Llama Meadows Farm is a sixteen acre organic fruit and vegetable farm. Located in Beautiful Benzie Country, in Northwestern Lower Michigan. We are one mile south of Crystal Lake and six miles east of Lake Michigan. Our-house is super insulated and passive solar. We had llamas for their wool and manure.
We retired from raising llamas, we had 12 they got old and moved on. We have
around 50 fruit trees. The fruit we grow includes apples, pears, figs and paw paws. We also grow grapes, and kiwis, we also put in filberts, walnuts and pecans. We have a beautiful labyrinth peace garden.

We have another tiny house on the property. Each tiny house has its own privacy. They are located approx. 40 yards apart, separated by a piece of forest.
You will have the whole tiny house to yourselves. Enjoy the hammock, relax by a bonfire, enjoy the stars. We live on the property, not far away so are available if you have any questions, etc. We have a two night minimum stay. There is a book in the house full of info on our favorites...favorite place for breakfast, favorite beach, mt. bike, etc.
Other things to note:
We have a french press for making coffee and provide fair-trade coffee. I haven't been able to update the caption on our "outdoor shower-like structure"-this is a rinse station-perfect for cooling down on a hot day! We have an indoor shower and flush toilet. We are pet-friendly and have hosted many groups with dogs. There is a $20/per pet/per night fee, which will not be included in your total. Please leave this money before departure. We require pet owners to follow our pet policy. Inquire for a copy of it. We built our family home in the woods behind the tiny house. When leafed out, the trees protect the view but just want to make sure you are aware of this before you arrive. Before the leaves are out, you will see the house behind the tiny house.
We recently had to have some excavation work done so the area around the tiny house is in need of landscaping and time to re-grow vegetation. I will be working on this as soon as I can but just wanted to make sure you were aware before your arrival.

Hosting May 22 - mid/Oct My husband Dan and I purchased this property 5 years ago and have totally restored the land, home and barn from its prior condition. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana.
The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk.
Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor.
Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries.
There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes.
A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive.
We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay.
We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

Peaceful setting on 40 wooded acres that is located at the end of two county roads with virtually no traffic. The cabin has propane lighting, propane refrigerator, an antique stove with burner tops, and a free-standing propane gas stove for crisp evenings. There is a small kitchen area with a sleeping loft above and a sitting/family area at the far end of the cabin. The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, coffee pot, dishes, and misc. utensils. *Please bring your own linens, pillows, and water.
On the backside of the cabin, you'll find a peaceful sitting area with a firepit. When nature calls, there is a well-built outhouse that is available. There is also a large outdoor shower with heated water and a dressing area. There are trails that meander through the property for those who enjoy walking, biking, snowmobiling, or four wheeling. You won't find a more peaceful, tranquil property to relax in and enjoy the wildlife. Only 1.3 miles into Manton with several bars and restaurants. Within 3 miles you are able to gain access to State property, the Manistee River, and Chase Creek.
From the trails in this area you can go as far as Houghton Lake and Fife Lake. Great area for hunting, fishing, four wheeling, dirt bikes, and hiking. This is a great getaway you don't want to miss out on!

This cozy cabin in the woods was exactly the peaceful getaway we needed. The starry nights, crackling campfires, and quiet walks through the forest with our dog made the stay unforgettable. The cabin itself was warm, welcoming, and full of thoughtful touches, especially the welcoming basket waiting for us. The propane gas fireplace kept us perfectly comfortable on the cold nights, and the entire space felt like a true retreat.
We loved having time to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature together. This stay was a much-needed mental health reset, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome!!! The cabin is so cozy and it is clear that a lot of thought has been put into this stay (extra lights, lighters, charcoal for the grill, multiple chairs, condiments, lots of wood etc.). My dog and I were nice and toasty when it got down below freezing. The outhouse was spotless. The fire pit and yard were so charming at night. Lots of trails to walk. Beautiful secluded woods. Cabin was very clean with a fresh cut wood smell. Very nice to have the carport to cook under since it rained pretty much the entire trip. Pull up couch was perfect to lounge on with a book in the evenings. Memory foam topper on the air mattress made it pretty comfortable. Kerosene heater took the chill out of the air on the 40 degree nights. Plenty of space for the two of us and our Aussie. Lots of little unexpected extras. Dog toys, bowls, and bed, binoculars, candles, lantern, and strategic solar lights outside.

Weekend Trip to HillCrest
Hillcrest (Lake View) has a beautiful view. Chose this for a fall getaway. Great location central to Traverse City (asylum tour) and Boyne Mountain (Skybridge). Hosts are friendly and Avion RV was a cool experience, clean and well-stocked with everything you need. Hope to visit again in the summer to experience Torch Lake, which is very close to this.

