A hidden gem nestled between the comforts of lake living and a backdoor to the expansive Nicolet National Forest.
Recreational opportunities are year-round, including recreational vehicle and fishing opportunities on and around the 417 acre lake flowage.
The private +2 acre property has panoramic views of the secluded headwaters opening into the main
flowage.
Set back off the
main lake, wildlife viewing, especially birding, is the best I have experienced.
Neotropical migratory bird species are abundant in the Spring
as well as a resident breeding pair of Trumpeter Swans, many ducks(!), Bald Eagles, Loons, Sand-Hill cranes; many woodpecker spp. including Pileated;
Screech, Barred and Great horned owls.
Some of the more entertaining wildlife include deer, otter, beaver, muskrats, red squirrels and the occasional wandering black bear (no problem bears).
In the Spring, the esker's neighboring wetlands come alive with many frog and turtle species.
For me, the allure of the wild still dominates here.
The esker provides an amazing vantage point with nearly 270 degree panoramic views of the flowage.
From the Gazebo, take one of two paths to the overlook
before descending down to the lakefront.
All pontoon and fishing boats can be accommodated here.

The property is located towards the end of a Forest Service road (Meadowlark Lane)
with one year-round resident at the end. There's a large turn-around for trailers and larger vehicles. Neighbors are well separated, located over the ridgeline and out of earshot. The property has a relatively wide, flat 100 foot driveway to the cabin from the road. Easy access to the cabin from the driveway. The cabin is surrounded by mature maple/birch/balsam/hemlock forest and several wetland/tamarack bogs (very diverse terrain bordering the lake). At the base of the cabin there's a small pier for
direct
kayak and canoe access.
Larger boats can easily dock on the lake-end of the property, a short walk from the cabin.
From the natural driveway a concrete paver staircase leads up to the main campsite (see pics).
The campsite includes
a 3 season 14 foot enclosed gazebo with electricity.
Essentially, the land is a 2 acre esker (kettle moraine feature) that serpentines through the woods to Reservoir "Pond" lake system. Excellent views
of the
lake!
The Flowage has headwaters from McCauslin brook and connects 3 lakes totaling 417 acres.
Maximum depth 27 feet.
Fishing and Pontoon boat
docking on shoreline. The closest boat launch is on Horn Lake which is passed on the way to the cabin and approximately a half mile away as the crow flies. Plenty of areas
for tenting/ wall tents, 2 picnic tables (one near the cabin and the other by the gazebo), and a separate outhouse with toiletries at the top of the hill.

You'll be camping on our Stanley lake sugarbush property. Lakefront sites have power and water - are located in a grassy clearing on the shores of Stanley Lake. ABSOLUTELY NO CHARGING OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES ON PROPERTY!!
Primitive sites are amongst the maple trees of our sugarbush operation, within walking distance of the lake. These sites do not yet have water or electricity, but water is available from spigots at the lake clearing.
Stanley lake is just shy of 400 acres, known for walleye and bass. It is an all sports lake with no limited wake hours. Feel free to roam our woods - you will notice the blue maple lines come to an end at our east and west property lines, as well as a no trespassing sign on the lake clearing to the west line. Deer here are plentiful, and you can often get them to eat from your hand, provided you have apples. Iron county has a tremendous ORV/snowmobile trail system. You can drive your machine right from our property to the trails. There are two golf courses in the area, as well as a vast bicycle trail system. Ski Brule ski hills and sporting clay operation are a few miles from the property. Countless acres of public land for recreation!

We are located just a few miles east of the Nicolet National Forest. We have great food and always a friendly atmosphere. So come on up and join us for a relaxing week or just a weekend.Camp in our nicely furnished tent cabins, Site #1 ( Bri's Hideaway) is furnished with a queen bed, love seat and refrigerator. Site #2 ( Adam's Getaway ) is furnished with a full bed, 1 cot style bunk beds and a refrigerator. We recommend bringing sleeping bags for both sites during the cool weather camping, we furnish some blankets but may not be adequate for the chilly nights in the later season. We are right on the ATV trails, with many lakes, rivers and trout streams close by. There is whitewater rafting nearby for the trill seekers. Or if you enjoy hiking, the Nichole National Forest is minutes away. You can relax on the front deck of your tent cabin or sit by the campfire. We are a small country bar & grill. We have a great Friday night fish fry, or try our famous chicken dinner, or one of our homemade pizzas, we have wraps, sandwiches and more. We are located 1 hour north of Green Bay, WI. The tent cabins will be open May 1st through October 31st with a shower room available. There is limited heating available in the units. Please plan accordingly. Had a nice relaxing time. It was super quiet, just nature to be heard. It was quite hot when we were there, but upon opening the cabin I saw there was A/C. Very nice to be able to cool off. Even with the 90+ heat we still were able to get some fishing and mushrooming in and had a good time.

