Nestled between Anderson Valley and Mendocino Coast is the sleepy village of Comptche. Our camp site offers a canvas cabin tent, a full-size bed with memory foam mattress and a covered camp kitchen including a two-burner stove, cooking equipment. water and a table and chairs. Bring your own bedding or we will provide bedding and linens for $25. You can walk around the organic vegetable and herb garden and small orchard and visit the chickens and goats. Hot showers and a hammock are provided. Pets are welcome in the fenced area; campfires are permitted in the spring. Futons are available for additional guests for a nominal fee. Basics from the store are a short walk away, Mon-Sat. 8am to 6 pm (cash only) Closed Sundays.Mendocino village on the Pacific Ocean is 15 miles west where scenic adventures and fine dining are available.. To the east is wine country and Hendy Woods State Park and the town of Boonville. A 45 minute drive north takes you to Montgomery Woods State park and Orr Hot Springs. Enjoying the quiet pace at our gardens is another option.

Peaceful Getaway at Serendipity

Serendipity provided a relaxing setting for our anniversary weekend in Mendocino. Nestled in tranquility, the space's lush greenery and serene ambiance instantly relaxed us. Jennifer was an exceptional host, enhancing our experience with a bit of a tour around the space Saturday morning. Although we didn't make full use of the outdoor kitchen, it added a unique touch to make some cozy meals amidst nature. Our dog Sprout found a playful companion in Pipin, Jennifer's dog, making our stay even more enjoyable as they frolicked together. They got along so well and Sprout misses Pipin already! The garden, along with the friendly goats and chickens, offered a delightful touch to our weekend getaway. For those seeking a peaceful retreat near Mendocino, Serendipity is a gem. Note: The nearby gas station offers basic supplies, but for a wider selection, we recommend stopping at a grocery store en route to fully embrace this tranquil haven.

Magical & Peaceful

We absolutely loved our stay!!! The directions are easy to follow. The property is SO quiet, peaceful and private. You will have a rare instance of traffic noise. This property is magical under the redwoods. We loved walking around under the trees, playing with Pipin, feeding the goats and admiring the chickens. We will be back as it was the perfect rejuvenating night!

Family of 4, with some furry legs

Jennifer, Pipin, and Gizmo were fabulous hosts. This was my partners first weekend off this summer so I planned a little weekend getaway for us and our two dogs. This camp is perfectly named as it was a truly serendipitous adventure. A piece of our hearts will always be in Comptche. Our morning walk and garden adventure with Jennifer was one of my favorite highlights from the trip. Gracious host, and breathtaking property. I highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge in nature. This is a real gem, as are Jennifer and her dogs.

Everything about this stay was exactly what we needed. Jennifer was so great and we loved chatting with her and playing with her pups. We brought along our dog who is typically really shy and she seemed to open up around Pippin and Gizmo so that was another win for this trip! We also brought along sleeping bags just in case the blankets weren't warm enough but we were super toasty with the bedding provided. We can't thank Jennifer enough for making this a lovely stay but we're greatly looking forward to booking again.

Lovely weekend getaway

Jennifers’ serendipity was the perfect stay for a couple. Especially if you have a friendly pup that can run around with her dog pippen. While you enjoy making breakfast in the outdoor kitchen area, relaxing in the hammock, walking in the garden or feeding fruit to the two goats. 10/10 would recommend for a relaxing weekend getaway!
