Since we are far away from city lights, smog, buildings, and light pollution, we are one of the best places for stargazing near Los Angeles. You can see meteors, the Milky Way, planets, constellations, and the wildest starry night sky of your life. (For the best starry night view, make sure to book on a Clear Night (no clouds) with a New Moon.) The Starry Night Skoolie is one of the best kept secrets in the desert. With no neighbors, busy streets, or cities nearby, our tiny house is perfect for a romantic evening, a family trip, or even just a solo self-care trip. On a perfect day, the wind is light, the sun is warm, and the sky is a crystal clear blue. The sunset calls you to quietly meditate. The starry night sky feels like you could fall straight into it, completely forgetting that you're still here on earth. Enjoy walking around all 10 acres of land. Stargazing Campground
There are many things to love about camping on Billimarie's land. The first is the friendly host who made sure we were settled and encouraged us to explore the land, her small garden, the skoolie bus and the chickens. Prior to arrival, she made sure we had everything we needed to get there. It's a beautiful, quiet space. It is a long way from anywhere, involving a good number of dirt roads., and the gate into the place is narrow. There is no electric, but delicious water is supplied by the host with a big jug and a pitcher. This is truly a boondocking spot. If you want to get away, this is the spot.

Charming airstream
The Starstream
Such a beautiful piece of land. You can see for miles and miles . It’s so private with zero light pollution so the stars are many and the sunrise and sunsets are breathtaking. The host is so helpful and kind. This place really is charming and a great place to get away and relax. I really love how the host took care of me and how she went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. I will definitely be back!

A perfect escape

A beautiful space isolated from everything, just what I needed. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the heater worked amazingly. She is such a generous and kind host and I’m so glad I got to meet her. My stay was very short, but I hope to come back.

Travelers: Mom, girls 4, 11, & 14 yr olds, and dog. We had a great time and loved it! The Older girls brought out the comfy tri-fold bed from the skoolie and slept in a requesed tent while the rest of us enjoyed the warmth of the heater and bed inside. The pillows, sheets and extra blankets were provided. The girls used sleeping bags in the tent. Occasionally the winds would pick up so plan for that. Extra lanterns and headlamps are useful to have. The bathroom situation took a minute to get used to but it does come with an amazing view if you open the rear door. No pun intended. Billimarie came by to do a mid-stay clean-out. Very much appreciated. I brought my 2 burner camp stove because cooking outside is just better in my humble opinion but the burner inside the skoolie was very useful as well (winds). She has a charcoal grill. I requested the metal firepit as an add-on but we ended up digging our own firepit which was way better. Each morning we fed the sweet chickens, who let us pet them gently. On our 4th and last morning a trio pack of friendly dog strays came for a visit. Sadly, they didn't stay long enough to be rescued, let alone fed. Billimarie is a gracious hostess and very willing to make one's stay comfortable and more enjoyable. Her mission to share this experience and be an example of the reuse and repurpose of resources is admirable. She is a lovely teacher who inspires. The crew and I didn't want to leave. We're already making plans to go back.

We cant express how thankful we were to Billimarie the host for welcoming us into the magical space she has created. The Starry Night Skoolie was the perfect place to get off the grid to celebrate our sons 5th B-day! The amenities she included made the trip especially pleasant. It was so special for our son to be able to plant a tree in honor of his 5th Birthday! We can't wait to come back to see how his mulberry tree is growing as he continues to grow along side of it!

We loved the skoolie. The environment (especially the starry night sky) was magnificent. Our kids (6 & 3) played around and had the time of their life. The skoolie has everything you need in it. The place was easy to find as we received a very clear description before our arrival. We did not meet Billimarie, but the contact with her was flawless and very very friendly. Wifi at the place was super fast!

