Although the cabin is insulated, and there is a small realistic looking electric heater...in the cooler months it only takes off the chill. You'll want to pack warmer clothing for the cooler nights. You'll find a lovely outdoor stone firepit with a grill to enjoy cozy campfires or to cook on. The site is provided with a picnic table/umbrella, rustic outdoor furniture, and a clean, simple outhouse, also a small outdoor kitchen and hand washing area. Propane stove and propane is provided. Inside the cabin there is a jug of water for your morning coffee. Coffee maker, mugs, plates, utensils are provided There are 4 single foam mattresses that make up a single bed, or three 4 double foldout foam mattresses to accommodate two. We are 5 minutes to the quaint town of Norwood, and minutes to Hastings Trent River's fishing adventures! We are close to all the needed amenities. Although there is some wood to use, we encourage our hipcamper to pick up 2 bags of dry wood as may be damp. There is some kindling in a box on porch), paper for a campfire is (behind the door) We would love for you to come and stay at our Casa de Campo cabin!!

Fifthwind farm is located high on a hilltop in Northumberland county. Our farm is only 10 minutes north of Cobourg yet feels tranquil and remote. The view is spectacular…on a clear day New York State is visible. Our Bunkie is fully insulated and cozy on cold winter nights. The Northumberland Forest is quite close and it offers many cross-country ski trails. Because of the cold weather, our outdoor shower it’s not operable during the winter months. The Bunkie does not have running water, but water is provided, and the sink can still be used. There is a large bonfire area on our farm, (a little bit away from the Bunkie) also a play area for kids including zip line, boat structure, sand box, swing, above ground pool and trampoline; gorgeous circular organic garden with seating area and a small orchard. The garden and orchard provides many of the flowers, herbs and berries used to create skincare products. www.purejoybotanicals.ca. At Fifthwind we are also dedicated to developing and showcasing natural building techniques including straw bale and compressed earth blocks. www.fifthwind.ca Cobourg is rich with festivals on summer weekends and is known for it’s large beach and waterfront trails. 7 acres of field, forest, pond, waterfall, rapids, swimming hole! There are no bad views! Sit by the pond, sit by the creek, sit in the waterfall, sit out at Blueberry Hill for a pleasant breeze or up on SunStar Ridge for some nightly star gazing or lay back in a hammock or on zero gravity chairs 1 Bunkie on a hill overlooking the pond and 2 private tent sites, one at Boot Hill and one in the Field of Dreams. Each site has a fire pit and a compostable toilet and there is a compostable toilet in an outhouse on the property for the bunkie. Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing. This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape. Some finds are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. If you are green minded you are welcome here!

Our land is very private and beautifully sheltered by trees all around the campsite. There is an open field as well that also has trees on the outskirts. A video is available upon request! Fenella is a small village about 7 min away that has a large convenience/ grocery/Beer store as well as gas stations and Canabis beyond belief ! Go carts, food trucks and the best Butter Tart Factory as well! Warkworth is a town east of us about 20 min and Cobourg is 20 min South of us. Many shopping experiences available. Primrose Donkey Sanctuary is down the road a few minutes which we highly suggest visiting. Look their hours up before planning a visit! We have easy access up our road about 1 km to the Northumberland Trails where you can ride your horses, cycle, ride your ATVs,walk or jog. We have goats and can provide goat walks on our own trails. Goat walks are about 30 minutes generally and $15 per walk. Our own Free Range eggs are available for $7/doz as well as firewood for $10 per bundle Dogs are welcome as long as they are constantly on a leash, as we have chickens that free range! We ask that you bring your own water and hydro please. We hosted 35-40 endurance horses and their riders in August of 2022! We welcome tents and all trailers!

