Step off the deck into four seasons of outdoors: hike the roughly 1-mile trail past 4 waterfalls at Swallow Falls State Park (with Muddy Creek Falls), explore Herrington Manor and Deep Creek Lake State Parks, paddle or fish Deep Creek Lake, raft or kayak the ASCI whitewater course, and ski, snowboard or snow tube at Wisp in winter. Wisp Resort is minutes away by car. Evenings end at the fire pit.Bear Escape is a brand new 6-bedroom, 4-bath log cabin for up to 16+ guests, with a private wooded lot minutes from Wisp and Deep Creek Lake. Private hot tub on the 3-tier deck. Roast marshmallows at the fire pit on the grass, sit by the outdoor stone fireplace on the covered side porch, and warm up inside by 2 stone fireplaces. For rainy days the lower-level rec room has air hockey, foosball, shuffleboard, ping pong, a basketball arcade, axe throwing and giant Connect Four, plus board games, puzzles and cards. Sleeping: 2 king suites with private baths, 4 queen bedrooms, plus 4 couches. 4 full baths, full kitchen with island, washer/dryer, Wi-Fi. Pet friendly (max 2). Driveway parking for 8 cars. Seasons: winter skiing and tubing at Wisp; summer boating, kayak and pontoon rentals and the state park beach; fall foliage, golf and whitewater rafting. HOST FAVORITES: Hike the roughly 1-mile trail past 4 waterfalls at Swallow Falls State Park, then hit the beach at Deep Creek Lake State Park. For dinner, try Brenda's Pizza, Mountain Brewery, Firewater or Dutch's at Silver Tree. Shop 'n Save is about a mile away and sells firewood; Walmart, about 15 minutes away, delivers via its app. Rainy day? Try the indoor pool at the Garrett County Community Action Recreation Center.
