It is big enough for small kayaks, paddle boards, and rafts too. NEW 2022 Pond Site Addition: We have installed a new fire pit this year!! Upon your arrival, you will find complimentary, match-light firewood set up in the pit for a warm welcome to your site. More firewood is available for purchase throughout your stay. It is illegal in California to travel across county borders with firewood. Firewood often has insect eggs or larvae that can devastate a forest. Please refrain from bringing firewood purchased or harvested from outside Mendocino County. The Best Rest Along the Way: We have created a “self-contained” dry campsite along our main road that is van and truck camping friendly, and can take travel trailers max 16’ length. This site has no amenities and is intended to accommodate people who need a place to catch a rest without sleeping on the roadside, although many do like it as a bear bones campsite. We are conveniently located about 10 min from the 101, for easy in-and-out access. There are lengthy internal roads and trails for unwinding and stretching your legs. Surrounded by cooperate timberland,  it feels like there are no neighbors!  There is not a house in sight but the the ridge views seem to go on forever!  - There is a simple latrine at each site. A full bath house with a flush toilet and hot shower is available next to the main house. A water spigot is attached to the main house. - Spare camping supplies are available by the bath house if you forget something! Ask ahead if you need to borrow a specific item. More about the property: I built my home high upon a southern ridge. Watching the river of coastal fog flow in and out below me is one of the most wonderful views to behold! I have 30 acres of land to explore and camp upon in the surrounding redwood forest. 10 miles east are Montgomery Woods redwood preserve with GIANT trees, and a little farther, perhaps a mile is the famous Orr Hot Springs Resort. If you drive a half hour west from my land you will be in the coastal Mendocino village. We are marijuana friendly!! Thus, we have created more of an adult oriented atmosphere. one last note: We recently made separate listings for different sites. See campsite #1 for reviews.Guests love staying here "What a fantastic experience. I arrived to Cosmo’s super late after a long day going up the coast. It was a last minute book that morning, if I remember right - my campsite had fallen through. His directions were spot on, and very kindly he stayed up to take me to my site and help me get set up, even going so far as to light me a fire. His property was easily navigable in the dark, and my two wheel drive made it fine. We talked for a while - what a cool guy. He was able to give me recommendations from a friend of what to do during the next legs of my trip, which was great and really did make a difference for the rest of my week. I cooked my dinner and sat stunned looking at some of the best stargazing I’ve had in a long time.When I woke up I realized that I had been sleeping next to a mountainside view - this was site 3. Talk about the best surprise I’ve gotten in a while unzipping a tent. The clouds were gathered in the valley and as I ate breakfast I got to watch the sun slowly clear then out. It was unbelievable.Before I left, Cosmo let me use his indoor solar-heated shower and told me all about his projects to build his own home and roads and move towards a more sustainable future. Overall this is really the best of what I imagine hipcamp has to offer - kind property owners & unique individuals who care about their guests while also allowing them to have their own experience. If I’m ever near Mendocino I will gladly make the trip inland to stay at his property again."

This is a shared campground with 3 separate spots that are relatively private. Host will NOT be there when you arrive unless prior arrangement made. This campground is yours to enjoy. The expectation is 'leave it better than before so the next guests may enjoy! This is camping. BRING YOUR OWN GEAR. Put your own linens and bedding on top of what is already on bed. I can provide linens and bedding for an extra $25 for glamping spots. Beds have pillows on them. There is wildlife. This includes bears and mountain lions in the area. You will not see either but good to be aware they exist. This is a safe 'neighborhood'. We do not have problems with thievery. However, always keep your valuables safe IN YOUR CAR. There is no Power. No WiFi. Cell phone coverage not guaranteed. Depends on your carrier. DOWNLOAD DIRECTIONS AND INFO BEFORE ARRIVING TO SITE. There is Poison Oak. Stay in the designated areas. If you are susceptible, bring and wash with Tecnu. Or use dish soap and wash. Poison oak is an oil. Most importantly: Don't Touch. No Fires allowed during Summer months. Be super careful. No candles. Smoke in fire pit area. Grass is a tinderbox. 1 spark can ignite all. There is a hose connected to kitchen. There is a Pet Fee stay. 1 pet per site allowed unless prior arrangement made. You are responsible to clean up after your pet and to make sure pet is safe and respectful to neighbors. This means you DO NOT leave your pet unattended, and is leashed at all times. If your pet is barking continuously, we ask that you leave. It is not respectful for all other neighbors. Please bring your own bed for your dogs and clean up after a shedding dog if you are indoors. We ask that guests clean up your camping spot upon departure to 'make the place better than before' for the next guests. Butterfly Landing is a sweet landing spot! Birds, butterflies and small wildlife love this spot. The habitat includes many native species of plant life. A pretty knoll that is on the top of a 40 acre property. Views of vineyards, redwood trees, valley floor, and expansive sky. Private, Quiet and beautiful. A central sunny meadow ties together 3 distinct private areas with a communal kitchen, bath-house, picnic-table sitting area and parking on the side. There is 1 outhouse that has a mailbox system to ensure privacy. (Please read manual on picnic table for instructions) Kitchen. 2 burner propane stove, and sink with running water (cold). (Good for drinking. Pressure is low) There is basic cooking and dishware. Cleaning supplies. A Trash and Recycle Bin. And a Compost bucket where all food scraps should be disposed of and then covered with wood-chips. Kitchen should stay clean at all times. Please put dishes away in the tote to keep clean and critter free. Bath-house. Shower with hot water. 1 shared Outhouse. Please use the path that goes to the outhouse (unless you are in the Greenroom) and make sure you put the mailbox red flag up so that others know it is occupied. ((Then don't forget to put it back down!!) Common sitting area. There are 2 picnic tables, Lots of umbrellas that can be moved wherever, a fire pit/table and lots of seating. Parking. There are room for 3 vehicles. Parking is to be in designated parking area please. Sunny meadow and forest shade make this a lovely landing spot to relax and enjoy nature, and a great opportunity to turn off those cell phones!! Butterfly Landing is about 1/2 mile from HWY 128 that runs through Anderson Valley. This location is the perfect location for it all. Wine tasting in the Valley, Navarro River swimming during the summer months, and the Mendocino coast is nearby. This is an Honor system camping spot. We ask that you leave your spot 'better than before', as in 'Leaver no Trace'. I rely on everyone to do their part in the communal kitchen to keep clean and free of critters. SUPER IMPORTANT to put all food scraps in the compost bin. NO food anything in the trash. This is how the bears show up. Please do your part. Thank you so much. We celebrated our first anniversary and Valentine’s Day at Golden Bowl 🏕️ ❤️, and it was fantastic. Kristina was very helpful and kind. Despite the rain during the weekend we stayed, it made our experience even more romantic. The location is very private, the tent is cozy and comfortable, and the view from the outdoor kitchen is stunning. Kristina gifted us a bucket of roses for our anniversary, which was a very thoughtful gesture. 💐 🍒 Thank you for your warm hospitality and support.