A private piece of Prince Edward County! An adorable little retro styled bunkie on a private woodsy property that’s just a fifteen minute walk (or three minute drive) from a picturesque rock beach on Lake Ontario. Tucked in privately from the road out of site by a bunch of junipers and other trees located on the property. The bunkie offers a nice queen sized bed, a little area to the side with chairs and a table to relax if you need to get out of the sun/rain, and a very chill 70’s beach vibe. If the wind is just right, you will be able to hear the waves crash from the beach! The property has a perfect little hangout area where there is a nice big fire pit, patio table/chairs, as well as a portable bbq (you will just need to bring your own little Coleman propane cylinder with you.) If it’s a nice clear night, stare up to the sky and you may see the Milky Way above! There are a couple short loop trails that you can walk your dog on that loop from the bunkie/hangout area that will loop you back to either spot on the property. I just ask you to be respectful of cleaning up after your pets if you bring any. There are some pylons located in areas on the trails to indicate not to go past those any further due to it being not maintained past that those points. The land is located on probably one of the quietest roads in the County. You may see more off road vehicles if your on your way to the beach then you would cars. There is also a little outhouse located at the front of the property off to the side of the driveway. Twenty minutes from the town of Picton where you can find any amenity you require! A gorgeous town with tons of great restaurants, wineries, breweries, farm stands, artisans and shopping. Check out the rest of Prince Edward County by just adding a few more minutes to your trip in any direction to explore our other great towns around the community. So much to see and do here, lots of sightseeing, nature trails, conservation areas and don’t forget the world famous Sandbanks provincial park! (The largest sandbar beach in Canada). Perfect getaway for a couples glamping experience, solo glamping, peace, quiet, and relaxation. Or to just let loose and have a great time! There are no houses to either side of the property, so there’s no worry to be quiet 😉.

We had the best time enjoying the outdoors, the river, wildlife, and beautiful views. We spent lots of time relaxing outside, playing games, reading, and listening to music. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature without feeling like you need to go anywhere or do anything. The location is great too! We took a trip to a nearby conservation area for a hike one day and enjoyed a round of golf at a nearby 12-hole course. There’s plenty to explore in the area, but honestly, just spending time at the property is one of the best parts. We really enjoyed our weekend and would happily come back for a third visit!

Our camping experience on Michael’s farm could not have been better. Michael is a very pleasant host and has taken much effort to offer a most awesome getaway. The farm is beautiful and quiet. Access is great for trailer or tent. We will definitely return.

I’ve left reviews on here before, but after our 4th visit, it’s time to leave a quick one again. Let’s just say I love this place. Sweet cabin on a massive property with all the sweet spots you need for a few days of decompression. I always bring my sausage dog Frankie and he never wants to leave what seems to be limitless walks in the woods. Every good thing people on these reviews say is spot on and then some. Last thing to Katrina & Graham - I’ll just say this…”Thank you for being the best hosts”.

Fall is a great time to visit the county and stay to enjoy the outdoors. The weather is perfect, the colours are brilliant, and there are no bugs!!

Lovely hosts and lovely forested area with wildflower fields to explore. The site is well maintained and the cooking rack for the fire was very helpful. The hosts also brought down water for the site and some essentials like a BBQ lighter and bug spray. 100/10 😁

We had such an amazing time at Grayotter cabin! A perfect week away. Everything was beautiful from the cabin itself to the surrounding nature. So many areas to explore and enjoy. We had a fantastic time and would love to go back again. We saw so many different birds, mushrooms on the trails, some fish and had an otter sighting! This place is a must for anyone wanting a peaceful vacation!

Weekend Trip to Nuevo Malacatos

Tara is a very considerate host and made every effort to make me feel welcome and supported with tea and coffee, fresh veg and access to washroom and shower too. She gave me good tips on a nearby swimming hole, set me up with Internet and introduced me to the chickens and goats. The view over the hill is lovely and watching the chickens roam around the boats and classic car was delightful. I found the loft too hot but, then I learned I could sleep on the sofa bed instead which was easy and comfortable. The sound of the highway is close by and more noticeable at night. I made sure to load up on their fantastic eggs before leaving.

Weekend Trip to Fifthwind

We had a wonderful stay and absolutely loved this farm! The hosts were incredibly warm, welcoming, and generous. They responded to every request, shared fresh vegetables and fruit from their garden with us, and made us feel right at home. There was a clean shower, a toilet, and fresh water available, making our stay very comfortable. They have a beautiful campfire area, and they kindly agreed to spend the evening with us so we could get to know each other better. We really enjoyed our conversation and appreciated the time they shared with us. The property is absolutely breathtaking. The scenery is stunning, the gardens are most beautiful, the buildings are full of character, and you can see the creativity and love that have gone into every detail. We could even see a bit of Lake Ontario from our camper! What impressed us most was the hosts' creativity, craftsmanship, and ingenuity. Everywhere you look, you can see the results of their imagination, hard work, and attention to detail. It's truly inspiring to see people their age creating, building, inventing, and improving things with such energy and enthusiasm. They are a wonderful example for younger generations. Thank you for sharing your beautiful farm and your incredible hospitality with us. We left with wonderful memories and hope to come back again!

Such a lovely little getaway! Everything was exactly as described, super clean and peaceful, with lots of privacy. We especially loved sitting outside at night, enjoying the beautiful view and stargazing. The host was so kind and welcoming, which made the stay even nicer. We left with such good memories and would love to come back one day!
