Bright Angel debacle
When a camp site is memorable it offers a dust free atmosphere with surroundings enabling a gathering of folks about a camp fire, facilities for basic needs that are welcoming and convenient, and maybe somewhat of a prediction of normal weather patterns one may experience. This camp site offers none of these desirable traits.
It was: Windy, not similar to pictures, desolate, smelly pit toilets. Expensive for what we got. Not conducive to campfires with the gusts of wind. Not a good experience. Called mgr, didn’t stay second night, no refund.

Lrg TIPI`Campground Near MESA VERDE
The tipi was a fun divergence from traditional quarters. What a beautiful setting. And, El was such a personable and knowledgeable host. Really enjoyed it all!

UTE #2 Campsite w/Amenities & Views
Clean & Peaceful
Camping at Bright Star was as described, but even more peaceful than expected. The hosts were good at communication, friendly, and accommodating. The camp had simple amenities (the way I like it) and was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked and very convenient.
A Labor Day weekend stay brought an hour downpour amid temperature in the 70-80s, and a magnificent sunset that was breathtaking amid the late summer wild flowers all over the camp.

From South Carolina—Road Trip
Fantastic spot for us to use as base camp for exploring! The site felt very private despite the proximity to rental home. We stayed 2 nights with our dogs. Grilled at night and enjoyed the sunset and stars. In addition, Cortez is a super cool little town and Mancos is a surprisingly cool town! Went into Durango to find something cool to bring home from trip….wish we had shopped in Mancos!
The campsite felt extremely safe and comfortable. It was a nice place to have to unwind at the end of the day. ~~SC
