Diamond in the rough
26 ft Class C · With pets · The Hidden Gem was the perfect place for our style of camping. We stayed 4 nights on the property in a smaller class C with no toad. Our 11 year old blue heeler loved being off leash, and we enjoyed having the freedom to come and go without having to worry about disturbing other campers. Although getting an early Friday morning Uber into downtown Charlotte was a little frustrating and ending up being quite expensive, we only needed to do so one time. And fortunately coming back mid afternoon was much more reasonable. On the other days we simply disconnected from the services and drove our RV to our desired destinations, breakfast, lunch, and visits at historic sites.
James Island is a quiet and unassuming community and getting over the bridge to the “mainland “ was quick and easy. There are some great restaurants on the Island and plenty more places with great food offerings within 20 minutes or so.
James, our host, communicated efficiently and met us at the gate when we arrived. If you like privacy, seclusion, and simplicity, yet easy access to all the area has to offer, this is definitely worth the money
