It has all the things you want after a day(s) out in the wilderness, with amenities like a hot shower, fully stocked kitchen, linens and more. Our property reflects our love of the land and space. We are always making improvements, such as the timber framed chicken coop. We now have a ping pong table for our guests, and still offer farm fresh eggs. There are three bedroom areas upstairs with a full modern bath. One room Full bed, One room Queen bed, and the third is an open area with a privacy curtain and sitting area as well as a King bed. The living area has light seating area with a twin pull out loveseat, and two recliners. We have kayaks available for use. A small dock. There is some erosion on the bank we are currently working on but no beach, its in the process. Pets are allowed but please do not allow off leash or out of small fenced in area. All pet owners must clean up after your pets outside and if you leave for the day you are responsible for them. I recommend kennel trained as they act completely different and strange place. Ours are the same. Owner is around but can not watch pets as we work full time. I can check for a local teen to provide day care if requested. Breakfast foods will be supplied but there will no cooking provided. If you have special requests for breakfast foods please forward that information one week prior to arrival. Great view of Lake Kawbawgam from the patio, there is NO LAKE ACCESS from this property. 40 minute drive to Pictured Rocks. Fire pit in the backyard and a fireplace in the living room available for use. Lower level has a bar with TV and game room with a ping pong table and dart board. Perfect space for families and great for snowmobilers. The kitchen, both living rooms, 3 bedrooms, and a full bathroom are all on the main level. The upstairs loft bedroom has 1 king bed, a moveable wall divider for some privacy, a full bathroom, and a small sitting area. The full bathroom has a large soaking tub, rain head shower, and bidet. Our home was recently gutted down to the studs and completely remodeled. We opened up the living room/kitchen area and added a bathroom and brought the washer and dryer up to the main level. There’s a brand new 65” Roku TV in the living room and we have fiber optic wireless internet. We also added a tankless hot water heater so everybody gets a hot shower! We supply a crock pot, blender, drip coffee maker, and all the necessities to cook a meal at home. You are only about 5 miles from downtown Munising, where there are Pictured Rocks Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Sand Point Beach, waterfalls, etc. In Munising, there is a grocery store (Pat’s Foods), Family Dollar, a couple of hardware stores, and numerous restaurants. There is room to bring a boat if you have one and there is public access to Lake Superior within 5 miles of home. The primary guest will need to upload a picture of a government-issued ID and list names and ages of all other guests in their group. **There are 2 exterior audio/video recording devices on the property. This was our second stay at the Orchard House, and it was every bit as magical as the first! Jill continues to be the perfect host — warm, attentive, and full of thoughtful touches (including another batch of her amazing homemade cookies!). The house itself is absolutely enchanting, from its cozy, well-appointed rooms to the peaceful property that feels like a true escape from the world. We loved being so close to the Hogback trailhead — it makes for the perfect day hike before coming back to unwind in such a serene setting. We can’t wait to return and try out the new sauna on our next visit! If you’re considering a stay at the Orchard House, don’t hesitate — it’s the kind of place that fills your soul and leaves you with memories you’ll want to relive again and again.

Weekend Trip to Bear Tree Homestead

From the moment we arrived at the Pond Cabin, everything we experienced exceeded our expectations. The cabin itself was cute, cozy, and very clean. It had a lot more kitchen and camping supplies than we expected. Loved the layout. It comfortably slept three adults and two dogs. The woods surrounding it and the pond are very beautiful and serene. No road sounds or artificial light, just peaceful nature and the quaint farmhouse. We were welcomed by our gracious hosts and their dogs who made us feel very at home, were so friendly, and made great recommendations for hikes and experiences. The hike to Hogback mountain is a must. The view from the top and fall colors were just breathtaking and you can walk there right from the cabin! We spent most of a day hiking the NCT and were just blown away by the trails and views. None of us knew how great the traditional Finnish sauna and cold plunge (into the crystal clear spring fed pond?!?) would relax and rejuvenate us. Wow! Also worth mentioning it’s an easy, very pretty drive to Pictured Rocks. You can do it all. All I can say is we will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for what must be the ultimate UP experience.

