We're located just 15 minutes from Lake Superior and Lake Nebagamon for fishing, swimming, and boating and 20 minutes from the twin ports of Superior and Duluth. Experience upscale camping–Glamping in the Forested Hills of Lake Superior. Sailor Springs is a small three-site campground located just two miles outside of the picturesque tourist town of Bayfield, WI. 2023 will be our first year of operation and we’re excited to host campers on the property and provide a unique camping experience.
The campground is spread out over 5 acres of forest that you’ll hike into from Bresette Hill Road. After parking at the trailhead, you’ll gather your bags and hike into your glamping site. The trail winds through the woods, leading you first to a valley where the seasonal Clark Creek runs through in the spring. The first two campsites are on the other side of this valley. The trail can be steep in spots and requires a moderate level of fitness and mobility to reach the secluded campsites. The third site is a bit farther into the forest, the little A-frame cabin, Anchor sits on the edge of the spring-fed Brickyard Creek that flows year-round.
We have many plans for the property and depending on when you stay, the campground will be in various stages of development. The campsites, trailhead / parking area, and trails are scheduled to be completed in early spring. We hope to add amenities such as a camp sauna and screened-in gazebo later in the 2024 summer / fall. Really enjoyed camping at this spot. While the walk from the car was a little long, it was easy and peaceful. The real gem of this place was the beach access, it was extremely pretty. The pavilion and fire pits were also great and convenient areas for bonfires and cooking.

Little bit of a walk from parking to the Amnicon cabins but a very easy walk at that. There are 2 beds with actual mattresses and 2 double bunks with thinner mattresses. Beds were very comfy. Screens on the windows and curtains to pull shut. Bring toilet paper for the outhouse. Outhouse can get a bit smelly - toilet is a seat over a 5 gallon bucket. Overall, it was a nice cozy stay for the evening.

Perfect for getting off the beaten path. The driveway into the property was easy to find. It was super private and quiet. I really appreciated the path lights out to the outhouse during the dark hours. Sadly we didn’t have a chance to use the outdoor shower.

I really enjoyed this campsite, it has truly breathtaking views of the lake and you can’t beat a beach fire! It was very peaceful, even with the other cabins being occupied. We ended up arriving later than planned so it was dark, and still the maps, signs, and trails were very easy to follow. The lodge with the showers and sauna is a HUGE bonus. The cabin and outhouse were very well maintained and very clean, my entire group commented their enthusiasm on that. Overall a great spot and I can’t wait to plan another trip back!

Absolutely loved the space. Tucked away and got a good taste of what life (almost off grid) was like. The outdoor shower was a fun and the night sky was beautiful as we sat around the fire. There’s a boat and kayak at the end of the trail to take out on the little lake nearby. Close to so much but far enough where it was peaceful.

Little slice of Heaven! The host has a very kind and caring vibe, quick to respond to messages and checked in to make sure we were comfortable or needed anything a couple times, which was perfect! Anytime we talked, in person or messages, it felt calm and comfortable. Easy to talk to! It's a great spot for some rustic glamping, it was great for my family and our dog! We will be checking availability if we're in the area again! It's not a fancy camper, it's not new, it's well loved, taken care of and comfortable! The campsite has a cozy feel, surrounded by nature and easy to find. I loved the homemade rock ring around the fire, it was perfect for our cooking set up we bring with us camping! I prefer camp fire cooking but did use the stove top once and had no issues. A sink just big enough to wash dishes, a fridge big enough for 3+ days of food and snacks, the bathroom is tight (part of a small camper) but the toilet works well, a screened in area was so nice, we had very few bugs sneak into the camper! Space for our things but had things like dishes and utensils supplied. We also used the heater one night with no issues. If you're looking for a spot to call home base and don't mind a small, well loved camper, you'll enjoy it here! It's close to state parks, beaches, river spots, there's so many adventures close by! We didn't have time to check out their trails... They looked nice from camp though and it's on the list if we make another trip over! Trip well spent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
