5.2mi from Muckross State Park · 4 sites · Tents, RVs · Charlestown, NH
Sweet Song Acres is 100+ acres of secluded forest nestled along the Little Sugar River, at the base of Perry Mountain. Located in rural Unity, NH and Charlestown, NH, just across the Vermont state line. Southernmost point, located in Charlestown is one of two campsites. The other is Shady Grove, located in Unity. The two sites, located in bordering towns share the same entrance and are connected by a 1/4 mile trail. Both are very large sites. Campers would drive to both sites down a trail so we highly recommend a vehicle with decent clearance and 4WD or AWD. Southernmost Point is a fully drive-in site. Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so. The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. There are many options of local outdoor activities in the area or if you prefer, just sit and "listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul".

We live on a 30 acre homestead in southern Vermont. Besides our animals (chickens, border collies, and cats), we have a beautiful pond, outdoor brick pizza oven (with advance request we can deliver fresh pizza to your campsite), a lean-to where you can gather for dinner or put your tent under if the weather is bad, gardens, the best star gazing you can find, and a beautiful view. Watch and listen to the birds, hang out with the goats, chill in the hammock, or explore Southern Vermont. We live and work on the property. Our campsite allows a max of 4 people and parking for two cars. Since 2019, we've been hosting campers, earning a reputation as proud superhosts with 5-star reviews on AirBnb. While camping with us, you’ll meet our friendly border collie, Stevie, farm cats Walter and Frida, and a lively flock of chickens. With advance notice, we offer farm-made pizzas from our outdoor oven, delivered directly to your campsite. It all started on a first date in Boston....Nick had to excuse himself to take a phone call. His cow had fled its pasture. Much to Tara's surprise in that moment, this man she had just met was finishing his engineering degree at Northeastern, but was simultaneously building a homestead in Vermont. Fast forward 7 years, and here we are, building the life we only dreamed of. We yearned for simplicity. Deeper connections to our surroundings and mother nature. A calmer sense of place. The satisfaction that comes from growing food. Creating with our hands. We're a working farm and homestead. Every day at Quarry Brook is a new adventure, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re incredibly excited to share our little corner of southern Vermont and what we’re up to with you!

Rustic and Comfortable Cabins. No power lines cross our property. We have no blaring screens to distract us from the sound of the wind in the leaves or to call us back to the whirl of modern life. But that does not mean we are without any comforts. Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, hot and cold running spring water, indoor bathroom, and overhead LP gas lamps. Nestled in the forest at meadow's edge, Cold Spring Cabin has an outdoor shower and indoor tub. Perched on a hill near the Farm Pond, Ripley Hill Cabin has an indoor shower and tub. The cabins are rustic, but clean and airy. The luxuries at Forest Echo Farm are not inside the cabins; they are found in the light that fills the forest in late afternoon, the silence of an evening canoe and the moonlit sparkle of dewdrops at midnight. Forest Echo Farm includes 360 acres, extensive shore to a 26-acre protected pond, numerous trails, and half a mountain. The Farm Pond offers a refreshing ‘dip’ to cool off. A hike from each cabin leads to Tiny Pond, an unspoiled lake where canoe, kayak and raft are available for shared use. Hiking trails are on the property. In addition to local trails, the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail are nearby. The surrounding area is chock full of restaurants, antique stores, country stores, bakeries, farm stands, farmers markets, general shopping, historic sites, hiking, swimming holes and scenic drives. Preserving and Sharing the Land. Forest Echo Farm is owned by a cooperative group of families and individuals who are committed to the values of simple living and the preservation of our environment. Forest Echo cabins offer a relaxing retreat where you can unplug and reconnect. The Forest Echo Farm community is dedicated to preserving our land, maintaining a balance between our human presence and the natural character of the forest, lakes, and mountains. Through the Vermont Land Trust, we have set aside 80% of our land to ensure that it will never be developed.

22mi from Muckross State Park · 1 site · Tent, RV · Rawsonville, VT
My home is the original Diers Homestead, established in 1940. It was named The Chicken Ranch in the 1960’s. There aren’t any chickens, but there are many forest creatures that wander out of the Green Mountain National Forest & into the meadow. You may see foxes, deer, moose, large marmots, and lots of different birds including wild turkeys & great blue herons. Apple trees of many varieties are scattered around. Come eat freely when they fruit! You’ll be camping on a hill with a fire ring nearby. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets are both visible as the meadow is open to the south, east & west. This is a special place in a perfect location. If you like to explore by foot, there’s a network of private hiking trails and a river to cool off in, both within 1/4 mile from your campsite. Also easily within walking distance is the village of Rawsonville: Ungrounded Coffee, Meulemans' Craft Draughts, Honeypie, Family Kitchen and Pizzeria, Mountain Riders, Equipe Sport & the Rawsonville Marketplace where you can get basic supplies and fuel. Speaking of fuel, if you really want to roll your wheels… Stratton Village is 8 minutes by car. Take a gondola ride to the top and check out the fire tower where you can see the entire lower half of Vermont state on a clear day. The village centers of Jamaica, Londonderry and Peru are also very close by and boast great food and crafts. And there’s always Manchester, if you’re seeking lots of shopping and fine dining. Horseback riding is a 15 minute drive from the campsite at Horses For Hire in Peru. This is a truly authentic experience. Trail rides for all abilities- even the “pony ride” for the little kids is a trail through the woods. Not to be missed! Also in Peru is Bromley Mountain which, during the summer months, becomes The Thrill Zone featuring a giant alpine slide. At Bee Well Homestead in Jamaica, there is authentic BBQ, live music and yoga every Sunday morning. The New American Grill in Londonderry has a wide selection of delicious food and their open mic night on Thursdays feature very talented local musicians. Even though it’s so close to all these uniquely wonderful people and their businesses, it is really just off a little country road - the best of both worlds!

It's lambing time!!! This is the best time of year to visit us, as maximum cuteness is running around just a short walk across the suspension bridge from where you will be staying! We currently have 11 newborn lambs all less than two weeks old (two new arrivals today!) and two ewes are still waiting to deliver. Who knows...maybe they will wait til you get here! Our farm was named after the summer home of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Trollhaugen Farm means Troll hill, but the only real trolls around these parts are the sheep. Our farm has sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that you are welcome to visit. The yurt sits under the trees next to a babbling brook. A suspension bridge connects you to the farm area. The yurt is private and has a fire pit right out back where you can grill or just sit and enjoy the fire. The colorful yurt offers a comfy four poster bed, a small kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and composting toilet. This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt. Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum. Please come visit us!
