Amy and Eric Exceeded Expectations
Amy and Eric (and all the other guests during our stay at Backwoods Manor) were the embodiment of “come as strangers, leave as friends,” during our stay with them during the Total Solar Eclipse in April 2024.
Backwoods’ Manor is on a well maintained stretch of land, equipped with an extensive outdoor kitchen, covered seating pavilion, dish washing station, lovely camp bathrooms, a central bonfire circle, a honeymoon cabin, an earthen sauna, two ponds, an orchard, a private backwoods trail, so much scenery, and plenty of space for several groups to sprawl out camp and enjoy their time there. Both the facilities and the property were clean and posh, yet unpretentious. The setup of the space is thoughtfully designed so that it’s easy to join group gatherings to socialize with the hosts and other guests but it’s not necessary or required if one wants to keep to themselves. (Though it’s worth joining at least once to listen to some of the hosts’ enthralling stories.)
The hosts are active and engaging: they want to be there at their little slice of heaven just as much as you do! They enforce enough rules to keep everyone safe and happy while also being open-minded and supportive of safe/sane merriment from their guests. They had tons of great suggestions on stuff to do in the area.
While Amy and Eric will say that Backwoods Manor is still a work in progress, I think it’s just perfect as it is. I am so looking forward to booking another stay at this most special place.
