You might drag your bumper or hitch on your way down the hill to the spot. It's not hard to drive, it just is a bit steep and only gravel. We are always here to help if need be when you arrive.
Bring bug dope, the bugs can be very hungry right about dusk time til about 30 min after the sun goes down.
If you have kayaks or paddleboards you are welcome to bring them and enjoy the lake. Watercraft (boats/jet ski's) not allowed.
This is a primitive camping spot, meaning no hook ups or WiFi. (no water/sewer/electric/wifi)

Hi there!
We have 5 yurts spread across our 40 acres with each yurt having lots of individual space and privacy. We hand built our yurts from scratch using wood from our land and local lumber, as well as sewing all the vinyl ourselves. The yurts are almost completely locally sourced, everything was handmade by us, and sustainably sourced. We are really excited to share the land we love with folks from near and far.
Your yurt is equipped with a full sized futon, two burner stove kitchen with all cooking appliances and utensils, 2 gallons of fresh drinking water (as well as oil, salt, pep, coffee, and tea all provided), a small dining table with chairs, and an outdoor fire pit.
A short 7 min drive from our property is beautiful Little Sand Bay beach. This free, public use National Park beach is gorgeous with views of Sand and York Islands, great swimming spots, $2.00 hot showers, and kayak launch.
Important things to note about your yurt site! The access to our property is via a long dirt road, this road is accessible for all vehicles but it is about a 2min drive through the woods to get to the yurt sites. Once you arrive on the property your yurt is a 2-4min (depending on which yurt you choose) hike up a hill from the parking area. I recommend backpacking in your items. Wheely coolers and bags will not enjoy the terrain. The Portapotty is located at the parking area as well. That being said, a little bit of walking will be involved in your stay :) If you love walking you are in luck and can explore the trails on the property!

We have a micro organic farm with hundreds of wild apple trees and believe in leaving the land better than we found it. Rob loves permaculture, managing soils, pruning apple trees and feeding his community nutrient dense food. About this space
The "Kick Back Tiny Shack" has a queen size bed, small futon bed (for a child) along with two single camp cots. This tiny house can sleep up to four people (2-3 most comfortably) depending on your needs. There is a mini fridge with mini freezer along with a mini gas range/oven, microwave, coffee pot and toaster. There is a TV with only local channels available. The cabin has a freestanding gas fireplace to keep you cozy and warm and air conditioning for the hot summer months. Come prepared to relax. This is a rustic cabin with all amenities so no need to pack up dishes, bedding, towels, etc. (bring sleeping bag and pillow for anything other than the queen size bed.) The kitchen is fully stocked with your basic cooking and dining essentials. If you don't want to do dishes you are welcome to bring your own paper plates, etc. Coffee, Salt, pepper, dish soap and hand soap, toilet paper and one roll of paper towels provided. There is no running water, but you will be supplied with an electric pump faucet with 10 gallons of water for the kitchen sink for doing dishes, etc. There is also a pump faucet for the outhouse sink. You can heat water on the stove with the pot supplied. In addition, 1 gallon of drinking water will be supplied also. There is a heated outhouse next to the cabin which has a shower stall in which you can shower with an electric pump shower, 120 gallons of water and on demand water heater. Towels are provided and if you need more water, you can contact us, and we can refill at our home which is located next door. Please allow notice in case we are not home at the time. The contact information will be provided with your booking confirmation. You have your own private yard on our 6 acres with a BBQ pit in the summer months, firepit and grill off of the back deck year-round. If you chose to bring a four-wheeler, canoe, boat or snowmobile there is plenty of parking space depending on the quantity. Snowmobiles and side by sides are available for rent 3 miles up the road from the cabin. Come and unwind or explore the many wonders that the Northwoods has to offer! The interior of the cabin is newly refinished. The exterior will be improved as time goes by.

