We are a unique, community driven campground open from April - October. My home is full of charm and history in the heart of Aztec, NM. I have a spot for an RV, an outdoor bedroom on the patio or the occasional bedroom inside available. There can be water and electricity for a higher rate. I have a hammock, fire pit, inflatable hot tub that stays at 104, and an outdoor movie screen. Our setting is cooler and greener than the surrounding area. Its a great place to relax in the shade of a cottonwood or apricot tree, while listening to the sound of a little waterfall nearby! If you still haven’t “gotten over the color green” (there’s a book by that title!), this is the place for you. Or, even if you love red rocks , a little green will refresh you while in camp.
Cottonwoods and historic fruit trees shade parts of each site, while dragonflies and birds often dart about among the rabbitbrush and sagebrush.
Each site can accommodate one vehicle, van, small RV, or truck-bed camper up to and including 18 feet in length.
Just north of Cortez, we are ideally located in the heart of the northern Four Corners region—only 15 minutes to Mesa Verde National Park, 20 minutes to Canyons of the Ancients, 10 minutes to Phil’s World, and 30 minutes to the mountains for hiking, biking, or fishing. Cortez and Dolores markets and restaurants are just 10 minutes away. Durango is an hour away, Telluride is 1½ hours, and Moab is 2 hours.
Being close to a county road (the closest edge of Apricot Starlight is 50 feet and is partially screened by sagebrush but the closest edge of Cottonwood Dream is 100 ft with more sagebrush screening, reflected in the price) allows quick and easy access to your site. There can be an occasional vehicle passing by during evening hours (usually none after 10 PM).
We are naturalists, so if you have questions about birds, dragonflies, butterflies, or fireflies (yes, fireflies!), such as the best places to see them besides your campsite, just ask us!
We also worked in the field of archaeology and can help you choose sites to visit—like Mesa Verde National Park or Canyons of the Ancients.
We encourage you to connect with the natural world as well as the ancient cultures of this region. Four Corners' Dragonfly Camp exists on the ancestral lands of the Puebloan and Ute peoples.
This is a dry site—please bring your own water and toilet. Showers are available at the Cortez Recreation Center, just 10 minutes away.

We enjoyed our time camping in our RV at Lisa’s spot. Parking our 5th wheel was easy, and the three sided fencing was nice for our dogs to give them space to run around. The fire ring provided some fire lit evenings under the stars in the crisp mountain air among the trees. Lisa was a great communicator and we’ll gladly return when in the area. It is a nice location for visiting Mancos, Dolores and Cortez.