Everything was great at this tiny cabin! The directions provided before arrival was clear, the road is good and the driveway down to the property is a little uneven but totally fine with a 2wd, no problems at all. Great view from the deck and nice area to walk around. Kitchen well equipped, and plenty of blankets and firewood provided to stay warm and cozy inside the cabin. The outdoor toilet was clean and conveniently located just steps away, way closer than I’d thought. It was lovely meeting Sunny and her sons, as well as her very friendly dogs :) thanks again!

Super comfortable and cute little cabin! Everything we needed was there! A great spot to spend the days either just relaxing and/or to take a day trip to Mendocino (30-45 mins out). If you have a low car or a not so powerful car, the driveway is a little rough so careful!

This place was absolutely fantastic! The drive in is a long "just keep swimming" ordeal, but once you get there, you've arrived at a cute little quiet tranquil rest stop in the forest. The bathhouse has a nice tub, hot shower, and hot sauna, it's clean and comfortable. Some campsites are close to others, and some a bit more remote and pulled back. Clean communal kitchen with stove, cookware, utensils, etc. Owners are very nice, and there's even a cute map of the property. Totally worth it. I'd recommend at least two nights as there's so much to explore and do here!

Weekend Trip to Glynraven Gardens

Lovely spot up a small hill that has beautiful views of the valley. About 15 minutes from Hopland, off of a turn that can be a bit easy to miss in the dark, though we found it with the address given in google maps. We stayed at the Airstream spot. The Airstream itself has a big and pretty comfortable bed, a roof heater for inside, some seating and some shelving. The outside has a very cool mural piece. Only strange thing is there were no curtains. The spot has the Airstream stepping out onto a big deck that faces the valley. You get a gas grill and plenty of seating with a light that lights up the whole deck at night. There is also a fully built out compost toilet a few steps off the deck that was always stocked and comfortable. Wifi is on site, no password, and plenty fast. The property is above the fog line so at night turn off the lights and you get great stars and it's also very quiet albeit you can hear the road, but it's an engine running in the distance, not a noisy freeway. Extras Clark was VERY responsive through the app. There were a couple of things that came up ahead of our stay and he was messaging us making sure we were good, and gave us plenty of make up offers that were well above the issue but of course appreciated. There is a pool and hot tub with beautiful views We were greeted by a flock of peacocks one morning. There are also a couple cats running around. We met one that was a total ham. We went in January, it was a bit chilly, no bugs

We had a wonderful time at Sunnyland and were so happy with the site! We loved being able to cozy up next to a fire inside the cabin, and making our coffee & enjoying our meals in the outdoor kitchen space. The back deck to the cabin offers a breathtakingly beautiful view as well. It was such a peaceful experience and Sunny is an excellent host. I highly recommend if you want a getaway close to the coast. Thanks for the perfect holiday! We had such a relaxing time and will definitely be back.

Campsite was great! Yurt was very secluded and in a beautiful location. Bedding was fresh and clean and very comfy with the cold weather and rain. Kitchen was convenient and had a great fire pit. Kristina was very helpful, even providing us pots and pans that we had forgotten. Highly recommend if you are looking for an adventurous getaway.

The tiny cabin is super cute and the bed is comfy. The view from the porch is amazing! We got lucky and got a clear night for the Geminid meteor shower and saw lots of shooting stars! I’m not always a “people person” but I loved meeting Sunny who is just the nicest! All the people and critters on Sunnyland are great! I will say, if you don’t like hearing kids at play or if you are afraid of super big, sweet dogs this may not be the place for you. Also, I couldn’t get the WiFi to work, but admittedly didn’t try too hard as there were better things to do than look at my phone! Oh, I also got a chance to look at the campsites and they are all very nice too. Next time we visit during nice weather I think we might try out the RidgeTop site!

It's pretty and I have a lot of great childhood memories from the place, but man, methheads be staying (UP) for days here! It's like every tweaker from the Lake County area decided to holiday here the weekend that we camped. Parties on three of the 4 sides of our site had overstayed their long-term reservations and were being kicked out during our stay here. We watched a woman clean out her car 3 times one day...I don't think she found what she was looking for. Meth...shit's crazy!
