You have your choice of camping with your van or small RV, small trailer or tent, in a level, forested area (not lakeside) with picnic table and fire pit, or tenting lakeside with water views, picnic table and fire pit, or both! You have access to both, one reservation comes with both spots, so you can enjoy the lakeside regardless of where you sleep. Vehicles cannot reach the tent site, it is a steep trail about a 150 feet. Although our campsite is near the lake, you cannot drive to the water from the campsite. It is a steep, short hike down to the water. There is one canoe at the campsite you are free to use or bring your own canoes, kayaks and/ or paddle boards to enjoy the superb water. There are no motor boats on the lake, so the paddling and swimming is great. There are three private homes on the lake, adjacent to where your site it located so we ask that no loud partying, play music only quietly and no generators. There are no campers on either side of your campsite, we only offer one, campsite. There is a nice, clean outhouse and no other amenities (Tier D in HipCamp-speak). No on-site water but it can be obtained at our house, just ask. We have a dog on the property, who is friendly and off leash. If having a dog come visit would be a problem for you, please don't make a reservation. If you plan on bringing a dog please let us know. No more than two dogs allowed.

This 150-acre property has been in our family for 32 years and now houses three generations. Built in 1900 it was a traditional dairy farm until the 50's and 60's when potatoes were planted on the fields for the Boston and New York markets. By the 70's and 80's it became a gentleman's farm for a retired couple from New York City and the dairy farmers nearby hayed the fields. When we purchased the property in 1993 we continued offering the hay, built greenhouses, planted vegetable and flower gardens, ran a traditional Bed and Breakfast, now airbnb. We leased some of the fields to a local organic seed company for 13 years until they purchased their own property. The farm remains certified organic and is still being hayed by a local dairy farm, the gardens are community managed using regenerative and sustainable practices when ever possible. In the commercial garden, seed crops are being planted once again. Much of the cultivated agricultural land is protected under the Vermont Land Trust, to ensure that it remains used for agricultural purposes. We love to share our farm and forest with others. In addition to our very intentional farming operations, you can find wild edibles tucked away on forest trails. Wildlife and wildflowers abound. Views and sunsets. Check out the 968 acre wildlife management area that abuts the property. Plenty of trails through the woods leading to Wolcott Pond and hidden beaver huts and dams. Children 12 and under no charge. Campers can choose from a wide open site with a view of the mountains, or a secluded site in the woods, with the babbling year-round brook in the background. The fields are meadowland, where we pasture our animals, cut hay, and enjoy the company of a diverse cohort of grasses, flowers, insects, and birds. On clear nights, the stars are lovely, and you'll be treated to the breathtaking sweep of the Milky Way. During the day, you can linger in the gardens, visit the sheep and chickens, wade in the pond, hike in the woods, walk the lovely dirt roads, or head out on your bike. If you're ready to range further, we're a short drive to hiking, paddling, fishing, swimming, epic mountain biking, quaint eateries, microbreweries, and more. St Johnsbury and Montpelier are the closest cities (25 and 35 minutes). Burlington is 1.25 hours, and Montreal is 2.5 hours. We moved to this land in 2007 with our two small children, and began developing a homestead. Over time, we built 2 greenhouses, a large equipment shed, planted and fenced an orchard and berry garden, a large vegetable patch, made several flower gardens, set up systems for pasturing sheep and chickens, planted native shrubs and trees, and completely renovated the farmhouse. We practice organic regenerative agriculture and landscaping, with a deep commitment to strengthening and diversifying ecological systems. We offer free farm tours, and those who want to help and learn are welcome. We love the beauty of this land, and look forward to sharing it with you.

Perfect location if you plan on visiting surrounding cities, like Stowe. Camp site was well taken care of. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the area and gave several recommendations for activities and dining ahead of the visit for planning. All around really nice dude! Multiple showers/flushable toilets available. Dog friendly. Many guests but was very quiet, which was great. Bathroom could be a bit cleaner/welcoming...but it is camping and I'm always grateful just to have access to utilities. Over all, nice stay.

This spot was 10/10! As a solo female traveling with just her dog I felt completely safe here. Everyone else staying was very kind and Will was fantastic! The bathrooms were clean and it was in the perfect location to be able to drive through smugglers notch multiple times to get to Stowe! I would definitely stay here again!

Will was super welcoming, accommodating, and responsive. He gave us some great local recommendations for around the area. His campground had beautiful views and was the perfect location to explore Smuggler’s Notch. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. The campground was well taken care of. Would stay here again!

Lynn’s Hipcamp was a quiet place to retreat to from the busy fall season in Stowe where our family had their gathering. There is a walking trail nearby. The views of the mountains with the fall colors is spectacular.

Absolutely loved our stay at Smugglers Notch RV Village! The peaceful, scenic setting made for a truly relaxing getaway, and the spacious sites gave us plenty of room to unwind. It’s the perfect place to slow down, enjoy nature, and recharge. Plus there's tons of hiking and adventure to be had nearby, definitely recommend! Can’t wait to come back

Very friendly and helpful host. We arrived late in middle or rain storm. As campground was sparsely populated, he gave us choice of 5 or 6 sites we could choose from, all near the bathrooms which is helpful for my wife who is very low vision. Also recommended local restaurants since we didn't want to cook in rain or in van. Said we could be flexible on checkout time since rain is continuing through weekend and very few people arriving next day. We ended up getting up and out and had fun exploring the town and rail trail.

Angie is very sweet and welcoming. Her land is absolutely beautiful. Me and my partner stayed a night in our minivan at the end of her driveway overlooking breathtaking foggy mountains. After checking in, we were left to ourselves and it truly felt like we were on our own. Despite being quite close to her house. We felt very safe. We had to bring our dog last minute and she was super understanding. There are no other dogs and so much space to run and explore. We will absolutely return if we can. Also DELICIOUS potable water available. Thanks Angie!
