If brushing up on your volcanism while communing with nature appeals, you'll love Seaquest. It's home to the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center, where you'll find a fascinating collection of info on the history and geology of the volcano.
Stay in one of the five yurts nestled in a wooded area of the park, and it's a short walk to the visitor center. For longer leg stretches, you've got 1 mile of wetland trail and 6 gorgeous miles of woodland trails to hike or bike.
The beautifully forested park affords spectacular wildlife viewing in both wetland and lowland forest habitats. Seaquest occupies over a mile of shoreline on the 10-feet-deep Silver Lake. This shallow body of water was formed when a previous eruption of Mount St. Helens permanently dammed Silver Creek.
