This was one of my favorite campsites I've ever been to! I have camped in Santa Cruz, Pismo and Big Sur, Yosemite as an example of a few places I've been and Bailles Farm is right at the top of the list. My husband is recovering from a stroke and with a little help from me was able to navigate the terrain of the site. The car was able to pull right up to unload. It reminded me of a cross between a cabin and tent; an outdoor experience and camping feel with the privacy of your own toilet and shower along with convenience of a kitchen and bed. If you are a nature buff like me, having a view of the valley WHILE using the facilities and showering is an amazing experience. I'd consider the site "user friendly" even for a first time camper. Our car is a Toyota Corolla and we had no trouble on the drive up. I suggest printing out your instructions or downloading them to your phone. I wish I'd printed reverse directions and map/photos the host provided via email because once you are on the back roads service gets spotty, although we did get reception once at the site. The firewood provided for the pot belly stove inside was gone and after a quick text, they brought us some more. Extremely courteous exchange with the host regarding this and questions we had on the way up. Make sure to take advantage of the hammock swings at sunset like we did and make s'mores or hotdogs over the gas fire pit at night. We will definitely be back. Thanks for hosting us!

Dome Home under the Queen Palms is a "must stay" for those who are looking for a unique glamping experience.
My husband loved using the (propane) barbeque grill to prepare a scrumptious dinner. Even though we brought along our own sauces and spices, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that there were already quite a few salts, spices and oil in the cabinet. Please note that if you need to use sugar or honey, you must bring along your own as there is only artificial sweetener available. (This is completely understandable as storing sugar in the cabinet would only attract unwanted ants and other insects.)
We used the utensils provided, to cook a hearty breakfast in the morning and I used the French Press to make coffee. There is a kettle to boil water and tea bags in case you enjoy English Tea or Green Tea...
The Dome has a bunk bed to sleep in and the lower bed is larger than the upper one. The mattresses are extremely comfortable alongwith the bed covers and we didn't need to use our comforters which we had carried along. Maybe during the winter months you would need your own comforters. I would recommend however taking your own pillows, especially if you know that you would only sleep well on your own pillow.
At night solar lights come on to brighten the dining area which is a long wooden table with wooden benches on either side.
The restroom area a a little walk away from the Dome. We carried a bottle of water to pour down after peeing each time, to keep odors away.

Hilltop Lodge Tiny House
We loved everything about our stay at the hilltop lodge. Great views, so relaxing and peaceful and lots of helpful amenities to make it easy and comfortable. Bed was very cozy for a full nights rest. We will definitely come back again.

Fantastic spot and perfect for a family w kids or couples for a getaway. Came with my husband, 3yo son and 9m baby. Baby could only crawl on the bed and we had to improvise for a safe sleep situation 😅 Toilet had a gorgeous view of nature and there were fun tiny trails around for us that were perfect for our family while we parents switched off cooking.
Def recommend the 4WD or hopefully you have good weather and your car can handle terrain. Also highly recommend to save the map photos and screenshot instructions so you don’t get lost with the spotty connection.

It’s perfect place for a digital detox. Slow down, cook some food, hike around, play guitar, enjoy a starry night. And make a good cup of coffee in the morning and plan your next getaway. Loved it.

This place was fantastic. If you are into this way of spending some night and days you should here! The three of us (mom, dad, daughter) couldn't have been more pleased with the set up of the camp and cuteness of the yurt. Had shade when it was warm, always a good breeze, we enjoyed the boulder park and flat rock. We are from Florida (think flat :) ) so the drive in once off the main road had me gripping the steering wheel a little. But we were fine. We had a wonderful stay!

My teen boys and husband had a great time at the Dome. It was a great 24 hrs of digital detox. We hiked, bbqd, played cards, and threw a ball for our dog. Everything is there for you including extra blankets, sheets, comfy beds, fridge, cooktop, bbq. It is definitely glamping. Highly recommended.

