Sandbar Farm was purchased as our home and as a place for both sharing our love and knowledge of horses with others and providing a place for animals to re-group and sometimes recover in order to find their perfect human. We have accomplished this goal for many and some, like Nameless the Mustang, have found a permanent safe place here. Over the years, we have found that our human friends and relatives also find the farm to be fun, and a popular place to relax and re-group from everyday life. We hope that you will feel the same way after a visit. Learn more about this land: Beautiful camping spots among the pine trees. Wake up to deer and horses crossing the fields behind you, birds chirping and the fresh air smell of the great outdoors. We have our own fields and wood for hiking, quiet dirt roads for walking or biking with horses often available for trail rides at an extra fee. We are also: 5 minutes from Stony Brook Park with its natural stone spring fed swimming pool and miles of hiking trails along the streams; 35 minutes from Letchworth Park, the Grand Canyon of the East with its amazing waterfalls. Whether it's a big event or the Arkport Summerfest, there's always something fun to do, besides just relaxing. We also offer limited stabling for outside horses so you can enjoy the trails at more than 5 different parks. Phillips Creek/Turnpike Forest/Palmers Pond, Coyle Hill, Sugar Hill, Wag trail, Mendon Ponds and several others. Have a different hobby? Just ask and we'll let you know what's available.

Welcome, Mission Conesus, originally built by Franciscan Catholics. These lands were likely chosen for many reasons. Suffice it to say there is something special here. Come discover for yourself. Lose yourself here, or maybe find yourself, among the Hemlocks. First, a bit about the terrain. There is much in the way of forest, very mature, and a broad array of plant species. Elevation differences are vast, land to the west is uphill for quite a ways, and downhill to the east, to Hemlock lake below, so the world here can feel a bit tilted. We adjoin 150 acres of nature conservancy lands that nobody seems to know about. These lands are for respectful public daytime use. We also adjoin 6600 acres of NY state forest which is public property. Exploring all that is here would take a very long time! Want to get away? Welcome to our little slice of heaven. See the provided map for site locations. Site 1 is open field and is near the pavilion, sites 2 and 3 are along the woods, and site 4 is the most private and tucked into the woods. We looking forward to hosting you, at the mission.

Bought this place 13 yrs ago it was nothing but bare land. I've cleared out an area to camp, play, and enjoy the world. Find this as a good chance to share the outdoors with new ppl. Every year we host a Tree fundraiser called "May We Begin" where we replant as many trees with tree shields as we can raise funds for. Learn more about this land: The feeling of peace is about 1 mile off the road. Pulling into Apple Cove you'll see we've cleared areas for tents and small van style RVs. There is an individual fire pit for each camper, a small rock bottom creek runs through the 15 acres for a nice, relaxing view of the woods. The kids and I set up a swing set, and a spot by the creek to play and splash. Now, New York is a 420 friendly state. Enjoy yourself but please be respectful of others Minutes away from: Letchworth State Park, Silver Lake, Genesee River, Geneseo, Silver Springs MX track, Mt. The best camping in Stony Brook State Park, NY guide

Overview

About

Set in the rolling hills of western New York, Stony Brook State Park is known for its rugged gorge and three waterfalls, each with a plunge pool. Hikers can choose from three short but fairly challenging hiking trails for views of the gorge and falls, as well as rock formations and steep cliffs. The North Entrance for day use visitors has a picnic area, grills, playground, natural stream-fed pool, and entrance to the hiking trails. For overnighters, the wooded Stony Brook State Park Campground has 88 campsites and eight rustic cabins and is typically open from April or May through early October

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Bookings can easily be secured online or by phone.
  2. As this is a popular campground, reservations are recommended: bookings may be made up to nine months in advance.
  3. Same-day reservations are allowed until 3pm on the day of arrival.

When to go

Most visitors come to Stony Brook State Park to enjoy the natural pools, making summer the busiest season—swimming is typically permitted from mid-June through the first week in September when guards are on duty. If visiting on a summer weekend, try to arrive early, as the park can get uncomfortably crowded. During the winter season, most areas of the park are closed to the public including the South Entrance and all hiking trails.

Know before you go

  • Due to damage caused by visitors, walking, swimming, and wading in the creek has been banned.
  • A maximum of two pets are allowed in campsites and day use areas, but not in the swimming area, and must be on a leash and have proof of rabies inoculation.
  • There are a number of grocery stores in Dansville, a few minutes away.
