The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. This riverfront, fully equipped, beautifully crafted treehouse is not your average child's treehouse, but kids are certainly welcome. Walk up the easy 14 steps into this A Frame tiny house and you'll be surprised at the roominess. Inside you'll discover a full kitchen, full bathroom with shower, living area with sofa bed sectional, dining area, and loft with a queen bed. Step out on the deck, just a stone's throw from the river and listen to the sounds below of the gurgling moving water over the rocks. Move down below the treehouse to find another huge deck with a hot tub, relaxing seating, and a table for dining outside. But that's not all; step off that deck to a fire pit and steps leading to the river. The river is great for swimming, fishing, and boating and we even supply a canoe and kayaks. The two giant Tulip Poplar trees that supports the treehouse continue to grow and in the early summer produce the tulip like flowers. If you're up for exercise or adventure, just across the river is the H&BT Bike Trail, which is now 14 miles long. A short drive takes you to a trailhead or if you're just looking for a hike on the trail, canoe across and climb up the short hill to the trail. Also across the river is a 2600 acre Pennsylvania State Game Land and 2000 foot high Kimber Mountain; if you're looking for a challenging and primitive hike, climb the mountain or work your way up Kimber Run, a small brook with many small waterfalls. Adventure abounds near Treehouse Waters. There are also many other things to do in Bedford and Huntington Counties. Wild Yough is located in Southern Garrett County, Maryland very close to Herrington Manor State Park, Swallows Falls State Park, and the quaint mountain village of Oakland. The property adjoins thousands of acres of Garrett State Forest and hundreds of acres of state land along the Youghiogheny River. The world class Wisp resort and Deep Creek Lake are only minutes away. “Yough” is short for Youghiogheny River a state designated wild and scenic river which runs through the heart of the property. Wild Yough Glamping huts are part of more than 350 acres of private land, most of which is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails. Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning “a stream flowing in a contrary direction”, or in the case of the Yough, North toward Ohio Pyle and Pittsburgh. This section of the river is designated as a protected scenic corridor and you will feel the quiet isolation when sitting on the Crooked Butt Bench overlooking the big horseshoe bend in the river at the far back corner of our property. And if the river is low during your visit, feel free to wade across to the other side – Wild Yough owns the entire peninsula of land on the other side of the river and this is also bordered by State land.The river banks are steep on the property, but the fishing for small mouth bass is exceptional. There is a small turn around on the path just beyond Crooked Butt Bench where you can take out your canoe, kayak, or inner tubes after floating the 2+ miles from the Oakland bridge. Just be prepared to walk your water craft back up to the house or Glamping site as there is no motorized access to the river.If you like to lay on the rocks in the sun or take the kids for some wading in the river, the best place is the farthest to walk to. Take the trail to “High Bluff”, then cross the Snyder property line (Permission for trail access only – do not leave trail!), then descend down and cross the bridge across Herrington Manor Creek (a stocked trout stream!). Learn more about this land: This wooded area is 5 miles away from the Ohiopyle State Park whitewater launch area and GAP bike trail. We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports. The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site. We are "nice pet" friendly. Dogs should not be left in the cabin alone. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to mid September and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. No smoking is permitted in the cabin. Our farm is conveniently located near state parks, hiking trails, and streams for outdoor activities. Standing Stone Trail is a mile from the farm and it’s a short drive to The East Broad Top Railroad, Lake Raystown and the Thousand Steps. Since we operate an organic vegetable farm, seasonal produce is always available. We are also home to Barn Door Artisans, a collaborative family enterprise offering finished wood products, ceramics and fine art. Visit the Art Studio, just a short walk down the path, to browse the artwork created from materials from the surrounding landscape.

Our Farm sits on over 200 acres of family owned farmland that has been in the family for over 100 years. It is the mission of Our Farm to provide experiences, products, and a destination for folks to learn more about agriculture in the Valley and to instill a connection to the land. At this time, Our Farm is focusing on unique lodging or "glamping*" options to bring people to the farm. We are planning our Christmas tree farm now and do have grass-fed beef available upon request. This spring we are adding a garden with fresh veggies, fruit, and herbs for our visitors to partake of.

Weekend Trip to Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)

We stayed just overnight (a middle point between home and our final destination) but my husband and I both agreed that we would have loved to’ve stayed longer in this peaceful spot! We were mildly worried that it might be hot inside when we arrived (early evening) but it was perfect — and, as other reviewers have said, it made for really comfortable sleeping with the powerful fan and the breeze. We wish we’d had time to see the river. Maybe someday!