Christoper has done everything possible to make sure you have everything you need to have a relaxing time or go hiking on miles of trails. The kitchen is fully stocked, all the essentials. The dome is very comfortable and is easy to stay warm in the cold months is easy to keep warm. Curious to see how it is in summer.
All you need to do is bring blankets and a sense of adventure. Make sure you keep a leash on your little dogs. the vultures knew he was there and were waiting. Haha.
Get ready to poop outside! It’s surprisingly relaxing.
Leave a rock :) Keep the tradition going.

The Dom was awesome for myself and my 2 kids. I brought them for their first camping trip and it was perfect for us because I didn't need to set up anything, it was all set for us: beds, heated dome tent, outdoor kitchen, etc. We only stayed one night but that was a great start. My kids and dog were able to go adventuring on their own and found the stream. The kitchen was great, just a tip, be prepared with an alternative meal that can be cooked on the grill instead of the stovetop if it's too windy. The wind was blowing so much that it was difficult to even light it and the food took too long to get hot we just gave up and put it on the grill. The beds were SUPER comfortable and cozy. The land is beautiful. I would give myself an additional 30-60 minutes to get in and get out because it's tricky to find the Dome and pretty tricky to get back out as well (little exit signs would help). It was scary driving on the roads but we made it in a Toyota Highlander Hybrid easily, it just looks scary. Overall, my kids want to go back and so does my dog!

The location was awesome. Felt like I was tucked in the hills far away even with it being a short ride from San Diego. The amenities were top notch. We had everything we needed plus more !

We enjoyed our stay at the Hilltop Lodge! The views were great and it was an amazing spot for star gazing. It was the perfect amount of privacy where you could see some of the other properties on the site and not feel completely isolated but were not close enough where you could hear people at other sites. We had some issues with the propane burners in the outdoor kitchen because of how windy it was, but other than that everything worked well. Would definitely come back and try out some of the other properties!

Burning Man Bus
We loved our stay at the burning man bus!! It was perfect! The views overlooking the mountains to the ocean, a propane campfire with a glass of wine, the nice outdoor kitchen bbq’ing some steaks, the most comfortable bed with the utmost peace and quiet, and the best part of the entire stay: the outdoor hot shower while overlooking the whole valley and feeling the light breeze on a 78 degree day. Every single thing was perfect including the hammocks which were a wonderful treat. We will definitely come back for a relaxing weekend getaway. Would highly recommend anyone to stay at the burning man bus at least once. It will be a very memorable experience.

This was such a fun trip and such a unique and cool place to stay. The Burning Man bus is amazing - as I lay there at night I thought "this bus has seen things!" I can not tell you how beautiful the views from this location were - I was so glad to know that these places still exist. Great kitchen, bathroom, comfy bed. Thank you.

The Burning Man Bus was a hit! My kids loved it. It was easy to get to, private and loved the set up. I was a little nervous about the cold weather and sleeping in the bus BUT there was no issue. I brought a few extra blankets and it was perfect. The outdoor shower was clutch and you a pretty view. I highly recommend staying there. My kids are already eating to go back!

The Dome Home was the bees knees! I already re-booked for next year when I'll be in the area. It was like they thought of everything you could ever need in an accommodation. Plenty of nice lounging spots, good lighting for night time, all the cooking amenities, cozy vibes, incredible views, and a serene setting.

Burning Man Bus
What a wonderful stay! We were so impressed with the bus's amenities and how thoughtful our host was with how he designed the site. There are other campsites nearby but you wouldn't know it because it feels very private and takes into account the natural features to give you your own space. We were very comfortable and thrilled we could bring our pups.

Awesome dome house! Kitchen has everything you need! Cool flat rock to climb and boulder park was a nice addition as well! Our dog had an absolute blast running around, very private! Great views! We’ve stayed at multiple properties at Bailes farm and we enjoy our stay everytime! Lots of different glamping styles to choose from and we enjoy them all! Thanks again for another great stay.
