Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation
- Of Lafayette’s 97 sites, 88 are by reservation only and seven are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Reservations are not required for the RV campground but are highly encouraged, especially in summer.
- Bookings can easily be secured online or by phone, up to 11 months in advance.
When to Go
As the most popular activities in the park are swimming, paddling and fishing in Echo Lake, summer is the busiest season. There’s plenty to do year-round, however. Hiking and biking are excellent during the cooler months of spring and fall, while winter offers the chance to snowshoe on multi-use trails and ski in the park's Cannon Mountain Ski Area.
Know Before You Go
- During the off-season, between mid-October through May, only electricity is available so RVs need to be self-contained.
- Bike rentals are available from Sport Thoma in Lincoln. Shuttle service to Franconia Notch is available.
- Pets are permitted in the designated dog walks near the Tramway and Flume parking lots only, not in the campground.
