Private Oasis In The Forest

This place was amazing! My wife had never been camping before, and I haven’t been since I was a kid, so we really didn’t know what to expect. Alex was an amazing communicator and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. There was honestly a LOT more to this site than I expected. We booked the RV/Tent site, where I set up a tent in the back of my pickup. Alex also has a little cabin/shack with a porch overlooking the pond that he offered for us to use. He even let us take his little boat out on the pond, which gave my wife and me some quiet, romantic time together. The property was peaceful, secluded, and felt like our own little oasis. There are other tent sites, but we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. Alex also had cooking tools, pots, pans, and other supplies available if needed. You can hear some dogs way off in the distance at night, but it didn’t bother us at all. Getting into the site is a little bumpy, so drive slowly and expect some mud if it has been raining. We went during dry weather with a truck and had no issues. If you want somewhere to disconnect and get away from the world, I HIGHLY recommend this place. We are DEFINITELY coming back and hope to bring our kids when they’re a little older!

Alex is an amazing host. If you wanna get away, be left alone and completely secluded, this is the spot to go to. We had a little mix up on my part with scheduling, and he was amazing about it he went above and beyond to accommodate us.

This was an awesome site! Alex’s land is really nice. The pond was beautiful and made for an amazing serenade of frogs, birds, and toads - especially at night. The sites themselves have great spots to set up a large 6-man tent. The boat was fun to try out and there were some spots for fishing along the side of the pond as well. We liked the short hike around the pond and the road into the site was not too bad to access either. Alex is really great at communicating any questions and concerns and even messaged us letting us know it had rained up there and to be careful on the dirt road that morning before we checked in. Beautiful land and was exactly what we were hoping for.

Great primitive camping experience

Primitive, rustic, and secluded, but still close to a small nearby town. There are three campsites on the property, so if others are there, you’ll be fairly close to them. Luckily, no one else was there this weekend, so we had the whole place to ourselves. The property has a more natural, lightly maintained feel, so don’t expect a lot of modern upkeep—the rowboat has a hole and isn’t usable. The outdoor toilet is very exposed to the elements and could use some attention (the tank was full), but it worked fine for us. There’s plenty of firewood, and the fire pits are nice, with attached grates for cooking. There’s also a small trail around the pond that was fun to explore.

My time at the Pond Oasis

Once you sit down and listen to nature all around you will understand why this has been called an oasis by the pond.. pulling up to this spot with the sun shining and the wind just right felt like serenity.. walking the grounds first thing in the morning and after dinner was peaceful and inspired me to be creative. I cant thank the host enough for his hospitality and conversation throughout my stay at his oasis. The brooks and path were stunning and I can Only imagine what it looks like on a summers eve. The pond was active with geese and ducks and deer feeders are hung up in the bush so wild life is plenty. I truly had a peaceful time here at the oasis by the pond.

Great for Groups!

The property was really a great location for our group that were overall new to camping with amenities nearby to pickup groceries or go to a diner when needed! We really enjoyed taking turns on the row boat, and playing card games and monopoly in the cabin area at night. The campsite felt really private, but there was some barking from dogs nearby at night, and sometimes gunshots. Alex, the owner, was very responsive and helpful in finding local activities and resolving any issues we had during the stay!

Creepy Cabin in the Woods

Absolutely loved it. Perfect place to get away. Awesome creepy “Cabin in the Woods” vibes. When the sun went down the night came alive. We watched Evil Dead 2 in the cabin. This was an amazing trip. I will be booking this exact spot again. Love it!!!

My sons ans I had an amazing time. I was concerned about the possibility of thunderstorms so Alex told us to feel free to use the cabin and we did. We caught lots of blue gill. The cooking area is well equipped. I would highly recommend checking out Alex's property. We cant wait to go back.

Really pretty and quiet! We had a really good time even though it was the hottest it’s been this year so far. It was over 90° the whole time we were there so it was HOT but we still had an awesome time! Definitely recommend having a thermacell and bug spray as you ARE in the woods. There were a ton of flies but having chargeable fans definitely helped deter them away from us! We cooked over the fires had tons of laughs and such an awesome time! The road in is bumpy but we didn’t have any trouble getting in or out! The ground is full of quartz which is so pretty to look at but if you’re sleeping on the ground I would recommend a thick sleeping pad or cots! We had cots so it didn’t bother us at all!

Lovely!

We loved it! Amazing spot for our dog to roam, lovely but short trail around the lake, a little row boat we didn't use but would have been a fun little adventure - we set our tent up inside because the windows are wide open so just to keep bugs off us though we didn't notice many the night we were there - great experience especially for the price! We were tenting and it was calling for a thunderstorm and we couldn't have asked for a better spot to watch watch the rain come down and listen to it on the tin roof!
