Site 1, The Falls Site, is located on a spring fed stream.
The hike from parking to tent site is 1/4 mile on a well-marked hilly path.
Campers can park at the main property on County Road HD or on the Garden Road, and will need to pack supplies to their site.
Site 2, The Garden Site, is 50 feet from the stream and campers can drive to and park their vehicles at the site.
Site 3, Mountain View Cabin, is a century old hunting cabin with 2 cots on the main floor and 2 singles in the loft. Site 3 includes an outhouse and sauna.
All sites have a picnic table, firepit and outhouse.
Campers are responsible for removal of all other waste.
The 2-foot wide stream provides water for washing, but is not considered potable, and use of filters or boiling water is recommended.
These isolated sites are beautiful and rustic and nestled in the midst of the Noquemanon Trail Network (cross country skiing and mountain biking) and North Country Trails and are approximately 2 miles from Lake Superior, Harlow Lake and Dead River.
4 kayaks/paddles/life vests and a 12 foot boat are available for camper use. First come, first serve. You transport.

Welcome to the Hemlock Ridge Homestead! This custom log home built in the early 2000's was a dream of mine since I was 8 years old. Our family lives here year round and absolutely love it. These sites are on a seasonal road so travel in and out can be impeded at times due to weather or external forces, such as tree falls, wash outs, etc. This is a self sufficient homestead in the making. Our garden has progressed greatly, and our fruit tree orchards are starting to produce. The free range chickens are fun and quirky, offering farm fresh eggs. We just opened our second site, the Prairieview Chalet 2024 summer. Both sites offer great amenities. The Acorn Retreat cabin includes a hot tub, gas weber grill and other amenities. The boujee outhouse is shared by both sites and is cleaned regularly.
The new Prairieview Chalet is an exceptional adventurers haven! It has all the things you want after a day(s) out in the wilderness, with amenities like a hot shower, fully stocked kitchen, linens and more.
Our property reflects our love of the land and space. We are always making improvements, such as the timber framed chicken coop. We now have a ping pong table for our guests, and still offer farm fresh eggs.

Bear Tree Homestead is nestled among the cliffs and ravines which drains the south face of Hogback Mountain located in Marquette Township Michigan.
Hogback Mountain is one of the larger rock formations in the Huron Range, a surprisingly rugged, and diverse region of low mountains carved by glaciers.
Each cabin is hand-built of log and stone using traditional Scandinavian building tools and techniques. The cabins have access to the pond, use of the canoe, a private fire pit, picnic table, charcoal grill and privy. We are located 8 miles from downtown Marquette in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where there are many great restaurants, shops, and brewpubs.

Your host property is 13 acres between the Yellow Dog River, and Bear Lake, with frontage on both. The Yellow Dog River is a legendary trout stream, and many artists have found that the river satisfies their need for the wild. There are two cabin sites available, One overlooking Bear Lake with sunset views, and the other a cabin that was moved to the property in 1999 to preserve it.
Both sites share amenities such as the outhouse, communal fire pit and water, but the cabins are not in close proximity so everyone has their privacy. They are both rustic cabins having no running water, or electricity. A futon with mattress cover is provided in each cabin along with a table and chairs. We are 20 miles (app) north of Marquette, which is my home town. It is a destination for bikers, skiiers, and outdoor rec folk! There are so many things to see and do in Marquette, so make sure to plan enough time to check out the town! Also, just six miles to our north is historic Big Bay. A lumber town back in the day, it is full of history. Check out the Thunder Bay Inn, where parts of Anatomy of a Murder, starring Jimmy Stewart and Lee Remick were filmed. Don't miss going to the Lumberjack to see where the actual murder took place, either! You will find good eats and perhaps even some live music at either establishment. You'll also find everything you need in the way of groceries, and gas at Drury's General Store, where there's also a laundromat. Burns landing just north of the marina has the historic Burns family home renovated in a park setting, and a public beach access to mighty Lake Superior. This park has picnic tables and grills, and even a handicap accessible outhouse and trail to the lake.
Yellow Dog falls is a short drive on Co. Road 510, and on the way be sure to climb Thomas Rock overlook. There are new bike trails if you're into that as well! Stay awhile. You'll be glad you did!

We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.”
In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.
Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work!

Bells Acres is a large property with abundant history! Originally homesteaded by a Finnish family in the 1800s, we are only the 4th family to own this property. Doc Bell operated his veterinarian practice from this farm starting in 1915, giving his name to the creek running through the property and the lake it feeds. A family from Finland purchased the property from the Bell family in the 1960s and lived on the homestead until 2020 when we purchased it. You have full exclusive access to the home and yard. Unfortunately, there is no lake access with the home, but it does have a great view of the lake.

Our home is less than a mile from the casino, Foggy’s Steakhouse, and a gas station. You are only about 5 miles from downtown Munising, where there are Pictured Rocks Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Sand Point Beach, waterfalls, etc. In Munising, there is a grocery store (Pat’s Foods), Family Dollar, a couple of hardware stores, and numerous restaurants.
There is room to bring a boat if you have one, and there is public access to Lake Superior within 5 miles of home. There is also room to bring snowmobile/ATV trailers, and then you can ride from the home to hit the trails.
**Signed rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations. The primary guest will need to upload a picture of a government-issued ID and list the names and ages of all other guests in their group.
**There are 2 exterior audio/video recording devices on the property. One faces the front door of the home with the driveway, and the other faces the back door. They are motion-activated and on 24/7/365.