2 nights at Riverdale Farm- River Glamping

We road-tripped from Maine to Tennessee and decided to stop here in West Virginia to break up the trip home and so glad we did! The property was beautiful, right on the water, and easy to find. We only stayed two nights and wish we stayed for a week to really enjoy everything the site has to offer. We found the complimentary snacks and drinks so thoughtful, and we played a ton of scrabble. They have fishing poles, kayaks, and floats you’re free to use. And they even had a hot tub, which we weren’t aware of when we booked so it was a pleasant surprise. Truly can’t wait to come back :)

Great place for unwinding and relaxing of the hassle, the owner sky was very helpful and provided all the assistance needed! Beautiful hunting cabin, you’ll feel the mode! Weekend Trip to The Oasis at Bear Run Farms

My review is long, but very honest, please read:) My second stay at Bear Run Farm, and I can honestly say this wonderful place has become my favorite escape from the busy, hectic pace of life. Amber, the host, was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and hospitable. The cabin was cozy, spotless, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. And the blue lake… absolutely magical! 💙 The water is so clean, refreshing, and peaceful. I call it the Caribbean of West Virginia! 🌴🏞️ What makes Bear Run Farm truly special is the untouched, natural beauty surrounding it. Everywhere you look, there is lush greenery, beautiful trees, peaceful woods, and the feeling of being completely immersed in nature. It feels like a hidden paradise, far away from the noise and stress of everyday life. The peaceful landscape and fresh air make it the perfect place to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply enjoy the beauty of nature. I’m already looking forward to coming back again! ❤️

We really enjoyed staying at the treehouse. Treehouse is a great facility on a lovely spot right next to the river. All the amenities were great, from the fully equipped kitchen, the comfy bed, the porches and the hot tub. It was the perfect get away for our anniversary and our first experience with “glamping”. This place is exactly as described! We were prepared to camp so basic amenities, like the outhouse and solar shower, that would deter others were just fine for us. It felt very remote but there were resources within a short drive. The host was very communicative and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Our pup was happy to see there were even dog toys for her. We enjoyed stargazing by the pond, hearing the owls, coyotes, and whip-poor-wills at night, and catching glimpses of lizards and box turtles!

1 night at WonderWoods at Rocky Gap

This was our second visit - the first time we camped in tents. This time we stayed in the Acorn Palace, and it was everything I dreamed it would be. Such a perfect spot to camp in luxury! Kristen provides so many little touches to make the Palace the perfect cabin. She was welcoming and accommodating, and super easy to communicate with. We will definitely visit again!

Very quiet, very private and peaceful setting. Three nights is just not enough time. Take all of your fishing gear including bait with you- If you don’t have a 4WD, it’s not a place for you, lol. The roads to get to it are a bit rough but well maintained but rough- hard to explain. I loved it. Bruce- great host! Clean place. Small college fridge- bring an extra cooler. Hot tub nice but needs clean otherwise awesome extra. Worth it! Going back!

Staying at Pablo and Lorena's Invisible Love House was the highlight of my summer! My partner and I spent two nights here and left feeling rejuvenated and incredibly relaxed. Pablo was incredibly kind and dropped us off at a spot with kayaks to spend a few hours on the river. We were delayed in getting back (no service on the river meant that we couldn't message him and let him know) and he was there ready for us when we arrived. I appreciate the time he took out of his day to make sure we had the best stay possible. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything we could need! There was a huge thunderstorm one of the nights we were there and watching it from the inside of the cabin was so magical. I cannot recommend this place enough:)

We enjoyed our glamping experience! It was nice to have the cabin and running water / toilets near by… we enjoyed hiking all the trails, met a nice couple … when we comeback we won’t stay in the Stanley cabin because cars drove right by our window a few times each night and people were partying at the main building at 2am one night so our sleep was not good

Weekend Trip to A 1000 Miles from Nowhere Cabin

I personally loved 1000 miles cabin. It's rustic and perfect for a weekend to unplug. Pros: The goats, cows, owls, squirrels and deer were plentiful. I was able to take my reactive dog to a place where she could be herself. Host was very responsive and attentive. Pond is within walking distance and it's such an amazing little rustic hunting cabin. Honestly everything was amazing for what I wanted Cons: spiders lol this was on me for getting rustic with arachnophobia 🤣 My only fair warning is with the rainstorm I used my 4wd to make sure I got through one set of ruts in the road, don't think I really needed it but it did downpour all morning and the ruts were a little slick. Overall, the host made this place amazing for those who want minor creature comforts and for those who want to unplug for the weekend. Donnie's (Tracy's) is right down the road and you must try their burgers and pizza, SO GOOD. There's also a dollar general 5 minutes from the cabin if you forget anything.

7 nights at Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)

We had a wonderful stay at the invisible house on Pablo and Lorena's property! It is secluded and serene but Pablo and Lorena always responded super quickly and were SO friendly and helpful whenever I had a question. You're set up on a hill a little ways back from their house, so you have plenty of privacy. We wound up spending a lot of time at the cabin just hanging out, having fires, lounging in the chairs on the back porch. The invisible house gets hot during the day in late July, but the large fan actually keeps it super cool at night and the beds are comfortable. I got some of the best sleep of my life here. The private river access is a few minute drive or 15-20 minute walk away and wow, it is beautiful there. Perfectly clear water, great for swimming and would be nice for kids as it doesn't get too deep until you're out quite a ways. Went fishing at the public river access up the way and caught several sunnies and smallmouth. Nearby Prospect Peak and the overlook in Cacapon state park are breathtaking. Tons of fun stuff to do in Berkeley Springs, Fairfax coffee house and the massive cat cafe absolutely rock. I can't say enough good things about this place and our hosts. If you're looking at this place thinking about booking, do it! You won't regret it.
