Additionally, we raise vegetables and do a lot of agri-tourism including: summer camps, school field trips, and a large pumpkin patch maze each year.
Our accommodations include a primitive campsites along a salt water creek, and one RV siteon our farm.
We are located just 30 minutes from nearby beaches and downtown Charleston. Use our property as your base of operation as you have fun at the beach or tour the historic city, or just stay for a quiet get away in the woods.
There is also a lot of wildlife such as:
wild turkeys, woodstorks, raccoons, and alligators.
Fishing and crabbing are available on the salt water creek next to the campsite as well.

The river sites are separated by a small patch of woods, so if you are looking for complete privacy, Hill Top or Hill Side is the place to go. Here, you can enjoy an “off-the-grid” experience without giving up convenience: food delivery is still just a tap away, and last-minute essentials are an easy drive.
At Camp Moondog, our philosophy is simple: provide a carefree, clean, and natural environment for a relaxing camping experience. If we’re available, we’re happy to use our ATVs to help transport your gear to any of the campsites—just give us at least a day’s notice so we can plan to meet you.
Because the property naturally offers ample deadfall for firewood, we do not provide or sell pre-packaged bundles. Please keep this in mind if there has been recent rainfall, as the downed wood may be damp.

We are only 1/2 a mile from the Interstate 85. So bring your tents, campers or your small RV and come and setup down by the babbling Neal creek, or rent our private covered camper located on the horse farm. Build a nice fire in the fire pits. The firewood is provided, just bring your fire starter.
The Neal Creek campsites are semi-wooded areas with plenty of shade. They are very large private, peaceful and quiet sites.
The Back Forty Camping is semi-wooded area with plenty of privacy!
View the stars at night, relax during the day or if you are into biking or hiking, go to the Overmountain Victory trail located about 15 minutes away and enjoy the 6.7 mile loop around Lake Whelchel right off I-85.
Local attractions: Biking, Hiking, Climbing and Horse trails - Kings Mtn National Park, Kings Mtn State Park, Crowder's Mtn State Park, Overmountain Victory Trail Segment - Lake Whelchel.

Pick wild blackberries in early summer and wild grapes in late summer early fall, and we may share some of our home made jellies with you. We welcome family groups year round. At night enjoy the sounds of wildlife while watching the highly visible twinkling stars and tracing the many constellations and if lucky see a shooting star or two.

An incredible marsh front oasis. Beautiful sunsets, sunrises, and stars as far as the eye can see. A plethora of wildlife can be seen here. Bug spray is highly encouraged during warmer months.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The campsite was wonderful and surrounded by so much beautiful wildlife. It was honestly such a special experience getting to enjoy nature. Right above the wooden picnic table was a squirrel nest, and every day we got to watch five little baby squirrels come out to play! Every evening, four deer would run across the property, and we loved sitting back and watching them peacefully graze. At night, the whole place was so quiet and relaxing, with the sounds of owls in the distance. It was the perfect little nature escape!
But what really made our stay extra special was our host, Andrew. When my car battery died, he went out of his way to help us jump-start it. I truly appreciated his kindness and willingness to help us when we needed it. Andrew is a wonderful person, and having a host like him makes an already great camping experience even better.
If you're looking for a peaceful campsite where you can enjoy wildlife, unplug from the busy world, and feel welcomed by a genuinely kind host, I absolutely recommend staying here. We would happily come back again! Thank you, Andrew, for such a wonderful stay and for going above and beyond to help us! ❤️

It was so peaceful! You’re far enough away from the road that you barely hear any traffic. We were able to see and hear so many animals throughout the night. We even got to see the cows roaming around the land the next morning! Whether it’s a camping trip or just some time to unwind and unplug, this was the place! Make sure you follow the directions on how to get there!
