Cortez markets and restaurants are just 10 minutes away. Durango is an hour away, Telluride is 1½ hours, and Moab is 2 hours. We are naturalists, so if you have questions about birds, dragonflies, butterflies, or fireflies (yes, fireflies!), such as the best places to see them besides your campsite, just ask us! We also worked in the field of archaeology and can help you choose sites to visit—like Mesa Verde National Park or Canyons of the Ancients. We encourage you to connect with the natural world as well as the ancient cultures of this region. Four Corners' Dragonfly Camp exists on the ancestral lands of the Puebloan and Ute peoples. This is a dry site—please bring your own water and toilet. Showers are available at the Cortez Recreation Center, just 10 minutes away. Please pack out what you pack in, including human waste, for now. Plans for a composting toilet are in the works for next spring!

An absolute dream! My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Sunset on property was gorgeous! The trails around camp were super fun. Friendly staff. Our pour-over site was tucked away, beautiful, felt safe. Grounds were clean and stocked.

Loved it! A high open plain ringed with mountains: Mesa Verde and Ute close, Telluride, San Juans and Bears Ears on the horizon. Immaculately clean and generous kitchen and dining/hanging out areas. The tent/RV sites are very basic but the rest makes up. Great hosts, dark sky. Didn’t see inside the cabins but the hogan was lovely.

I loved dry camping at Mexican Hat Rocks! What a gorgeous site! The individual campsites are well-marked. It appeared an access gate was being installed during our stay, which is good. Several cars pulled off beyond the large area next to the road and drove into the campground to park in the roads and empty campsites to take photos. That's an issue the access gate will solve. Fantastic experience overall!

Very private tent site, incredible view of Cortez and the mountains in the distance. Nice for stargazing too. The tent sites were so private no one would know you were there. Nice rustic cg. The facilities were clean and maintained. Every possible kitchen appliance was available for your use. As a tent camper the elephant in the room was the road noise. I understand that's not something the owner can control but for some it could be a deal breaker - generally I was so tired from hiking it did not matter.

I car camped here and had a super sweet one-night stay where all my needs were met. The land is beautiful, gorgeous sunset and sunrise, and it was sweet to have communal space like the kitchen, showers, bathrooms, and more. The camp hosts were very sweet and welcoming! I would definitely camp here again and would recommend it.
