We live at the end of a cul-de-sac in an old neighborhood west of the Ashley River in Charleston, South Carolina. Access to downtown Charleston is 20 minutes away and Folly beach is a 30 to 45 minute drive. We have full hook ups in our second driveway available for rent. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac and a quiet neighborhood with great neighbors. We homeschool our three boys, but we will keep them quiet between 9 PM and 8 AM! There is not much room to have your awning extended. Also, make sure you have approx. 50 feet of water & sewer hose, as the electric and water are on one side, but the sewer service is in the other. Also, anything over 30' in length might be difficult to fit due to the incline of the driveway.

We live at the end of a cul-de-sac in an old neighborhood west of the Ashley River in Charleston, South Carolina. Access to downtown Charleston is 20 minutes away and Folly beach is a 30 to 45 minute drive. We have full hook ups in our second driveway available for rent. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac and a quiet neighborhood with great neighbors. We homeschool our three boys, but we will keep them quiet between 9 PM and 8 AM! There is not much room to have your awning extended. Also, make sure you have approx. 50 feet of water & sewer hose, as the electric and water are on one side, but the sewer service is in the other. Also, anything over 30' in length might be difficult to fit due to the incline of the driveway.

Located near the 4,000-acre Botany Bay Wildlife Management Area, this is a prime spot for birders, wildlife enthusiasts, and cyclists in the spring, fall, and winter.
While it can be buggy in the summer, the location is only seven miles from the restaurants and grocery stores of Edisto Beach.
Edisto Beach is a unique barrier island with no stoplights, hotels, or big chain stores.
Edisto Island itself is home to a vibrant Gullah community, fresh produce, and local seafood. The Historic Hutchinson House is even your neighbor.
Please remember to pack in and pack out everything you need and only have fires in the designated fire pit.
While there is 2.5 acres of property, you may see neighbors next door. They don’t live there, but sometimes visit. Because the property is long and narrow, there is plenty of room to adjust your campsite for privacy.

The Hidden Gem was the perfect place for our style of camping. We stayed 4 nights on the property in a smaller class C with no toad. Our 11 year old blue heeler loved being off leash, and we enjoyed having the freedom to come and go without having to worry about disturbing other campers. Although getting an early Friday morning Uber into downtown Charlotte was a little frustrating and ending up being quite expensive, we only needed to do so one time. And fortunately coming back mid afternoon was much more reasonable. On the other days we simply disconnected from the services and drove our RV to our desired destinations, breakfast, lunch, and visits at historic sites.
James Island is a quiet and unassuming community and getting over the bridge to the “mainland “ was quick and easy. There are some great restaurants on the Island and plenty more places with great food offerings within 20 minutes or so.
James, our host, communicated efficiently and met us at the gate when we arrived. If you like privacy, seclusion, and simplicity, yet easy access to all the area has to offer, this is definitely worth the money

This is the best place so quiet so nice and close to Charleston. We really enjoyed our stay every morning a different animal was there to greet us. I love having donkeys in my motorhome.!

This was such a beautiful spot! The spots are semi close to eachother but still enough for privacy! We were able to purchase firewood from the host too! Make sure to get there early if you want a spot closer to the marsh. Overall such a good spot for a spontaneous stay.

The site was spotlessly cleaned. We loved the metal roofed weather cover. The location was central. Loved the full hook up, including wifi and garbage. The fire pit was awesome and the fact that some of the area was stoned for easy sitting and relaxing in the sun. Would definitely book again. Price was extremely fair.

We spent 6 nights during spring break with our 2 sons (6 and 15) and 4 dogs. It was a fun and interesting place to stay!
The campsite itself is large and private, despite its proximity to the main house. It’s separated from the other campsites, and the large live oaks with Spanish moss enhance the feeling of privacy.
The site was as described with power and water connections. There is no sewer or garbage, but we paid a nominal fee for trash and to dump our black/gray tanks at the campground on Hunting Island. There was a toilet tent and a solar, gravity shower tent just for our site. The toilet was a porta-potty type, but placed over a pit within the tent. It was clean and worked out fine for our stay. We used the shower in our camper, not the solar shower so I cannot review it.
Belinda and Tony were amazing hosts with fast response times and accommodated all our requests. My younger son loved all the free roaming animals. Belinda allowed him to interact with the animals as long as they came to our area of the property. These animals are not “pets” to be petted or picked up, but they are curious. My son would sit until the animals came to him so he could talk to them and he loved it. The fresh eggs were delicious too!
The location is great for Hunting Island, Port Royal, and Beaufort. We spent a lot of time on Hunting Island at the beach and the pier. We found shark teeth at Sands Beach and had a wonderful dinner in Beaufort.
This was a perfect base camp for our trip!

Great tour- could easily have spent more time there. Such historical significance and accurately and thoughtfully represented. Be on the first boat to get to help raise the flag above the fort!