Weekend Trip to Arcala Bunkhouse
Carole and Art are two of the sweetest, most accommodating hosts you'll ever hope to meet! The amount of care and effort they put into making you feel comfortable is second to none. Like I told them, they thought of everything! Even the doggos and kiddos are made to feel welcome. There were even games for children of all ages to play - outdoors and in. For me, it was a solo trip. Carole and Art's property is so quiet and relaxing and was just what the Mental Health Professional ordered! I highly recommend the Arcala Bunkhouse for individuals, couples, groups, and families alike. The property has hills all around and is adjacent to a tree farm. Everything is so beautiful! I took so many pictures of the landscape and wildlife. I shared the atypical ones in order to not repeat the pictures that were already posted.

Weekend Trip to Arcala Bunkhouse
Carole and Art met with us and showed us exactly where we were going, it is definitely not on any main roads. It was beautiful and private. The hosts were very nice and helpful. The outdoor shower was super cool to use. The trails are well maintained. We got to see plenty of deer and even a bobcat! We will definitely be returning!

Weekend Trip to The Vine Wilderness Glamping
We booked this site last minute and were so thankful it was instantly approved. The hosts were kind and quick to help when Google Maps sent us a bit off track. Once we arrived, the space felt like a hidden little retreat tucked into the woods.
It’s easy to imagine a young family making memories here… kids playing badminton, chasing fireflies, roasting marshmallows, and drifting off to the sound of crickets and frogs.
The setup includes a portapotty with a foot-flush and small sink, an outdoor shower, a futon, a queen air bed, and two cots. There’s a picnic table with umbrella, a coffee press and kettle, simple dishes and cups, a small grill, games, coloring books, and polyester linens. Everything was tidy and looked newly stocked for the season.
The drive in is a narrow, bumpy two-track… best for a smaller 4x4. Once you’re settled, it’s peaceful and quiet, with a wide open sky full of stars.
The hosts clearly care about creating a welcoming, family-friendly place to unwind. The mattress wasn’t the comfiest and the tiki torches were empty, but those are small details in an otherwise thoughtful stay.
We enjoyed our night here and can see it being perfect for a family weekend… laughter by the fire, s’mores in hand, surrounded by the sounds of nature. ♥️🌲🖖🏻

Bill & Dan’s place is lovely. While you are obviously staying in a RV, as soon as you walk out the door or look out the window there are beautiful expansive grounds that they have created. Flowers abound, lots of green grass and trees and places to sit in the yard and on the deck. A beautiful hot tub is made available to guests and it was a lovely way to unwind from the day of touring all that the area has to often.. Bill & Dan are great hosts and very accommodating to anything you might need. They pay so much attention to detail that it is quite impressive!
If you are on the tall side, it may be challenging to be in a bed that is shorter than normal size, as the RV designed beds are.
We both enjoyed our stay there and really appreciated how much there is to do in the area. It is centrally located between Traverse City and some of the things to do a little bit east and north, so it’s a great location.
It’s very quiet and peaceful on their property, and it is nice to be away from some of the hustle and bustle of Traverse City.
If you happen to have an EV, there’s an EV charging station 10 minutes away that works really well.
Definitely recommend Bill & Dan‘s place!

My wife and I had to change our plans last second for our vacation, and what we thought was just a nice little cabin in the woods ended up being a true up-north getaway that we will definitely be returning to! Carole and Al were wonderful hosts, and their property was beautiful. The fireplace and back patio were inviting, the grounds well maintained and easily hike-able, the inside of the cabin very charming, and overall the experience was far better than I could have expected.

This was an incredible glamping experience! We came up to Sleeping Bear dunes for our anniversary trip and stayed here for a night. The bell tent is absolutely adorable and had everything we needed, secluded in the forest. Highly recommend this magical spot!

Breathtaking! Couldn't do the Lake Michigan descent due to 40+mph winds but thoroughly enjoyed the scenic drive through the park. Hiked a 3.5-mile dune trail down to the lake and had to pause to take it all in. Will be back!

We love Sleeping Bear Dunes and come here often. The views of Lake Michigan from here are breathtaking. Add this to your bucket list to visit in person; pictures don't do this area justice! We also appreciate all of the programs and education about this area and its history from National Park Rangers.

We drove the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, which is within the boundaries of the Lakeshore. There were a few scenic overlooks, but the majority of the 7.4 mile drive was in the woods. We had a national parks pass, so we didn't have to pay the $25 entrance fee. I would have been disappointed if I'd paid the fee just for that drive. It was raining the day we went so we stopped at the Dunes Climb but didn't go up it.
