Great little spot! Private, and thoughtful off-grid camping. Nice fire pit and seasoned wood, with sink/shower and comfortable bed. Looking forward to coming back and exploring the trails!

Perfect spot for a weekend away!
It was a pleasure to stay at the Sugar Shack and Farm Campsite. The campsite was close to the location of an event I was attending that weekend, so it was very convenient. Marty was very friendly and showed me around the property so I knew where everything was, including some nice trails and a spot for viewing the sunset. It was a cold weekend, and they offered to bring me an extra blanket, but I was totally fine with my sleeping bag. Thanks to both Carol and Marty for a cute campsite and a great stay!

Vermont living at it’s finest!
The sugar shack set up is perfect for those that want to camp but don’t have all the gear. From fresh running water to the cleanest outhouse I’ve seen (not a spider in sight, we checked!) Carol and Marty have created a little slice of camping heaven on the edge of their blueberry farm. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back to explore the many trails accessible from the site!

Starry night and fun canoe trip!
We loved staying at the Sugar Shack! We can't recommend it enough!
Beautiful and private location with great views. The Sugar Shack is small but cozy, and the bed is comfortable. It was a bit cold that night, but we brought an extra blanket, and Carol and Marty offered us a quilt, so we were warm and comfy.
The place is in a private corner of the property, separated from the main house by a blueberry field and surrounded by the forest. There are no artificial lights at night, and you get an incredible view of the stars.
Marty was an incredible host, very kind and informative. When we got there, he showed us the place and ensured we were comfortable. We had booked a canoe for the morning to kayak on the river close to the property. However, the nearby dam was closed, and that part of the river wasn't accessible, so Marty drove us to another beautiful spot near the Connecticut river. He drew a map and explained the route to follow and what we would find along it. We had so much fun on the river and were the only ones out there. We highly recommend renting a canoe and following that route; it was the highlight of our trip! :)

Great place to stay. The surrounding farm made for a great view while eating at the picnic table. The sugar shack itself was a comfy place to sleep and the surrounding trails were super fun to explore while my dog. I definitely recommend staying here.

Very private location located near the blueberry grove. The shack was clean and cozy. You could hear the coyotes howling in the distance at night. Carol and Marty were very accommodating hosts. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at the sugar shack. It sits on a private corner of the property. Lots of birds to watch. Nice hammock to relax and look up at the stars at night. Marty’s firewood was the best we have ever lit!!! Lots of times we have had an awful time trying to light wet wood. It took 30 seconds to start a fire.
Great area to explore! Marty shared some awesome swimming spots. Due to the water level we were unable to kayak on the river behind the property but Marty was extremely helpful and got us to a great spot on the Connecticut river. Thank you Carol and Marty for sharing your property with us!

The Sugar Shack and Farm Campsite
This place was the perfect place to stay the night before we picked our kids up from sleepaway camp up the road. Way easier than setting up a tent, but with many of the same the bare-bones charms as camping. The view over the meadow was INCREDIBLE, our littlest loved picking blueberries, and there were sweet walking trails where we took our pup. Marty was very sweet and made every effort to make the place comfortable. And it's a quick drive to Woodstock.

Carol and Marty were such awesome hosts. Marty greeted us when we came in and walked us through their amazing property. Carol was super friendly and makes amazing granola. The farm stand is great. Its a quiet and beautiful spot with plenty of amentities for a minimalist spot. Highly reccomend. Also, ask Marty about the incredible local swimming hole nearby.

Private and comfortable stay
I loved this cabin experience. Marty was a very thoughtful host. The cabin and bed was very comfortable. The area felt private, with large open spaces to play frisbee with our dog. The listing says there is no shower, however there is a solar shower which works great. Would definitely come back again.

This is a lovely spot on a lovely farm owned by lovely people. Carol and Marty make sure you have everything you need and then respect your privacy. Loved the solar shower, local swimming hole and fireflies at night, as well as all the bird boxes and great views. The weather can change hourly so I recommend bringing extra blankets for cool nights and being prepared for rain. Highly recommend.

Upon arrival, Marty greeted us with a kind, warm welcome. We were shown the grounds where we would be staying and he walked us around and showed us even more cool little things about the area. He was very knowledgeable about a lot of things in the area which was super cool to hear about. The place was clean and adorable with a handful of options on things to do. There was also an ADORABLE cat that was fun to play with too! We would definitely recommend this place. We wish we stayed longer than one night!

A little slice of heaven!
Carol and Marty's farm is simply wonderful. The campsite feels private and you're nestled amongst the trees, a bird-filled meadow, and one of their two blueberry fields. Marty made us feel immediately welcomed and let our 6.5-year-old join him in feeding their flock of ducks and chickens. it was in the 80s when we visited and Marty pointed us towards the local swim hole that was the perfect antidote to the heat.
We stayed in our camper van but the sugar shack is cute and clean with running water and a composting toilet. You could also easily pitch a tent and be perfectly comfortable. You're less than ten minutes from VINS and Quechee Gorge State Park.
One thing to note is that the campsite faces southwest so you'll get a lot of afternoon sun and might want to pack some sort of sunshade if you're not in the shack. Aside from that, we would highly recommend this site and we're thinking about the next time we can visit.

Awesome place to camp! Sleeping in the sugar shack was fun, rain on the tin roof is a beautiful sound and we stayed dry. The field is great for pups, my dog had a blast fetching ball and got on well with Marty's dogs. Marty was very accommodating, gave us good hiking tips and made sure we had everything we needed. I will be returning for sure!

Perfect Glamping Experience
We loved our stay at Carol and Marty’s place so much. Marty made sure we had the absolute best time, providing custom maps of the area, showing us around the property, helping us get set up in their canoe, and even getting us in the action of launching three hot air balloons right outside our campsite! We will definitely be back next year for blueberry picking!

As soon as I arrived, Marty was very generous with his time and gave me a tour of the space. He shared great information on some of the activities around the area as well as some options for water/hiking excursions just off the site.
The space was very peaceful and secluded from the main property which gave a true camp-style feel, while also being accessible to the neighborhood/town amenities nearby if i so chose!

Bliss!
Absolutely perfect. Marty and Carol are so sweet. Our privacy was totally respected but they were right there if we needed anything at all. The property is gorgeous and spacious. Their farm stand is stocked if you need anything to add to your meals and the view from the blueberry field is amazing. I couldn’t be happier with our stay.
