We are nestled in between Mt. Humphrey and the White Horse Hills and gratefully border National Forest on two sides of our 25 acre property. We want to share our secluded, peaceful piece of land with other nature loving people. Welcome! Learn more about this land: 25 acres of beautiful heavily wooded forest to park your RV/trailer or to pitch your tent on! A rooftop tent campsite is available to rent for $40 per night. It comes with a stove and cooking utensils. We are 100% off grid and are surrounded by Ponderosa Pine off of highway 180, 30 minutes outside of Flagstaff. Rest assured, only trees, wildlife and silence will surround you! Beautiful, unobstructed views of Mt. Humphrey are available on the east side and property is secured by a locked gate every night. Only scheduled visitors will be allowed onto property. Except for our small cabin and shed at the end of our long driveway, this is undeveloped land. Guests will need to veer off driveway into the forest. Tree stumps may need to be avoided !We are within walking distance to the Arizona Trail, Abineau and Bear Jaw trails and located near Bismarck Lake, Crater Lake, and White Horse Hills. Guided hikes are available upon request as well as evening guided meditations! Fire rings will be placed randomly around the property and may be used only when fire bans are not in place. Fires are not allowed anywhere else on the land, unless you bring your own fire pit and it is approved by the owner. Water can be purchased to fill RV tanks or storage containers at main house. Firewood is also available for purchase. Wildlife proliferates our land. It is not unusually to catch a glimpse of bear, skunk, porcupine, deer, elk, and coyote. While these animals are quite shy, we do not wish for them to be drawn in by food. Therefore garbage needs to be contained at all times and left either in your vehicle or RV at night. If you are a backpacker, owner will dispose of any garbage you may have for a small fee.

Bethany was a great host we hit heavy traffic on the 17 and delayed our arrival by several hours. She met us down the road and guided us back to our spot since it was dark already. Spot we used was nice with a fire pit and great trees providing plenty of shade. The AZ trail is about a mile down the road with easy access. Great hikes around and we even made an impromptu drive to see the Grand Canyon. We will be back! Thanks again Bethany

Peaceful Retreat
I had a wonderful time at Bethany's place for two nights over Labor Day weekend. On holiday weekends, I try and stay at a Hipcamp property to avoid the crowds and noise. So when I found this listing, I jumped on it immediately because of its location (8000-foot elevation) and the forest I saw in the pictures. I arrived Thursday night just before sundown so that I could set up some camp essentials and start a fire. I found the area to be tranquil, remote, and cozy. Due to the monsoon rains, the grounds were covered in lush green grass. The site I selected was probably 200 yards from the main road so traffic noise was at a minimum. Friday morning I went for a short ride with my fat bike on the main road. The traffic was light and the road was in really good shape. I saw several runners and other mountain bikers in the area, so if that's your thing, you'll love it! Tip: When I clicked on the Map within the Hipcamp app, the coordinates took me directly to the front entrance of the property. Given the chance, I will definitely stay here again!

Cool Forest
Bethany was a gracious and helpful hostess. I had a few questions about where to camp and so she walked me around to the various sites to see where I would get the best solar exposure. The coolness of the forest was a great relief from the heat in the high desert where I live. If you can, please stop and walk around when you get on to the forest roads. There is lots to see on this last leg of your journey, but you must go slowly and watch for the ruts that the loggers left in the road last winter.

Wildlife and Starry Skies!
This was a wonderful stary night location for tent camping before hiking the Abineau - Bear Jaw loop. The views from the site were great and we got to watch the wildlife while reading as the sun set without any distractions. Would definitely recommend! The access road is no joke though, come in daylight!

Sweet spot
This location has a gorgeous view of mt Humphrey. The site closest to the Mountain view was bigger than expected and accommodated my family well. There’s a forest road close by, but didn’t bother us a bit. Kids loved roaming the forest and great spots for hammocks! Word of warning, if you have high winds on the forecast, I recommend the more tree’d area as we fought flying dirt quite a bit. Would definitely book again. It was also an easy, quick drive to the Lava Cave which was a winner in my kids book.

Beautiful area! It happened to snow that night but the fire pit in the campsite helped to keep us warm. Would recommend if looking for a quiet time in the woods!

Mountain view
Although the site was closed for winter, she still allowed me to stay on her property which was really nice. The view of the mountain is incredible :)

Humphreys Peak Retreat
The camp spot was beautiful, tucked among mountain pine but for all the driving down bumpy dirt roads to this fairly remote location, it was not a real wilderness experience. Vehicles passed on a dirt road nearby and a neighbor’s house was just around the corner with windows facing the site. So being that it’s a primitive site with no outhouse, taking a discreet outdoor pee was a bit of a challenge. The big plus was the fire ring and the excellent firewood that we got from our host. It was the most gorgeous campfire we had in all our travels. If you stay here be sure to get here before dark. The road is a challenge.

Pristine forest car camping getaway
Fantastic location and wonderfully accommodating host. Bethany gave me a quick tour upon arrival with multiple locations fire ring and camping ready. She also introduced her lovely great Dane to my Springer spaniel so there would be no surprises between the two later. Amazing hiking just minutes away. We did the Abineau to Bear Jaw trail and it was fantastic at 7 miles and 1900 feet elevation gain. Proximity to Flagstaff and Grand canyon south rim is great. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