We had such a fun day, I wish we could have stayed longer! Billiemarie was very easy to communicate with, she was very prompt. The bus has all the essentials you might need. Bed was super comfy. It was also nice to see my tween unplug and learn essential tools such as building a fire and my city raised dog loved running freely, she didn't know what to make of it at first! And the stars were bright! I will say the time we went was windy, but it finally died down around 10 pm and was not windy the next morning. I really enjoyed that the cute school bus was completely self sufficient and eco conscious. It proved to me we can and should be more mindful of our footprint. I am looking forward to coming back and seeing this eclectic rental grow. Thank you again, Billiemarie

Underneath the stars

The Skoolie was a fun place to glamp. It had all the convinience we needed, a working kitchen, comfortable mattress, and clean bathroom. But what stood out was two things: 1. The host: Billiemarie is a kind and thoughtful host. We came after a loss of a friend & she left us a heartfelt card and ancient grains to spread to honor our friend. 2 The place itself: it is the space we needed for what our intentions were for the weekend, a place in nature to rest & rejuvinate with peace and quiet. We got to enjoy watching the sunrise, sunset & watch the beautiful sky filled with stars. Thank you for hosting us. Til the next time.

This was a wonderful stay for me. Peaceful & quiet with amazing views of the stars and mountains in the distance. Billimarie was a stellar host who was accommodating, friendly and unbelievably quick to respond to any of my questions or concerns. I felt extremely welcomed and comfortable at her skoolie! The bus itself had everything I needed and more. I would 100% recommend this spot to anyone trying to escape the city. I will most certainly be returning and look forward to it. Thank you Billimarie, I'm very satisfied with my stay. It was everything I could ask for!!!

If I recognized it correct, the toilet is a bowl not a real toilet. The wifi should mean that you have connection to your service, isnt a real service. But all in all it is a nice place for a group

Quiet, spacious and private enough. Billimarie was very communicative and helpful. The outdoors were perfect; too cloudy for stars but I have faith that it's a good spot on a clear night. Easy for a 2wd. Peaceful area.

Our first time really camping out in the middle of a desert but Billimarie made it perfect. Not only did she come out to welcome us she also made sure we had everything we needed. We camped in our own vehicle but the skoolie looks like a great place to spend a few nights as well. Unfortunately it was crazy windy the night we stayed but my son still had fun exploring the property as much as we could.

My boyfriend and I spent our anniversary weekend at the skoolie and we're so glad to have found this listing because we absolutely loved our time here, albeit too short. Billimarie's hospitality was above and beyond and you can tell how compassionate she is about the skoolie and the land. Everything was so neat and cozy - we wished we could've stayed longer! We took our kitties with us, and they both already felt like home so we highly recommend the skoolie for other cat parents with adventurous felines. We also had the chance to play with puppies they're currently fostering, which was a cute way to end our trip. Lastly, don't forget to look up at the stars. Luckily, we had a clear night sky and were able to look up at the stars. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely plan on coming back in the future. Thanks for making our first Hipcamp experience one to remember!

Our family of 4 (with our 7yo and 3yo) had so much fun sleeping in Billimarie's amazing skoolie - there were so many amazing details and fun touches, like a pink typewriter, a propane stove in the kitchen drawer, and decor that told stories. Billimarie was camping with her mother and daughter on the property and it was wonderful experiencing their generous hospitality, eating together, roasting marshmallows and watching the kids play with each other while Billimarie and her mother cared for their rescue dogs. Billimarie was a responsive and friendly host, and it was incredible to hear her story and vision for the land to reforest it. My son even got to help plant a new tree among the young olives and pines (one even had sprouted a pinecone! In the desert!). Thanks for the memories!

Comfortable Stay With a Great View!

We had a wonderful time at the Skoolie. The instructions Billimarie gave us were very clear and helpful, the atmosphere of the skoolie was amazing, the area was so calm and peaceful, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. The host left us plenty of generators to keep the AC going and keep the inside of the Skoolie very comfortable. I get really uncomfortable easily in the heat, and I felt great the entire time. The view of the stars was unbelievable and we got a nice campfire going in the fire pit. Billimarie was so kind and helpful and we felt so welcome in her space. The vibes inside were really wonderful and we got the couples package and the bed was very comfy. Essentially, all we packed was food and entertainment and the rest was provided for us! I would highly recommend this stay and we look forward to when we can go again!

There were many steps taken to ensure a welcoming and comfortable stay. Highly recommend checking out this hidden gem, will visit again just for the stars. The bus was a cozy and different way to experience the desert with much needed AC. 10/10 will be back