This was our first experience using Hipcamp and it couldn’t have been better. Diane’s campsite offers a sense of privacy and seclusion out in beautiful northern Wisconsin. This is a great place to bring a dog as there is lots to explore and do. Be sure to pack your mosquito repellant if visiting in the warm months. Cheers!

The land was absolutely beautiful! I’d pay to stay out there in a tent. Gorgeous. The “shack” was super cozy. Host made sure that I knew it had rained and the road would be soft, so I rented a 4x4 Jeep, and it was perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay in Cabin Amanita! The camp staff were incredibly welcoming and full of recommendations. They remembered who we were the next day, and even shared photos that we knew we'd love.
The cabin itself was really charming. Even though it's attached to a larger campground, it felt very secluded, which is exactly what our fearful dog needed. He and our other pup were in heaven, having a large area around the cabin to sniff around.
Hanging out with a campfire after a day of hiking was heaven. We definitely want to come back some day- we didn't even get to visit a fraction of what there was in the area!
One thing to note is that toilets, water access, etc are a short walk from the cabin. Toilets are maybe a one minute walk, water access maybe three minutes. The camp store is just a minute walk away, and has both essentials and fun things (like ice cream).

This spot is a truly perfect off-grid getaway. I couldn't have asked for a more prepared or inviting experience.
The host went above and beyond by having the wood stove prepped and ready for immediate use, along with some initial firewood provided. Since the temperature dropped into the 30s, I did burn through two bundles of wood over the course of the night to stay warm (which worked perfectly, with the fire only needing restarting once!).
The cabin itself is a cozy sanctuary, and it was exactly the recharge I needed. I am already wanting my next trip back!
Future visitors: If you're staying during cold weather, be prepared for at least two bundles of wood to last the night. Also, I highly recommend bringing a good camping lantern with you, a flashlight felt a little weak for lighting the whole space.

This place was perfect - a cozy Midwest romantic getaway, as my boyfriend called it. We stayed in the orange tiny house, which had two beds, and an indoor fireplace which kept us warm at night. Diane provided us with plenty firewood and had other cooking utensils if needed. The stars were beautiful at night as well which was an added plus. We loved how private and cozy the stay was. We plan to come back again next month! Thank you Diane!

The shed is a great little spot! Clean and comfortable. Was a bit muddy to get there, but not a big deal if you have all wheel drive. It is in the woods, a little mud is expected after rain. Nice to walk with my dog off-leash on the trails they use for the dog sledding. You can hear the huskies sometimes, but they were silent thru out the entire night. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and be back myself sometime!

We had the most magical fall getaway in the forests of Upper Wisconsin, it was absolute paradise! 🍂 We stayed in the adorable cabin, which was cozy perfection with super comfy beds and lovely bedding. The stove was such a treat. We accidentally got it way too hot and had to air it out, but it made the cabin feel extra warm and romantic.
Our pup Leslie loved being off-leash and exploring the property, and the short, beautiful walking trails they carved out were perfect for peaceful strolls. We also loved that there’s so much great hiking nearby if you want to drive out and explore. Even with a rainy weekend, it was perfect to snuggle up in the cabin and enjoy the sounds of birds, ducks, coyotes, and the friendly huskies on site.
The nearby town of Eagle River is so charming, we could almost plan another trip just to hang out there! The host was perfect: super responsive but gave us total privacy to enjoy our solitude. Highly recommend for anyone craving cozy comfort, fall colors, and complete relaxation!

This place is perfect! Private, cozy, with beautiful views and the sounds of nature. It was fun hearing the huskies off in the distance, owls at night, and seeing a few turkey and deer during the day. Our dogs were just as happy to have time away from “the city”. The wood furnace kept us toasty in the cooler evenings and the beds were snuggly with plenty of blankets and pillows. 10/10 will be returning.

Not a “lot to do” at the campground - but so much to do on area and just chillin’ by the river is plenty fine

Seven Mile Lake Campground has been closed for many years. It's overgrown and you're not allowed to stay there. The boat landing is still open and the trails have been maintained by many people. Still a beautiful place to spend time.

We camped at Bear Lake in October, when the leaves were just perfect. The lake was absolutely beautiful and quiet as no motorized boats are allowed. Campgrounds by the water, tons of woods to explore. We will definitely be going back!
