This little chunk of land is a place that offers peace, solitude and an unplugging from life's hectic pace. Our 9 acre wooded lot is a safe, secluded and woodsy retreat overlooking the beautiful Chippewa River. The shallow river is perfect for wading, tubing, paddling & fishing. The undergrowth is a carpet of ferns & native plants. Birders will love this spot. We also encourage bringing your dog friends. We have several fire rings and encourage responsible campfire hangouts. *Please do not bring firewood. We provide dry wood & dead fall may be used for campfire, but ABSOLUTELY NO CUTTING from live trees, please. TENT site: Tent site is pretty basic-- it fits one large tent (12'x15') pad and has a fire ring, a cooking grate and picnic table. While it does not have electricity, there is an outlet on the property to charge phones, etc. CAMPERS/VANS: We have 30 Amp electric hookup available for small campers! Bring your pop-up, pull-behind, camper van or roof tent. Intermediate trailer-backing skills are necessary to reach the camper site. BATHROOM: Our well maintained outhouse is a short walk from the tent site, and stays stocked with TP. It also has a solar light for night-time visits. *We do not allow hunting, shooting or ATV riding on the property. Archery practice is Ok however. ** As we continue our A-Frame cabin build, you may see some construction clutter. We will never be working during your stay, however - you'll have the place to yourself unless otherwise agreed upon. Feel free to view the cabin from the outside but please do not attempt to enter the cabin.Set your tent at our Walk-In, hilltop, primitive tent site overlooking the Chippewa River. We strongly encourage hikes down the hill to the river. A stone fire ring and log bench make a great rustic hangout spot for a campfire meal or post-swim warm up.  We also encourage you to bring your obedient dogs! We're right off a road with low traffic, but we want pets to stay safe, close to owners! We also have neighboring property and want pets to remain on our lot. Chasing wildlife is of course discouraged as well. The river is a great spot to tire out energetic pups!

It’s was a beautiful camp site! The river is gorgeous with a nice little hike through the forest. T.c. Quickly responded when I reached out to figure out the electricity. Loved the different fire pit options and had plenty of wood. Also the outhouse is one of the nicest I’ve been in camping so far!

Me and the pooch had a great stay on T.C.'s land. It's very private and well tended. The outhouse is 5 stars. I liked that the dog could enjoy herself off-leash and plunk around in the river. Highly recommended!

Awesome spot to camp. I endured some snow, but access to the site and plenty of firewood on hand made the cold enjoyable and manageable. I'll be back in calmer weather with my dog!

It was beautiful! The parking area isn’t far from the site and the cart is super handy! There is a nice trail down to the river so there was no worries on getting lost. Loved having campfires!

We enjoyed our stay on T.C’s land. It was nice & secluded in a beautiful woodsy setting. Bonus - the outhouse on site was GREAT as far as outhouses go. It was clean & stocked with TP, wipes & equipped with a solar light. Would definitely recommend canoes to enjoy the river more!

Beautiful plot of land. Definitely a good spot if you are looking for a more secluded, immersed in nature location. The river is fantastic, not too deep to wade out into, but water shoes are really helpful to have on the slippery rocks. We saw and heard so many birds.

What an amazing spot for a secluded camping adventure! There truly aren’t many hipcamp sites like this — you get the whole place to yourself, with an outhouse, electricity, and river access. My dogs had the best time exploring the forest. I got to nerd out about native plants (this place is a treasure trove). Overall, it was a great camping site and T.C. was very responsive to questions and helpful. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something off the beaten path.

Such a beautiful property. We went in the fall and got to see the fall colors and let the dogs get some outdoor time. The walk down to the river was also very nice. Nicely campsite with room for our two tents, a fire pit and fire grate, picnic table. Wooded property that feels very private.

What a great spot to spend a relaxing weekend! Plenty of acreage on an unbelievably gorgeous river. Camping spots are far from the road, which is also not busy at all. The river was great for wading, and warm enough to swim or float. Will 100% come back here again!

