On the upper Bad River, I have a special location that I'd like to share for others to enjoy. 

I was fortunate to acquire this land 20 years ago and now that I have retired from the United States Air Force, I can dedicate time to create peaceful campsites along the river. 

This land was originally railroad property as the railroad companies bought much land in the late 1800's to have options to place their railroads. 

There is still a railroad track nearby but it has been unused since 2015 and it makes a nice hiking path along the river for many miles to the north into the national forest. 

There are 3 waterfalls nearby and I will have many signs leading to the waterfalls.

There are 4 total campsites on the property, 1 site you can drive to (Eagle Pines), and 3 tent sites that require 1/8 mile hike to 2 sites, and a 1/4 mile hike to the other hike-in site.

Superior Beach Camp

Escape to Superior Beach Camp and immerse yourself in the beauty and privacy of a cleared camping area situated above 500' feet of sand and pebble beach on the world’s greatest lake.  

Agate campsite is very generously sized and is all yours.  Surrounded by a mix of poplar and birch with a few white pine sprinkled in, the main camp area is set back from the lake atop a 70' bluff with peekaboo views of Lake Superior. A short walk down a private path from your campsite gives you access to a beautiful Lake Superior beach to swim, skip rocks, search for agates, or just enjoy the panoramic views of the lake and the town of Duluth on the opposite shore.  

Agate campsite previously featured a "look out point" that has been altered by the natural erosion of the red clay banks that comprise much of Lake Superior's south shore.  While you can still access this area, doing so will require more effort and care, and we no longer allow camping on the point. 

Superior Beach Camp located is 2.5 hours north of the Twin Cities and perfectly positions you to discover all the wonders of the Twin Ports.  Explore this amazing area or stay at camp, set up your chair in the sand and take in the many moods of Mother Superior. Watch the ships come and go to the sparkly backdrop of Duluth’s city lights.  The crackle of a driftwood fire on the beach provides the perfect soundtrack as you watch for shooting stars and the aurora.  

Stock up on supplies and explore the charming industrial town of Superior, WI – 15 minutes from your campsite. Spend a day mountain biking the Duluth Traverse and touring the the wonderful local dining and tap room scenes of Duluth and Superior.  Canal Park, downtown Duluth, is a 25 minute drive. 

If you’d like to venture further, you could meander up the North Shore. Or keep it local and check out Bayfield and the Apostle Islands – only 75 minutes East. Stop through the charming lakeside village of Cornucopia on your way. 
 Or perhaps you’d like to experience world class trout fishing on the Brule River a half hour from Superior Beach Camp.

Maybe Parks are your thing: Amnicon Falls, one of Wisconsin’s most beautiful State Parks, is reachable in 10 minutes by car.  Drive a half hour further to Pattison State Park and take in Wisconsin’s tallest waterfall. On the Minnesota side, the magic of Jay Cooke State Park is 30 minutes west (and puts you on the doorstep of legit white water rafting). 

Whether you're looking for solace and relaxation in a blissful [great] lakeside setting or simply seeking a convenient place to rest your head while exploring the many adventures a stone’s throw from your campsite, there is something for everyone who camps here.

Superior Beach Camp is a clean, quiet, peaceful, primitive setting.  We appreciate that our campers help us keep it this way; remember to pack in any supplies or provisions you need, and leave no trace when you depart so our next guests can enjoy a clean campsite.

Trego Lake Lakefront Property

This was my father's favorite place to be in the summer. He loved watching the hummingbirds early in the season and the leaf turn in the fall. We hope you and your guests will enjoy staying here as much as our family has.

Five acre private lakefront property surrounded by trees. Cement pad for your RV or trailer. 50-amp and full hookups. Bring your own converter if less than 30 amps. Large fire pit&nbsp;(supply your own firewood). Recently refurbished private dock. Four-wheel trails and rental companies nearby. Short drive from the Namekagon River which is great for tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming.

Due to a recent review, I am also adding here that swimming from our property is not ideal. The lake tends to be weedy during warm summers. There are places to swim nearby, so if you are booking with the sole intent of being able to swim, please be aware that this is likely not the best site for you unless you are willing to drive to a nearby beach.

Haugen Road Campground

Come enjoy 4 acres of beautiful Red Pine woods on a dirt road corner. 2 minutes from Copper Falls State Park where you can enjoy kayaking, fishing, hiking the falls, biking, and enjoying a day in the park area with family and friends. Come back to camp and have a beer and cook some food by the fire.

Chippewa River Forest

This little chunk of land is a place that offers peace, solitude and an unplugging from life's hectic pace. 