You can ride right from the home to miles and miles of groomed snowmobile trails in the winter or ORV trails in the summer. There’s plenty of room to park trucks and trailers for bringing your toys up. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore begins in Munising, which is only about 5 miles east of the home.
Our home was recently gutted down to the studs and completely remodeled. We opened up the living room/kitchen area and added a bathroom and brought the washer and dryer up to the main level. There’s a brand new 65” Roku TV in the living room and we have fiber optic wireless internet. We also added a tankless hot water heater so everybody gets a hot shower! We supply a crock pot, blender, drip coffee maker, and all the necessities to cook a meal at home. There’s a nice, large foyer with a bench and a shelf with hooks with plenty of room to store all your coats, bibs, helmets, boots, etc.

We love coming to the UP and to date this has been the most unique home we’ve stayed in up there. The home is perfectly located in the country very secluded, but also just a quick drive to go grab dinner or anything needed. Inside was cozy and had everything we needed. Daija was such a great host! I only wish we could have stayed longer.

The land is beautiful and the cabin was very cozy. The rustic setup was nice for enjoying the silence and bird songs. Right next to two bodies of water, the Yellow Dog River great for wading and the hosts provide kayaks and a canoe on Bear Lake for free! Amenities (propane, firewood) reasonably priced. Great location with hiking opportunities around, our favorites were Yellow Dog Falls and Thomas Rock. Big bay is closeby town with a great ice cream parlor and an extensive beach on Lake Superior with views of the cliffs to the west. The host is very kind and respectful and has a lot of knowledge about the land and nearby destinations. Access road is driveable for most cars, no offroad/4x4 needed. Would absolutely recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing stay in the woods.

My family and I were looking forward to a staycation this summer, and this place didn't disappoint. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, a true work of art, and the property is quaint, secluded, and peaceful. We especially loved the lawn of clovers and the fire pit area. Lots of sweet touches everywhere you look. As for amenities, it has everything you need and more - clearly a lot of thought was put into making visits comfortable and effortless. Caretaking/cleaning instructions were clear and very fair. Would strongly recommend!

I loved this experience on Lauren’s land! The dome was even better than pictures, the fireplace kept us toasty, the bed was comfortable and there were just miles of trails close by for my family and dogs to explore. Our every need was intuitively thought of, and the cleanliness of the dome was exceptional. I think an odd highlight for me was the immaculate outhouse. Normally, not something to go on and on about-but it far exceeded any expectation one would have of such a facility. Clean, comfortable, and again-so thoughtful.

Orchard cabin is a beautiful cabin in the woods surrounded by sounds and smells only nature can provide. So serene, so inviting; the inside of the cabin was thoughtfully laid out to provide most of the amenities of home, with unique old world touches. My crew and I had a great time playing cards against humanity and Pictionary until the late hours of the night both nights we were there. We were able to experience the sauna during our stay and it felt great. I’ve been getting over a cold so this helped so much. Jill was a great host and always answered my messages. I would highly recommend orchard cabin or any of the other cabins/campsites she hosts. You will enjoy it!

Susan was very helpful and kind. The Riverbend cabin was lovely with counter space to help food prep. Close to the pit toilet. The river is refreshing and the property is peaceful. I loved hearing the birds chirp all day.

It was a beautiful view overlooking the water and Lauren was so welcoming and friendly! The space was clean and we were thrilled to be able to bring our dogs. They made sure we had everything we needed and gave great recommendations for things to do in the area!! 10/10 would recommend.

5 nights at Bear Tree Homestead
The Pond Cabin was exactly what we hoped for - a peaceful place to disappear into the woods for a week.
What impressed us most was how thoughtfully everything was prepared. We arrived expecting to rely heavily on our own camping gear and supplies, but we hardly needed any of it. The cabin was exceptionally well stocked with cookware, utensils, fire-starting supplies, lighting, and countless small details that made our stay comfortable and stress-free. The loving care and thoughtfulness that went in to making it feel like a real home was so much appreciated.
The setting is beautiful. We spent our days exploring local waterfalls and forests, and took day trips out to Pictured Rocks and Au Sable, all to return each evening to a warm fire, visiting hummingbirds, and the quiet of the woods. It struck a perfect balance between feeling secluded and feeling cared for.
Jill and Nick were welcoming, communicative, and thoughtful throughout our stay. We tend to be fairly self-sufficient travelers who enjoy keeping to ourselves, and they were available whenever needed while still allowing the space to feel like our own private retreat.
For anyone looking to unplug, slow down, and spend time immersed in nature, this place is something special. We can't wait to return.

Staying at Bear tree resort was a magical experience. The sounds pouring from the pond was like sourround sound. Leave your speaker at home and enjoy nature's concert
The cabin was very very well built!! It was very cozy and felt very comforting! We were extremely comfortable both nights and would return to stay again! It was a very peaceful and unique experience.

4 nights at Bear Tree Homestead
It was delightful to unplug for a few days and explore the local area with a friend. Dark skies, a stunning hand-built cabin in beautiful surroundings and lots of space to wander and hike.
It's a little challenging to find, but Jill sends detailed instructions beforehand. And their livestock guardian dogs are so sweet, but true to their jobs, do bark through the night. Otherwise so peaceful and beautiful, and full of such intention, hard work and love.
(oh, and the cookies are SO good!)

Weekend Trip to Bear Tree Homestead
I am so glad my partner and I decided to go away for a long holiday weekend. This was the last taste of winter I desperately wished for. I adore winter and being cozy. We unplugged from the world and settled in for the joy of just being. This beautiful cabin was perfect for that. I am so thankful for this space and time to be quiet with the snowy forest. Hope to come again in the future.