Site 1 doesn’t have many photos, but it’s actually way better than we thought. it’s really spacious and the levitating tent was really nice. We also got half a dozen fresh farm eggs which was a nice touch to the experience. I’ll definitely come back to this spot whenever I’m in the UP.

The cabin was perfect, the land was beautiful, beds are quite comfy, oil lamps and fire are ever so cozy and the cookies so tasty. Hogback mountain trail is very close by and well worth the venture if you can manage a bit of a scramble at lest once. One evening here was not sufficient, we definitely plan to return. Well worth checking out if taking a trip to the area or just looking to go somewhere beautiful and peaceful to retreat from the world for a while.

RV was clean and very well stocked on the inside. Interior looked brand new, and the campsite overlooked a pretty meadow surrounded by trees. Cute S'Mores bucket inside with everything you'd need. Convenient location, was able to do an evening hike to Mosquito Beach from this location. Why stay in a campground and spend thousands of dollars on your own RV when you can just stay here! Highly recommend Captain Ron's for fresh, hand-processed whitefish. Thanks Danielle!

2 nights at Bear Tree Homestead

Pond cabin is clean, comfortable on the inside, slept exceptionally well, in the warm and cozy loft, using wood stove that kept me warm all night using very little wood. For those who like disconnecting in primitive spaces where the sounds of birds and wind rustling through the trees, an occasional distant rooster's crow, then this is the place you'll not want to leave. So close to North Country trail and easy hike to Hogback Mtn summit with amazing views. Jill the hostess and her family were very friendly as were her 3 dogs. Only heard them bark for a short time in the distance 1st night, while they protected the homestead chickens from wildlife. Jill showed me the authentic Mongolian Yurt they just installed, located on the trail towards the North Country Trail and Hogback mtn. Beautiful! I thought it was easy to find using Jill's directions and my satellite map/location phone. I would definitely stay here again. Hiked Dead Man's River trail nearby many waterfalls, enjoyed Marquette MI Pasties Lawry's and Iron Town Pasty the best, Presque Isle Black Rocks at sunset, and Ore Dock & Black Rock Breweries. Even say an ore freighter being loaded at Marquette's active Ore Dock!

Cory was great! Welcoming and accommodating. Tent site was better than the pictures and gave a great deal peace and quiet only nature can offer. Also great location as it’s right near a gas station and breakfast spot! Cory was also very understanding for a slight, self-imposed hiccup which was managed in only a couple messages back and forth. Would definitely stay here again if I end up in the same area again.

This place/our cabin was perfect! We were impressed with how clean it was and the space was perfect for two adult couples, a baby, and our young daughter on the pull-out couch. They even had a pack and play for us when we arrived! The hosts were friendly and accommodating and there for anything we needed but also gave a lot of space and privacy. The campground is great too; the lakefront was beautiful and lots of different areas to sit and relax and enjoy. We would definitely come back!

We managed to fit 2 adults and 2 kids (age 4 and 6) up in the tent and stayed warm enough in that 44 degree weather! Kids did great and enjoyed the experience. Now they expect to hang our tent here at home. We are not large people and our 2 kids are small and young so it worked fine for us within the 500 lb weight limit. We had a great vacation in MI, thank you for being a part of it. An adventure for sure!

Weekend Trip to Elli's Lazy Days Resort & Campground

I had a wonderful time camping at the "glamping" yurt. It was outfitted with everything anyone would need for an enjoyable experience. Chairs, camping bed, blankets, dishes, cooking necessities, paper towel and garbage bag/can all provided. Nice area outside the yurt to sit and build a fire in the fire pit. Outhouse right next to the yurt is clean and convenient, but there is also a very clean running water toilet and shower just down the way. Check in and check out were very easy. I arrived later than I expected and they graciously accommodated me for my arrival and left little lights on in the yurt so I would be able to find my way. The lake is very beautiful and the area is very calm. Good sights to see nearby and a wonderful area to explore. Very knowledgeable and helpful host. I highly recommend you camp here if you find yourself in the area. *There are spots to park an RV, but other than they are reasonably spaced, I can't speak to that.
