We are a family-owned RV park and tiny home village located 50 minutes from the east entrance to Grand Canyon National Park and only 20 minutes north of Flagstaff, Arizona. Our family -- Adam, Shelley, Zoe, Ava, and Cairo -- purchased the RV park in 2021. **** WE NOW HAVE A CAR CHARGING STATION**** The property was a trading post for decades but had fallen into disrepair. We have been busy painting, cleaning and improving the grounds to become a comfortable oasis for your family. Our location on US Hwy 89 on the east side of the highway is only a few miles from the breathtaking aspens of Lockett Meadow, the ruins of Wupatki National Monument and the lava flows at Sunset Crater. The park is a short drive to downtown Flagstaff, and on the way to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Moab and Durango. Stay the night or as long as you like! Drink in the hibiscus sunrises above the Painted Desert and relax into the long shadows of the San Francisco Peaks. Our sunsets and night star-gazing are just spectacular and we're enough off the beaten path that there's no crowds or traffic to deal with, but you are close to dining and area attractions.
This is a quiet, rural neighborhood and a peaceful farm that borders the National Forest for easy hiking and few neighbors. The farm animals do cluck, crow, whinny, neigh, baa, bleat, squeal, and oink at various times, including early morning.
There is one mile of a somewhat bumpy gravel road with hills to reach our neighborhood, so please make sure you are ready for that and have adequate towing power. The nearest services and dining are 5 minutes away. We are about 25-30 minutes to Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek,
and the popular red rock hiking sites. There are many wineries and dining right down the road to enjoy.
1 hour to Flagstaff, 2 hours to Phoenix.

Nearby activities include: bird watching, hiking, river rafting or tubing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, stargazing, and rockhounding. This area conforms to the Arizona Dark Sky initiative, and while we are not dark-sky certified, we've had several guests compliment us on our beautiful skys. When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study.
We gladly welcome pets, as long as you take care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess and filling in any holes. Well mannered, friendly dogs may be unleashed from time to time. Please, PLEASE watch your small pets carefully. If you're traveling with cats, please keep them on a lead.
There is a riding academy and boarding facility adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders, hikers and cyclists to travel along the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood, a pleasant 30 minute walk through lush riparian area.
Hawks Hideaway is a family owned property, occupied by a 3rd and 4th generation, mother-son team. Two generations have lived and died here before us and we are proud to be the custodians of this majestic property, full of old growth, gigantic cottonwood trees. A birdwatcher, or naturalists dream.
Hawks Hideaway is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde River Greenway. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature.
Hawks Hideaway is next to many miles of wilderness. You may see or encounter wildlife of all kinds, most are harmless, some are dangerous. It is your responsibility to know the difference. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects.
You are responsible for your own safety and are camping here at you own risk. Please do not interact with any wild animals. If you encounter something and need help, please reach out to us. We live on the property and are readily available.

You have the entire road to travel on and maneuver around the big bumps. I drive my car to the property ever time and don't have an issue if I slow down and go around large holes. If there is a recent storm in the area the road will be difficult to navigate.

This is the place to be for Big Dark Skies. Horizon to horizon views, no neighbors, and no big cities nearby. As the listings say, also no amenities, and the dirt road is rutted (but not very long). It is very pleasant if you come prepared. I got some great milkyway photos with a DSLR and deep space photos through a telescope. There is just a hint of sky glow from Valle and from Flagstaff but it is very localized on the horizon.

Sacred Springs is truly one of those places that stays with your heart long after you leave. From the moment I arrived, I felt wrapped in peace, love, and nature’s magic. Being able to cook a meal in the community room made everything feel so homey and special — like gathering with family in the middle of the wilderness.
One of my favorite moments was getting to use the kayaks and paddle boards on the lazy river and in the grotto. Floating through that serene canyon water felt like stepping into a hidden paradise. And don’t even get me started on the fresh organic chicken eggs — absolutely delicious and such a beautiful touch of farm-to-table love!🍳
I also couldn’t resist the adorable Sacred Springs hat and sweatshirt — they’re not just cute, they feel like a little piece of this magical place I get to take home with me.🥰

