Learn more about this land:The Farm Stay Glamping Site was originally my very first greenhouse. As our farmstead has grown, and evolved into a full fledged sheep farm and soon to be market garden, there was an idea to make it into something that we could share the beauty of our homestead with others. As spring breaks through, and the campsite opens, up we have new lambs arriving daily. Baby chicks are hurrying every which way, and the flowers start to emerge. It's a beautiful time of year to visit the farm and enjoy the new beginnings. As summer comes around, our new lambs move to a pasture that you can overlook from the campsite. The glamping site is located on the back side of our yard with a fruit orchard separating our main home from the site. Welcome to our cabin getaway, a place for fun, fishing, and relaxation. The cabin is located on Mud Lake in the Chetek Chain of Lakes; it is just outside of Chetek at the prior Oak Grove Resort. With direct lake access and a shared deck overlooking the water, this small cabin is a cozy getaway with breathtaking views and access to water. The Setting: Located at the prior Oak Grove Resort, the cabin is part of a small, friendly lakeside community. You are a 5-minute drive to Chetek for any essentials and around the corner from the boat ramp. You are walking distance from Mel’s Lakeside Tavern which is one of many fun, local bar/restaurants on the lake. The Space: This cabin features 2 bedrooms with full beds and a sleeper sofa, a fully equipped kitchen, small dining room, and living area to relax after a day on the lake. A charcoal grill is also provided. Basic personal amenities, bedding, and toiletries are provided. Step outside to the front deck or shared deck where you can sip your morning coffee or watch the sunset on the water. Learn more about this land:The Farm Stay Glamping Site was originally my very first greenhouse. As our farmstead has grown, and evolved into a full fledged sheep farm and soon to be market garden, there was an idea to make it into something that we could share the beauty of our homestead with others. As spring breaks through, and the campsite opens, up we have new lambs arriving daily. Baby chicks are hurrying every which way, and the flowers start to emerge. It's a beautiful time of year to visit the farm and enjoy the new beginnings. As summer comes around, our new lambs move to a pasture that you can overlook from the campsite. The glamping site is located on the back side of our yard with a fruit orchard separating our main home from the site. The site has a queen bed, and also has room for an additional tent to be placed in the yard (which is relatively flat), or on the 12'x18' wooden deck. We are 15 minutes from Ashland & 30 minutes from Bayfield with numerous entertainment and dining options. 10 - 15 minutes from numerous beaches along Lake Superior's shore.

Where do I even start? Maybe at the fact that we absolutely cannot wait to return?! We had so much fun at “the dome”. The autumn trees worked out perfectly for us – the trees were in full color and the weather mostly cooperated while we were there. The second night we were able to see the stars and MY GOODNESS, it was absolutely spectacular. It was expected to be pretty chilly during the night, so I brought a 10x20ft tarp to lay on the ground and help insulate against it and I think that helped significantly during our second night when the temp was about 36*. We cooked over the fire mostly for meals, but also drove the few minutes to A&W for root beer floats daily. The compostable toilet is located behind a small partition to provide a bit of privacy, but there is also a gas station within three minutes of the site so I just drove to use that one mostly. The solar powered fan circulated the air a bit, but there’s only so much you can move the air around in a dome shaped space… it was 70* on our second day and it got warm inside of the dome pretty quickly. We were able to buy firewood at the Adventure Church lot (five minutes away) and paid $5/bundle in cash at a self-serve stand. This stand is covered, so it had dry wood even after it rained the first night. We loved how secluded it felt without also feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere. Overall, as the first camp like experience for us, it was a roaring success! Highly highly recommend, 10/10.

Absolutely loved the space. Tucked away and got a good taste of what life (almost off grid) was like. The outdoor shower was a fun and the night sky was beautiful as we sat around the fire. There’s a boat and kayak at the end of the trail to take out on the little lake nearby. Close to so much but far enough where it was peaceful.

First time at the dome, it was a lovely time! Loved how private it was and Linda was very helpful with instructions and answering my questions! Having a fan in there was nice due to the August humidity, tho it didn’t last very long. It did rain heavily once and there was some leaking from the roof, but we caught the drips in some containers, but nothing that ruined the experience for us! Thank you Linda for hosting us, we’d love to come back!

We really enjoyed the Northern Lights Campground. It is close enough to everything you need and somehow super remote! We had so much fun on the lake with the canoe & kayak. We saw a whole flock of swans. Plus, the view of the sky was just what we were looking for! Eric was very helpful communication wise and answered all questions timely. We would definitely stay again in future years.