We had fun camping at T.C.'s. Was really easy to find and had wonderful privacy. Just bring the bug spray, lots of mosquitoes. The dogs loved it too.

After seeing the pictures and reading the reviews, figured this place would be great for a single mama with 2 kids. TC was great to communicate with, but I should of backed out when he said not much for hiking. The kids and I love to hike. We get there, walked around to view our surroundings. Tent camp site was too small for our big tent. Uneven ground. Picnic table was a plus but no room for camping chairs, especially with uneven ground. TC did say we could put tent in parking spot but that would of defeated the purpose of being by the fire pit etc. Kids were super excited about the river and in the pics, we saw a sandy spot which sold us because we thought that was right at the property. We followed the yellow signs down to river, trail should be more clear. Got to the fire pit by river but no sand, or spot to be able to walk in or play. A canoe and the river was rushing. Def not a spot where I would feel safe getting 2 kids into a canoe by myself. Outhouse was good but solar lights did not work. Dry wood was appreciated. Overall, not much to do at this camp with 2 kids. My lil man got freaked out at night time cuz he heard "coyote" sounds, and my daughter and I kept hearing an animal rustling around the tent, freaked the kids out and we slept in vehicle. Supposed to be there 2 nights, left next morning. Wasn't what we expected and wasn't right for us.

loved being here despite being rained on for a whole day the little time we spent outside and down by the river was well worth the stay , it’s well kept and looks like there planning on improving even more , 10/10 stay

We had a great time camping here! The forest was pretty and had lots of song birds. It would probably be a great bird watching spot! TC was easy to communicate with.

We loved tent camping on Thomas's land. It was beautiful and quiet - just what we were looking for. The location is secluded yet close enough to town for a quick trip to get anything you may need. Thomas was extremely helpful and responsive. He offered insights and suggestions of things to see and do in the area. We can't wait to come back for another visit. Highly recommend this Hipcamp and host.

We brought a pop up camper and the site was great! We chose not to use electricity because we really didn’t need it but there was a hookup! Water was provided and the outhouse was very nice and well maintained! Our favorite part, by far, was the river! We brought our three dogs and they absolutely loved splashing in the water! It was a very peaceful 9 acres and we’d absolutely come back again for a private weekend of camping! 😊

Had a great time at Thomas’s hipcamp. He was very easy to communicate with when we had questions and gave us recommendations for the area. The spot was great! Nice level spot to put the tent and campfire area next to the tent along with by the river. Our dogs really enjoyed the Hipcamp and loved playing in the water! The outhouse was very clean which was great. Water was provided by Thomas which helped to keep our dogs hydrated. We were sad to have to leave a little early and is started to storm and things started to get muddy really quickly.. but that’s Mother Nature for you! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We LOVED camping here!!!!! I literally had to drag my dog to get in the car when it was time to leave. 😂 it was really secluded and surprisingly no mosquitoes and flies or ticks! We were there for two nights and spent the entire time on site - love that there are on site trails, fire rings both at the campground AND by the river - it was so relaxing. My dog loved zooming through the woods and swimming in the river and I enjoyed being able to just sit by the fire and watch without being eaten alive by mosquitoes ! The host was really responsive and I love that he encourages owner to bring dogs! We will definitely be back and highly encourage especially if your dog needs extra space!

Thomas was terrific to deal with. He was incredibly communicative throughout. Unfortunately, we were not able to use his property due to travel difficulties during thunderstorms. Even though I didn't stay at his property this time I will definitely in the future! Thanks, Thomas!

This site was very “primitive”. More a clearing for a spot to place a tent with a fire pit and not much else. Not a bad thing, by any means but not terribly kid friendly, unless you spend time down at the water. The tent area wasn’t level, though we were in an RTT, so it affected us less than it would have were we on the ground. Plenty of shade from trees, plenty of ground/dead fall wood for fires. Road is far enough away to mitigate noise through the dense woods. Perfect for a layover spot.
