🌲 Welcome to the Pines! 🌲 Looking for a peaceful mountain getaway with plenty of room to relax, explore, and reconnect with nature? You've found it! Our full-hookup RV site sits on 3 wooded acres and offers a peaceful retreat where you can relax, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the beauty of the Southwest Colorado mountains. The campsite is tucked away with its own private driveway and spacious acre or so, giving you plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your stay. Whether you're gathering around the fire pit under a sky full of stars, sipping your morning coffee while listening to the birds, or planning your next day's adventure, you'll find the perfect balance of comfort and wilderness here. We are a small homestead with free-range chickens, a large garden, and a greenhouse. While you'll enjoy your own private camping space, you'll also get a glimpse of the simple joys of forest rural homesteading. Please note that some older reviews mention an RV rental. That RV is no longer available, and the space is now offered exclusively as a private RV campsite with full hookups. Our location makes an ideal home base for exploring some of Colorado's most incredible destinations. Mesa Verde National Park is only 20 minutes away, and the breathtaking San Juan Mountains are within easy reach. Bring your Jeep, ATV, mountain bike, fishing gear, hiking boots, or simply your sense of adventure. If you enjoy exploring old mining roads and historical sites, you'll love the many opportunities nearby. We are always happy to share local recommendations, and Doug, our resident geologist, enjoys sharing fascinating stories about the area's unique geology and mining history. Mountain bikers will find themselves close to two of the region's premier trail systems: Phil's World and Boggy Draw. Both offer miles of incredible riding for beginners and experienced riders alike. Need to stay connected? We have excellent Verizon cell service and provide Starlink Wi-Fi for our guests. Summit Lake is just a short quarter mile from the property. Spend the day fishing, enjoying the beach area, or simply relaxing by the water. The surrounding area also offers countless hiking opportunities, scenic drives, wildlife viewing, photography spots, and hidden gems await!!🌲 Other Things to Note • Your campsite is private and fenced, making it a wonderful space for well-behaved dogs to enjoy some freedom. The driveway entrance is open but can easily be blocked with your vehicle or a portable pet gate. • We are a small homestead with free-range chickens, gardens, and greenhouse projects, although you'll probably never see us, you may get a glimpse of country life happening around the property. Let us know if your kids would like to collect eggs or meet the hens. :) • Star-filled skies are one of our favorite features. On clear nights, you'll enjoy incredible milky way views. • Wildlife is abundant in the area. Deer, wild turkeys, foxes, rabbits, bears and a variety of birds are frequent visitors. Please respect wildlife and never leave food unattended. • The site is easily accessible year-round and conveniently located just off Highway 184. You may hear occasional rural highway traffic, especially during daytime hours. • Fire restrictions can occur during dry Colorado summers. We will keep guests informed of any current restrictions before arrival. • We love sharing local tips! If you're looking for hidden hiking trails, scenic drives, fishing spots, or local restaurants, just ask. Most importantly, come prepared to slow down, breathe the mountain air, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of life in the pines.