Great campsite! Has bathrooms and trash cans. No showers. It has water the is drinkable… but it’s yellow and tastes very metallic. Sites 1, 2, and 3 are first come first serve. The website doesn’t say this but the host said that is the case.
My wife and I stayed so we could visit Sedona. It is right on Oak Creek so there is always the calming sound of rushing water. The sites are all well maintained. The bathrooms could have used some cleaning as there was a strong smell if you got too close. You get a small amount of traffic noise but it is rarely not noticeable.
Site 11 is the best. Sites 1 and 7 are closest to the bathroom. That wouldn’t keep me from booking them is retrospect but would get another one if possible.
The location makes up for all its short comings. Great stay and would stay again

Just came back from a three day camping trip and my wife and I stayed at Manzanita. It was one of the best campsites we've visited. Dennis, one of the camp hosts, was available and friendly, and made us feel at home. This is a tent-only campsite and it gave the campgrounds a cozier vibe. We reserved Site 18, and we had a lot of space to move around and we were very close to the creek. There is drinking water available from a pump and although the vault toilets are a bit smelly, I saw Dennis and crew cleaning the restrooms frequently. Lots of people there, but thankfully everyone was really kind and everyone was following distancing measures and wearing masks when appropriate. All-in-all, it was amazing and we would definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay at Canyon Vista Campground. It's remarkably close to the city, Flagstaff, but tucked away in the forest, it feels remote. We went in June 2019, and it wasn't crowded at all. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. They came by and checked that we had everything we needed and offered us water. They gave us a general idea of the campground. They had installed little motion sensor lights in the bathroom, so you don't have to fumble with phones or flashlights to use the loo. They have a box of reading materials, books, maps, etc. like a little free library set up. They had 5 wonderful dogs, all leashed, controlled and super friendly and adorable. A few are trained therapy dogs, just wonderful sweet, quiet dogs. It was so

Average campsite near a highway, the real draw to this place is the incredible climbing access nearby.

Agree with Ryan's review! Epic RV spots, and still decent for tent camping. The camp host was awesome. Ideally, I would go back when there are less mosquitos, just remember to bring bug spray!

Great campground along Oak Creek. Reservations are needed pretty much all year. The campground is along 89A a pretty busy road with traffic between Sedona and Flagstaff. Great hikes across the road.

Located 1 mile from Sunset Crater, this campsite's location is perfect. The sites are large and each have a fire pit. The bathrooms are very clean with flush toilets. You can buy firewood on site and the forest is just beautiful. It was the quietest night sleep I have ever had at a campground. The hosts were terrific. We paid $24 for a tent site.

The dirt road to the campground seems like you're in the middle of nowhere, but eventually you pull up the the campground and see the beautiful lake! (My Toyota Corolla did just fine on the dirt road--not sure how it would be in winter). When we arrived, there was maybe one other person there--I love a quiet campsite! The fire pit and tent area was great and so close to the water! I went mid-September, so it got pretty chilly at night, but as long as you have a good sleeping bag and blankets, you should be fine! My dog also enjoyed sniffing and exploring the area surrounding the lake. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a peaceful escape near Flagstaff!

Right along the road, so try to reserve a spot as far away as possible to buffer sound. No showers available at the campground.

This campground was such a good basecamp for a couple of days of adventuring in Sedona. It's super small... only 20 sites or so. Half are reservation, and from what we can tell, they get booked pretty far in advance. We snagged the last of the first come sites when we arrived. The hosts, Brian and Moon, are the best. Brian makes a point to chat with everyone staying there, knows when you are leaving, and makes sure that you have everything you need. Campsites are all raked and cleaned up as soon as you leave. The bathrooms were the cleanest pit toilets I have ever seen. If you wander down past the hosts a bit, there is a great swimming hole to cool off in after a dusty mountain bike ride.

The road in will make you think it's yet another AZ forest road that promises a lake but fails to deliver -- but stick with it! Happy the Dog and I visited September 23, 2016, late in the year -- camp hosts advised that freezing temperatures were expected that night, but I bundled up and slept like a bug in a rug. No one but us at the site. It was so peaceful in the morning that I pulled out a good book and enjoyed the solitude for 8 wonderful hours. As the sun rose, I peeled off first hat, then jacket, then sweatshirt, then shirt, enjoying the cool warmth on my skin while drinking coffee and watching the lake. Stayed way longer than I expected, but left refreshed and invigorated.

This is a very nice remote place to camp at, however it is over run with NAU students in the camp ground. I was there last Friday night and a group of five guys were making loud noises all night. It sounded as if they were shaping sheet metal with loud banging. They then started back up with the loudness at 6:00am! During the day you have massive amounts of cars arriving from the valley to do day hiking. The camping areas are bathed in dust all day as cars come and go. Over all the area is over stressed with people using the facilities. If you want a nice quite camping experience I would skip this place!

