Meadview Arizona was founded in 1826 by Jedediah Smith on his Southwest Expedition in search for Beaver! Staying a small remote and quiet town it can feel like it would have in the Wild West. We obtained our campground from a couple that owned it for 20 years but just weren't able to do to it what they had originally planned.. So it was essentially a blank canvas for us to create!!  We are the closest town to the Grand Canyon SKYWALK, which is just 40 minutes from us. Meadview, the town we are located, is the only place to obtain Free Entree to the Lake Mead Recreational Center.  Our Campground just 10 miles from Lake Mead and 17 Miles from the Colorado River.  We have outstanding Lookouts, Top notch Stargazing, Gold Prospecting, Bird Watching, Fishing, Off Roading etc. Some of the Best Desert Off-Roading through trails within the Joshua Tree National Forest, Please note you must bring your own OHV, horse, etc, there is currently no rentals available.  We do have Kayaks to rent upon arrival. There is a hidden water fall in the Grapevine Wash that you can get to with a 4 wheel vehicle and you hike in about 15 minutes in. Stunning views and gorgeous natural spring and waterfall. We are 45 minutes off the 93 Freeway Free WIFI provided at the office!..  The town doesn't always have a powerful signal, please keep that in mind in your travels.  However, if you have Verizon, it gets GREAT service! There are three restaurants in town, all just one mile from site... The Boathouse, Anchor Smokehouse and Fishermans Landing Bar.  We have a Bakery called Rosemary and Thyme that serves Delicious foods & Pastries and makes great coffees.  There is also a Gas n Grub that has ice, propane etc... 5 miles away is a Family Dollar store which we lovingly call the "Mall of Meadview"

The Farmhouse.. Desert Glamping
Dave and lil’ dog willow are very sweet. Hooked me with with some water when the lines froze over night, so I could make some coffee. Trailer was cute and the heater kept me cozy in the middle of January!

The Farmhouse.. Desert Glamping
Cute & cozy
Unfortunately we did not get to meet our host Samantha, as we got in late from a 14 hour road trip. Our little trailer was cute and easy to find. It was cozy, warm and felt like home. (We’re full time travel trailer living) Next time we’d like to check out the mini hotel: it looked cute too!! Thank you for hosting & we hope to be back!

Nice place to pitch a tent. Plenty of room. Clean bathroom with shower. The host had a roaring fire going in the morning with hot coffee to warm up with. Thanks Dave. The only complaint was it’s location next to a busy gravel road with lots of dust.

The Majestic - Desert Getaway
Cute little one of four in the mini motel. The room was not aa 'mini' as expected honestly, which was nice. Easy to maneuve - evem during long cols nights, but the heating kept us warm. Traveler's, as always, make sure you have to he appropriate map and directions and communications somewhere for offline

Route.66 - Desert Getway Mini Motel
Perfect desert getaway!
Had an amazing time at the Happy Trails campground!! The mini motel is located on a campground that contains 4 mini motel rooms, glamping sites, tent camping sites, and rv camping sites that makes for good community and great desert vibes! The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Dave, the camp manager was very friendly and accommodating and provided us with coffee in the mornings! Also had fun exploring the small town of meadview, lake mead, grand canyon, and colorado river.

Route.66 - Desert Getway Mini Motel
Perfect Desert Getaway!
Had such a wonderful time at the Happy Trails campground! Our mini motel room was just what we needed for our 2 night stay. Comfortable bed with sink, toilet, and shower. We enjoyed relaxing with the tv mid day when it was too hot for us to hike. Their property contains a mixture of the mini motel, Glampers, tent campsites, and Rv campsites with an AWESOME view of the mountains. Dave, the property manager was very nice to converse with and he provided coffee for us in the morning.

Beautiful and cozy cabin with a nice bed and bath. The place is about 45 minutes away from Grand canyon west which made it a perfect spot for the night halt on our road trip.

Happy Trails Campground
I stayed there for 3 nights in September and it was amazing! There are both men and women bathrooms with a shower in each. Outlets inside the bathrooms for charging but not at the tenting campsites. Everyone was super nice and helpful and there was complimentary coffee in the morning! It was a great experience and a beautiful well kept campground. Definitely going back again!

Happy trails
Loved it! Right next to the lake. I mean right by it. With insane views of the sunset over the lake and canyons/mountains. Turn around and sunrise over the grand canyon. Absolutely relaxing, 3 restaurants, all serve alcohol. Great place to completely escape reality. I stayed in one of the "mini motel" and it has the barr necessities. Running water, and septic so don't worry. AC in the units, clean room and bed. Showering the tub and sink/mirror. I will be back

No frills type of place, although the shower is a huge plus in the heat of the desert. I got there and was greeted and escorted to my campsite, and was able to relax for the rest of the day. Great views!

Camping with kids made easy!
The views were amazing! There was a playground and our kids stayed there most of the time. Although we didn't have time to fit it in, there were ATVs available for rent and something to consider for next time. The flush toilets and hot showers were super convenient. The complimentary coffee in the mornings was definitely an added bonus. There were local stores and restaurants where we found everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay at Happy Trails and certainly recommend it.

Great place with clean restrooms and showers and tent spots are big enough to fit a camper van. Samantha responded to all our questions when we arrived late at the campsite.

Urban Cowboy Desert Glamper
Amazing getaway near the mountains
Beautiful place on beautiful land. A little under 2 hours outside of Henderson, this is the perfect getaway for those city folk wanting to spend some time out by the mountains. The camper was clean, well prepared, and equipped. The bed was super comfy too! All around wonderful place :) can’t wait to share my experience with future hipcampers !

The hosts were very welcoming. The property is well maintained the showers and bathrooms are very nice. And laundry is available if you need it. One thing I would have liked to have known though was going to the Grand canyon on the West side requires an entrance fee to get to the reservation and then additional fees to go on any additional items.

The drive in was EPIC!
The drive in to Happy Trails Campground was EPIC! Being surrounded by a beautiful landscape and thousands of Joshua Trees the whole time was amazing, not to mention we also drove in during the golden hour just as the sun was about to set so the lighting was amazing. Our campsite was perfect and quiet and once the sun went down the stars were amazing. Bathrooms were clean and everyone was really friendly. They even gave us freshly brewed coffee in the morning before we headed to the Grand Canyon. I would definitely stay here again both for the drive in and the amazing stars at night. 10/10 👍

Perfect and serene
Our stay was amazing and peaceful! From the moment we booked our stay with Samantha, to our check in meeting Scarlett, Hans, Dave and can’t forget Willow and our checking out, everyone was so sweet, helpful and welcoming! This was the perfect getaway for us and our fur babies and we will definitely be coming back every year! We stayed in the urban cowboy and it felt so comfortable and homey! We didn’t want to leave!

Good bed good people and good views
The views were amazing and the people who work there are full of unique stories. The rooms were very nice and had everything you could need for a stop while traveling out in the desert. However bring ice because there is no fridge. 10/10 would visit again.