Our 9 acre wooded lot is a quiet, secluded, woodsy retreat perched above the beautiful Chippewa River. The shallow river is perfect for wading, tubing, paddling & fishing. The undergrowth is a carpet of ferns & native plants. Birders will love this spot. We also encourage bringing your dog friends.  

We have several fire rings and encourage responsible campfire hangouts. *Please do not bring firewood. We provide dry wood & dead fall may be used for campfire, but ABSOLUTELY NO CUTTING from live trees, please.

TENT site:  Tent site is pretty basic-- it fits one large tent (12'x15') pad and has a fire ring, a cooking grate and picnic table.  While it does not have electricity, there is an outlet on the property to charge phones, etc.

BATHROOM: Our well maintained outhouse is a short walk from the tent site, and stays stocked with TP.  It also has a solar light for night-time visits.  

CAMPERS/VANS: We have 30 Amp electric hookup available for small campers! Bring your pop-up or pull-behind.  Intermediate trailer-backing skills are necessary to reach the camper site. 

*We do not allow hunting, shooting or ATV riding on the property. Archery practice is Ok however.

** As we continue our A-Frame cabin build, you will see some construction clutter. We will never be working during your stay, however - you'll have the place to yourself unless otherwise agreed upon. Feel free to view the cabin from the outside but please do not enter the structure.

The famous American Birkebeiner ski trail is less than a mile farther.  Visit attractions in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National forest?  All these are within minutes. At days' end, unwind on the deck and soak in the night stars!

The property is a 120 acres. There is a small lake with fish in it, open fields with 1 water source and deep woods with trails snaking around. Don’t get lost to bad. A hollowed out gravel pit and a couple hundred feet from the ATV snowmobile trail. 

Oakbrook

Welcome to our little retreat in the Northwoods of Wisconsin! We've got 24 acres of mostly Aspen Forest with oaks and maples. There's around 3km trails and a seasonal stream. We're located just 15 minutes from Lake Superior and Lake Nebagamon for fishing, swimming, and boating and 20 minutes from the twin ports of Superior and Duluth. Enjoy the touristy sites of the twin ports and then retreat to a quiet rural rustic campsite for a fire and conversation at the end of the day. Currently no outhouse on the property (hence the low price) but we have 15amp electric on our solar microgrid and we're working to add more everyday!

Wildwood Haven Resort and Camp

Wildwood Haven is a private resort & campground located just south of Copper Falls State Park.  It has tent sites, RV sites with W/E hookups, glamping and cabins, located on the north shore of Long Lake.  Lake access for all guests.  Near over 60 waterfalls.

Gichi-Gami Christmas Tree Farm

We own a 39 acre property on the east side of Ashland, WI.  There are three primitive/walk in (no water available, no facilities, no tables) campsites available and a couple of trails.  More trails to come. Enjoy the night sky as many, many stars are visible.  The property is mostly wooded and can be wet in spots during the spring. You are allowed walk the site off trail at your own risk. 

Please park your vehicle as close to one side of the driveway as possible as not to block the driveway so if needed the tower company has access to the tower. 

Please do not walk in the cleared area near the front of the property to the right of driveway/access road, as this area has been planted with Christmas tree saplings.  

There is a dedicated campfire square in the site.  Please do not burn outside of this area. There is plenty of dead and down firewood to collect in the nearby woods – some may need to cut to size.

There are no garbage cans on site, so please pack out what you pack in.

Campsite 1 – Near County Highway A – just past gate. Large enough for two 4 person tents

Campsite 2 – From gate - .10 mile hike – large enough for a 4 person tent

So that you are aware:  Hipcamp will be adding a "service fee" (15-20%) when you complete the booking to cover their site management and other things.  I don't get any of this service fee and they also take an additional 10% from the price I list to cover the $1 million in insurance for you.

Thousands of county and federal acres for all types of hunters.

Robinson Lake Campground

Brand-new 28-site RV campground featuring full water and sewer hookups, along with 50A, 30A, and 20A power at every site. Most sites are generously sized at 30’ wide by 60’ long. Enjoy the on-site bar and restaurant with stunning views overlooking Robinson Lake — a premier recreational spot known for some of the best fishing in the state.

Deer Lake Private Retreat

Deer Lake is private 50 acre lake surrounded by 140 acres of hardwood forest Hiking trails Canoe and kayaks.  Near Brule River Great kayak trip .  Very private and quiet.  Listen to the loons and Trumpet Swans large garden blue berries near Lake Nebegamon and lake Minnesong.  Great pan fishing and boating.  5 miles to Brule river.  Great trout stream and kayaking.  Biking trails and quiet country roads.