A nearly hidden turn off about 10 minutes north of Sedona.
Crickets nearly drown out the sound of the water flowing down Oak Creek.
Incredibly lush and well shaded, very welcome after travelling through the AZ and CA deserts most of the day.
Berry bushes line the creek and small trail that lead to a rock outcropping above a nearby swimming hole.
No RVs, no generators, simple pit toilets. Everything is clean and well maintained. Firewood is available onsite for about 7 bucks per bundle.
Located halfway between Sedona and Slide Rock, there are plenty of options on how to spend your day. Or just relax in a hammock next to the creek.
This was a real gem to find, and I look very forward to returning to Manzanita.

I imagine this is a prime spot for RVers, but pretty average for tent campers. Close to town, which can be good or bad. Right off a main highway, so you hear a ton of traffic during the day. Add to that airplanes flying in low. Take away all the noise and this place would be great. Lots of trees. Some chipmunks were playing right out side my tent when I woke up. Best part is the camp host. The guy obviously takes pride in his work. My site, which I had no reservation for, was freshly raked upon arrival. I noticed him making his rounds to everything on his to-do list. Very nice guy. Would definitely recommend if the background noise isn't an issue for you. Really a beautiful place.

Although it's situated along the 89A, Pine Flat is still a great spot to call home for a night on your Sedona/Oak Creek getaway. This is a very popular campground so plan ahead and/or get there super early. The camp host is awesome and may be able to work with you if there is a last minute opening.
Most of the sites are shaded at least in part of the day by the surrounding ponderosa pines. The back end of the grounds bumps up against Oak creek with small trails you can easily access. Just north of the campground is a natural spring which many locals and visitors alike stop by to fill up their water bottles. Directly across the street from that is the trailhead for Cookstove Trail that runs in a loop for 1.6 miles to Cave Springs. Do it!

We visited here over Memorial Day weekend 2016 and loved it. Had no trouble finding a site and people were coming and going daily without issue. Many sites can accommodate travel trailers. We opted for a spot away from the cliff edge since we were traveling with small children and toddlers, but if you have older children or none at all I would highly recommend picking a spot near the edge. The views are phenomenal looking down on tree tops, offering a great sunrise view.
The camp hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. There are several bathrooms and potable water, but no showers. Sites are $8/night.
All sites are surrounded by countless ponderosa pines providing plenty of shade.

Although we weren't technically at the campground, we camped right near here, back in the trees a little bit, over Memorial Day weekend. Even though it was busy and there were lots of fellow adventurers out, there are SO many spots in this area that we didn't have too much of a problem finding a secluded place to set up. The views overlooking the Mogollon Rim are incredible, and the lush undergrowth of ferns makes this Ponderosa forest unique to Arizona's norm. We loved exploring with our pup to find grassy meadows, little streams, and lots of elk and bear tracks. The weather was really nice during the day and pretty chilly at night. Woke up to a howling coyote some time in the early morning. We'll be heading back here for sure!

This is a beautiful campground along oak creek in the canyon of its namesake. It's only a few miles from sedona, so it's s great place for a basecamp. There's also a few trails accessible from the CG itself. It is a bit higher in elevation than sedona & mostly shaded in the pine forest so it is much cooler than sedona proper. Get there early because sites go fast.

Noob or veteran - Jack's Delivers!!! Primitive sites with vault toilets. Drive on Highway 87 for roughly 30 miles to mile marker 314. About .3 miles past this pull off right at a gate. From the gate, continue straight on a well maintained dirt road til you hit the sites. Be prepared to make friends because you will no doubt find yourself among fellow climbers and beer-toting outdoorsians. There is no water in the area so bring your own.From the sites, it's a short hike down into the canyon and days of climbing adventure!! Watch the sun and plan your climbing spots to stay cool (or warm depending on season).

One of the best campgrounds in AZ - imo. Stock up in Flag just before heading out of town and get into the wilderness! It's a 3 mile uphill drive along a very well maintained dirt road that does get narrow as it winds it way up to the meadow. There are only a couple of sites at Lockett so get there early (first come first serve basis). $14 per site - up to 8 people max in each. The open season is May-October 12. It is free outside of the open season dates, but this area does close down once the road is deemed too dangerous in the winter.
The meadow is tucked away affording views of the surrounding San Francisco Peaks Wilderness. Solitude and beauty are your compadres here. Fall is probably the primo time to visit.
