The world class Wisp resort and Deep Creek Lake are only minutes away. “Yough” is short for Youghiogheny River a state designated wild and scenic river which runs through the heart of the property. Wild Yough Glamping huts are part of more than 350 acres of private land, most of which is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails. Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning “a stream flowing in a contrary direction”, or in the case of the Yough, North toward Ohio Pyle and Pittsburgh. This section of the river is designated as a protected scenic corridor and you will feel the quiet isolation when sitting on the Crooked Butt Bench overlooking the big horseshoe bend in the river at the far back corner of our property. And if the river is low during your visit, feel free to wade across to the other side – Wild Yough owns the entire peninsula of land on the other side of the river and this is also bordered by State land.The river banks are steep on the property, but the fishing for small mouth bass is exceptional. There is a small turn around on the path just beyond Crooked Butt Bench where you can take out your canoe, kayak, or inner tubes after floating the 2+ miles from the Oakland bridge. Just be prepared to walk your water craft back up to the house or Glamping site as there is no motorized access to the river.If you like to lay on the rocks in the sun or take the kids for some wading in the river, the best place is the farthest to walk to. Take the trail to “High Bluff”, then cross the Snyder property line (Permission for trail access only – do not leave trail!), then descend down and cross the bridge across Herrington Manor Creek (a stocked trout stream!). Learn more about this land: This wooded area is 5 miles away from the Ohiopyle State Park whitewater launch area and GAP bike trail. We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports. The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site. We are "nice pet" friendly. Dogs should not be left in the cabin alone. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to mid September and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. No smoking is permitted in the cabin. Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. Staying at Pablo and Lorena's Invisible Love House was the highlight of my summer! My partner and I spent two nights here and left feeling rejuvenated and incredibly relaxed. Pablo was incredibly kind and dropped us off at a spot with kayaks to spend a few hours on the river. We were delayed in getting back (no service on the river meant that we couldn't message him and let him know) and he was there ready for us when we arrived. I appreciate the time he took out of his day to make sure we had the best stay possible. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything we could need! There was a huge thunderstorm one of the nights we were there and watching it from the inside of the cabin was so magical. I cannot recommend this place enough:)

We had a wonderful stay at the invisible house on Pablo and Lorena's property! It is secluded and serene but Pablo and Lorena always responded super quickly and were SO friendly and helpful whenever I had a question. You're set up on a hill a little ways back from their house, so you have plenty of privacy. We wound up spending a lot of time at the cabin just hanging out, having fires, lounging in the chairs on the back porch. The invisible house gets hot during the day in late July, but the large fan actually keeps it super cool at night and the beds are comfortable. I got some of the best sleep of my life here. The private river access is a few minute drive or 15-20 minute walk away and wow, it is beautiful there. Perfectly clear water, great for swimming and would be nice for kids as it doesn't get too deep until you're out quite a ways. Went fishing at the public river access up the way and caught several sunnies and smallmouth. Nearby Prospect Peak and the overlook in Cacapon state park are breathtaking. Tons of fun stuff to do in Berkeley Springs, Fairfax coffee house and the massive cat cafe absolutely rock. I can't say enough good things about this place and our hosts. If you're looking at this place thinking about booking, do it! You won't regret it.

Would recommend in general, even though our stay was accidental as we thought we reserved the hosts’ OTHER rental! Be prepared that you are actually staying in a treehouse originally built for kids and now used as a rental. We slept very soundly to the music of raw nature!

The place was beautiful! The cabin had everything we needed… games, cooking and cleaning supplies, wifi, tv with plenty of watching options, there was even a telescope for star gazing! Loved the peace and quiet. I loved that although there were other cabins, they each had a more than adequate amount of personal space so that it still felt like a romantic secluded getaway for you and your spouse/partner. This is a lovely setup and I would highly recommend. I definitely look forward to coming back! Thank you Rae!

We had a lovely stay! Our cabin area was tidy and very peaceful with the lull of the river in the background. We enjoyed walking to the bridge down the road and exploring the local trails and riverfront. Ample camping amenities: coffee/tea/drinks/wifi available near the office area, plenty of wood/fire starter for those who needed some, and the port a potty was clean. Pro tip: bring your own potable water or a filter. There is plenty of fresh water available, but it's not potable. Vincent was an incredibly accommodating and personable host and you can tell how hard he and his crew work to keep the site in tip-top shape!

They had milk and cheese for sale, unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to rush out the last morni g and did not get to purchase any! The water was blue and refreshing! If you are debating booking this site, do it. We just spent two days at the waterfront cabin and this has been the most memorable trip. My son and I hail from Chicago and decided to make a detour to this spot on the way to see family in Baltimore. We had such an incredible time on the water and experiencing the beauty of this family’s farm. They were so helpful and accommodating, even lending us fans because we forgot ours at home. I got to spend a lot of time talking to Amber’s husband about their farm and their garden, and they even sent us home with some fresh veggies. Don’t skip out on the farm stand - we bought a lot of creams that Amber made as well as fresh milk and eggs. Waking up to cows at our window was a bonus. Thank you again for a trip my son will never forget!!

This was our second time at Brooklyn Heights in just 2 weeks because we loved it SO much! It was me, my fiance, and 3 kids, plus 2 big dogs! We rented one of the cabins this time & it was amazing. Having a fridge, electric and a/c really makes a mid-July stay so much more relaxing! We mainly just slept in the cabin & not much else because we were either at the river swimming/paddle boarding or relaxing by the fire pit, which is perfectly shaded, but it was surprisingly spacious & having a cool space & comfy bed at night was so great!! Vince is so friendly and kind. The amenities are wonderful! The cheap firewood, the coffee pavilion, a place to wash dishes, and most importantly VERY CLEAN portapotties!! No complaints! We cannot wait to come back again.

1 night at Freedom Run Ranch Equestrian Camp

As soon as we pulled in to freedom run Ranch we knew we would enjoy ourselves. The horses had a great place to stay with big grassy pens and stalls for nighttime in a big old Beautiful barn. The owners were very gracious and helped us with everything. The Cabin is super cute! There are nice places to sit outside in the shade. I would definitely recommend a stay here. Though we only stayed one night, on our trip through the area, we would definitely stay again.

Very close to public access streams, great downtown, and the Cacapon state park! Pablo and Lorena are very sweet, friendly, thoughtful and accommodating. 10/10 a must stay with kids!!

The Waterfront Cabin was the perfect place to camp! Gorgeous view and easy access to a clear blue lake. The cabin was stocked with clean linens, towels, lots of pillows, and other thoughtful items like solar lights, tiki torches, a pop tent that we placed over the picnic table, cornhole boards, cooking equipment, a propane grill, fire pit, and tubes for use in the lake. We loved walking the grounds to see the beauty hidden within this working farm and loved waking up to the cows munching outside the cabin and letting us pet them! Looking forward to returning again!