Experience upscale camping–Glamping in the Forested Hills of Lake Superior. Sailor Springs is a small three-site campground located just two miles outside of the picturesque tourist town of Bayfield, WI. 2023 will be our first year of operation and we’re excited to host campers on the property and provide a unique camping experience.
The campground is spread out over 5 acres of forest that you’ll hike into from Bresette Hill Road. After parking at the trailhead, you’ll gather your bags and hike into your glamping site. The trail winds through the woods, leading you first to a valley where the seasonal Clark Creek runs through in the spring. The first two campsites are on the other side of this valley. The trail can be steep in spots and requires a moderate level of fitness and mobility to reach the secluded campsites. The third site is a bit farther into the forest, the little A-frame cabin, Anchor sits on the edge of the spring-fed Brickyard Creek that flows year-round.
We have many plans for the property and depending on when you stay, the campground will be in various stages of development. The campsites, trailhead / parking area, and trails are scheduled to be completed in early spring. We hope to add amenities such as a camp sauna and screened-in gazebo later in the 2024 summer / fall. Located just down from Bayview Beach our property sits nestled between the Great Lake Superior and the Onion river that runs through the property just behind the cabin. You will have a private beach on Lake Superior all to yourself! While neighbors may be around from time to time or on weekends, you will not have to share anything but the sound of waves hitting the shore or birds chirping as the sun sets in the west. You can set up a tent by the cabin, or on the beach side in the grass or sand areas, even the beach if you'd like to catch a sunrise. There is also room for an RV if that's what you'd like to bring.
A fire ring and firewood is provided along with some chairs. Kayaks are available upon request but you are responsible for safe operation and understanding when the weather is not good for their use.
There are no toilets on site but you pass by public toilets on your way in, they are roughly 90 seconds away by car :) Otherwise you are responsible for bringing a camp toilet.
Pets are welcome but must be leashed when others are around and well behaved, please throw their poops in the tall grasses and woods.

THIS PROPERTY IS RUGGED WITH MINIMAL DEVELOPMENT BEYOND HIKING TRAIL AND CAMP AMENITIES.
Camp Palustria is on the edge of a beautiful marsh within 75 feet of a trout stream. It is about 1000ft off of the Superior Hiking Trail. The campsite is primitive which includes fire pit with grill, table, and composting outhouse.
The site is about a 600ft hike from the road where you'll park. The first 400ft of the trail is a swamp with a simple elevated boardwalk through most of it.
95% of the time is it passable with hiking boats or street shoes, but there might be some muddy spots. Dispersed winter camping is also available.

This was a great little spot. A bluff overlooking the lake. The sound of the waves the entire time was beautiful. Being able to walk down to the beach was really cool. Perfect fire pit. Can be windy, but to be expected next to the lake. The bathroom situation was a nice clean out house. Much appreciated the electricity hookup. The road next to the land is a highway. If you dont mind the occasional semi or motorcycles rolling by its pretty quiet. The waves are the loudest. I would recommend this little get away spot. Id come back for sure!

Weekend Trip to 'Tiny House' Farm Stay by Superior
My partner and I had the most wonderful time staying on Carla Jo’s property. Her hospitality was so warm and truly made our stay. The pictures don’t even do the tiny home justice - it is so beautifully constructed, cozy, clean, and perfectly set up to meet your every need. We loved cooking over the fire and strolling the gorgeous property to visit with the animals. The tiny home’s location is also perfect for exploring Bayfield and the surrounding natural beauty that Up North has to offer. Carla Jo also gave us some great recommendations of beautiful spots to check out. If we’re ever back in Bayfield, we will be back at Carla Jo’s place in a heartbeat! Molly & Cory’s property was a wonderful place to spend the night (wish it was longer)! The space is very well thought out and we had everything we needed. Stella and Hank were also wonderful/friendly visitors to have around camp! Would stay again & recommend to anyone searching for a place along the North Shore. 😊

We had an amazing time at the Anchor. The hike in and hike out was so fun! It was our dogs first ever camping experience and she had a blast. Also the porta potties are the cleanest I have ever been in. We will be back to try out the other camps!

2 nights at Bally Creek Cabins - off grid!
Loved staying at Pot Bellys Cabin. Such a peaceful and cozy rustic getaway in the middle of nature. No electricity, just campfires, quiet mornings, and time to truly disconnect and recharge. The perfect spot for hiking, slowing down, and making memories with friends. Can’t wait to come back

1 night at North Shore Hermitage
This was absolutely more than I anticipated it would be. What a friendly family, amazingly friendly dogs, and welcoming atmosphere. Even the kids help with the guests! We felt very welcome, the firewood was endless, and Molly and her husband have thought of everything. You could need. Everything from an umbrella in case it rains to a toothbrush, just in case you forgot. One. Homemade bread was waiting for us and that was completely a surprise and absolutely wonderful! I can't say enough good things, but this family and this property and this rental is a delight. Very private feeling yet welcoming atmosphere. Thank you!

Wonderful mix of cart-in, hike-in and car camping sites. Well groomed hiking trails and scenery. I enjoyed having the Superior Hiking Trail nearby to get a taste of it.
