heated pipe if you are there in the winter). Also, they did a great job with a couple of tables and a fire pit right next to the pad. Very nicely done! Just know that you will be right next to the house - it's almost like you're in the driveway, so not the most private place, but the scenery is beautiful!

This ranch/sure was absolutely gorgeous. The RV pad was tucked away in a quiet are of the property with stunning views. The host was responsive and accommodating. Sure has full hookups and there's a cute table with built in chairs and a picnic table with umbrella and grill and fire pit. Honestly it was fantastic. I highly recommend. I would've loved to stay another day!

The space is beautiful and set up well for just about any rig. Very thoughtful placement with large peaks and shady trees. We especially appreciated how it was dog-friendly and such great communication by the host! Close proximity to Purgatory Ski Resort. Would definitely stay again!
